WHO CARES?

But the Hunter with a new engine with the second, in principle, can, but extremely reluctantly. However, the roots of the problem are not only in the engine. The main pairs of 4,11 instead of 4.63 noticeably weakened the traction power of the machine. It’s good at least a new braid of the handout did not disappoint: now, by reduced gear, the new car is not inferior to the old car.

Weather conditions provided us with a complete set of winter roads: from poorly cleared asphalt to snow virgin lands. With the front bridge turned on, both cars (equipped with hydraulic wrappers) demonstrate excellent course stability, but at a speed of more than 80 km/h it is easier to go on the Hunter with a better reactive effect with small angles of rotation of the steering wheel. The old UAZ with spring suspension reacts tougher to small irregularities, but it is more confident on a broken road. Nevertheless, the final result is in favor of the beginner both on the asphalt and in the snow to control it easier. But when we tried to storm the virgin lands, we could not call far.
Rubber question
How many times have been told to the world the tires must comply with the purpose and operating conditions of the car. The abilities of any all -terrain vehicle primarily depend on them. It was important for us to compare the patency of the old and new UAZs in the same conditions, but in standard configuration, therefore, from a few options I had to choose the K-153 tires. Moreover, now from the factory most UAZs are on them. Disk brakes on the front wheels do not leave options: 15-inch tires are no longer suitable, only 225/75R16 get along with standard wheels. Although inches increased, the outer diameter with a reduced profile height has become less than about 20 mm. Accordingly, the road clearance decreased by about 10 mm.
By the way, our measurements showed that on the same tires the clearance under the old and new bridges is the same. But Hunter himself was higher than the old man under the bottom of the car, we measured as much as 35 mm more, apparently, the front springs and small springs raised the frame and the body behind. By the way, the model with the 409th engine turned out to be more successful and the exhaust system. Now it is no longer decorated with a low -hanging muffler barrel and a bending of the reception of the pipe: the muffler and the neutralizer successfully hid in the frame. Our exercises have shown that with the tires of the K-153, cross-country cross-country ability is limited to a depth of 2530 cm. With acceleration, a deeper target is also overcome, but if it happens to get stuck, then you can’t get out without a cable.
Conclusion is the first: if the car is needed from the car, you need to change the serial K-153 to the toothy K-151, or even better on imported tires with the marking m/t (Mud Terrain): They give an impressive advantage in snow and mud.

ALTERNATIVE
I must admit that in the entire history of UAZ 469 the current modernization is the deepest and most noticeable. But did she manage to do on time? The updated UAZ has few competitors, and although not all previous buyers will be able to make a more complex filling of the car, they have no choice. But Hunter is unlikely to be able to attract the Ulyanovsk Herders of the new drivers of those who have never traveled at UAZs. Despite all the technical tricks, the car is hopelessly outdated in 32 years. And the current UAZ 315195 can only be considered a transitional model for a new car, designed taking into account all modern needs. Can Hunter extend the life of the old UAZ before that time?
