Daewoo - "Chinese", "Korean" or "Japanese"?

First model Daewoo Le Mans 1986

The name of this brand is translated from Korean as a "large universe." Large Korean automotive company Daewoo was founded in 1967. The division of passenger cars was redeemed by the General Motors concern, but because of an ambiguous reputation at home, in South Korea, a large North American concern decided to abandon the use of this brand to preserve his renome. So, since 2005, all cars sold in Europe have been renamed, having received a Chevrolet trademark. Since 2011, cars intended for Vietnamese, South Korean and Uzbek markets have ceased to be issued under the original brand. The asian financial crisis of 1998 became the cause of failure of the financial policy of the company. The financial miscalculations of the company's managers played their role, which coincided with the period of deterioration of relations with the Government of South Korea.
