Fisherman-hunter

Do you love nature? Me too. Therefore, at least once a year I unfold the map, choose an interesting place and go there in the hope of good fishing or hunting. The main intrigue of today's trip recently appeared on the market of the diesel UAZ market, in which we went to Seliger.

Our Hunter (in Russian is a hunter, although now it’s more likely a fisherman) just from the factory. Belts of safety, fog-tulrouses and an additional feet signal are neatly laid in the trunk.
The acquaintance is old.
The fellow traveler and I are familiar with classic UAZs, so we did not count on high cruising speed, light control and other pampering. But they firmly knew: no matter how much we gather on the road of Scarba, it will easily fit and will not affect the behavior of the car, only on the potholes it will become softer.
The first half an hour driving around the city got used to the Arzamas box, which at the place of the second gear and everything is shifted in general. Nothing, managed. Then the attention was attracted by the temperature indicator and the stove. Despite the obvious undercut of the engine (it was not possible to see more than 55 degrees on the scale), warm air blew in his feet.
Another quarter of an hour passed the outerwear. They remembered how they froze in UAZs, spat three times over their shoulder and looked forward to what would be on the highway.
While I was steering, my colleague drove his palm on the perimeter of the right door for a long time, then exclaimed: he didn’t blow anywhere?! I felt my side: I have too! Then they still found a couple of cracks from behind, but they could not spoil the impression.
Although the 86-horsepower Andoria allows you to keep 110 km/h on the highway, its appetite exceeds 15 liters per hundred. This is three or four liters more than with economical 90 km/h. In addition, despite the improved characteristics of shock absorbers, the dynamic corridor along which the car walks is becoming great with three -digit readings of the speedometer. And how much more convenient to go along the highway with Hunter without an amplifier (at least today).
Rzhev drove, got dark. Now to Ostashkov and further under the wheels there will be snow with propelled asphalt propelled. The behavior of a car with the fed -based bridge was alarmed, and I slowed down to 80 90 km/h.
And this forest is enchanted.
Having left far from large villages, in which you can find a tractor, they decided not to diesel Hunter still. The experiment was successful in five to six hours of idling and several dozen kilometers passed from the tank left about 14 liters.
In addition to fishing itself, they were fed in the surrounding forests. Here UAZ is in his element. True, once again they were convinced that the K-151 mud tires are not in the best way in the drunken snow. Hunter, like a kitten on the floor, is happy to accelerate on a straight line, but does not always manage to fall into turns. And in the snowdrifts overly toothy for winter, the tires do not obviously combine with a diesel engine, in which the maximum torque is shifted into the area of \u200b\u200bsmall revolutions. If simpler, on the first reduced it is very difficult to carefully start, without tearing the wheels into the boxes. I believe that this drawback will manifest itself in the summer, for example, on a clay lane. Although I have no doubt that in the mud and viscous soil the moment will benefit. And yet, since it is difficult to find a good winter winter tire for UAZ, it is better to buy it on such wheels, at least in the unleasis, they will be in the way.
Discussing the advantages of the engine on off -road, they came to Kramol: ecology sometimes harms. When an archaic diesel engine with modest power, but with magnificent bottoms they pull the ears to the norms of Euro II, it loses some of its advantages. Alas, in idle, this Andoria does not accept the load. Yes, and such diesel engines do not like to spin, so they have a modest working range.
Of course, there are advantages. The maximum torque is nevertheless achieved at lower speeds than that of gasoline counterparts, so the minimum steady speed is lower. We praise the insensitivity to the load on medium speeds and the ability to thresh at idle for hours. And here's another thing: of all the engines that they put on Hunter, the diesel engine has compromised himself less than others. And when you find out about the cast -iron head, a steel crankshaft and a in a series of fuel pump, I want to believe that it will serve forever.
Military grandfather.
Remember the holy simplicity of the army goat? Partially Hunter inherited his utilitarianism. True, a machine with an awning car is better for the role of an all -terrain convertible, it is not necessary to buy the rear side separately instead of the door.
The stove fan picks the air through a retractable sash, which is raised and launched manually. Nonsense, uncomfortable, but reliable. Plus such a solution, high efficiency on speed and independence from the fan. And one more minus (except for the need to sometimes fumble under the panel) in winter, before going, you need to clean the hood from snow. Otherwise, getting into the stove, frozen water melts, then evaporates, then settles on the glass ...
Two fuel tank would have classified military lotions: they say if one is shot ... This does not give civilian advantages. There are inconvenience with the total volume of tanks of 78 liters you are unlikely to be refueling at a time more than 35.
The front seats are curiously adjusted. People up to 180190 cm can use a conventional shift mechanism. But if you were well fed in porridge in childhood, it will be much more convenient to turn the frame with the key and rearrange the chair away. You can also dismantle the rear seats a very large trunk with an even floor.
A good thing on the off -road is an uncertain front bridge with reliably protected CV joints. It’s bad to ride on the highway on a dependent suspension, but who counted it on asphalt?
Devices in the center are such a requirement of the once chief customer (the commander must see everything!). However, modern Nissan-premer, Citroen C4 or Renault Modus also offer information to both front riders.
Stop, is this a digital odometer? That's how a thing! Like a Kalashnikov assault rifle, in which the rest of the cartridges is displayed on the liquid crystal display. But why not! If the author is not like it, it is a flimsy plastic bumper who replaced a strong piece of iron. And the thresholds are rather weak, so the right rack jack is often the salvation on the off -road simply nothing to rest. Yes, what a jack, you won’t poke into a snowdrift with such a bumper!
Fisherman fisherman ...
Without going through pre -sale training, Hunter came to us, having overcome 2400 km in the amount of 2400 km. Trifle? I find it difficult to recall a new domestic car from which Tosol would not have oozed. Under Hunter was dry. And in general, the assembly quality surprised. Pleasantly surprised.
My fellow traveler even allowed himself to speak disrespectfully about the defender. Say, such a UAZ is no worse, but even something even ... True, then he recovered: they can be safely set nearby. The machine is well painted, assembled with your hands, and that the archaic design does not like it so, do not take it.
In fairness, I will give the opinion of another colleague. Having traveled a couple of hours, he called the UAZ with a mechanical vehicle requiring truck riding skills. Well, not a hunter and not a fisherman, what to take from this?
SUMMARY
Diesel emphasized the utilitarian character of Hunter reduced the minimum resistant speed on the off -road, and measured his appetite. However, it does not eat to a common assessment, but rushing did not reach.
+ The dynamic characteristics generally correspond to the possibilities of the chassis, moderate fuel consumption, the possibility of prolonged idling, high cross -country ability and security of the nodes from below.
- a spoiled characteristic of the engine on the bottom, modest power, an unsuccessful algorithm of gear shifts, flimsy bumers.
UAZ Hunter
The all -terrain vehicle has been leading its genealogy since 1972, when it was born UAZ 469. One of the latest modernizations was held in 2003, after which all the classic UAZs called Hunter.
