PEUGEOT 3008 and Mitsubishi ASX test drive: candidates for jeeps
Mitsubishi and Peugeot have found what Russians need: station wagons, similar to small -wheel drive SUVs for inexpensive. Kolesa.ru swept to ASX and 3008 and are ready to endure their verdict.PEUGEOT 3008 and Mitsubishi ASX may well be popular not only in Russia, but to say, outside the urbanized territories of Europe. But only we are not yet fully trusted by diesel, but slowly they refuse to do all drive and sincerely love small crossovers.
Love for money
The basic Peugeot costs 40 thousand rubles more expensive than Mitsubishi: 769,000 versus 729,000 rubles. Both cars are originally offered with 1.6-liter front-wheel drive versions with mechanical gearbox.
With the most powerful 1.6-liter 156-horsepower Peugeot turbo engine (and mechanics) is sold for 914,000 rubles. But ASX with a two -liter engine has four drive wheels, but costs more than 1,039,000 rubles. But 3008 with all-wheel drive does not exist. At least for now.
In the base, both crossovers (we will call them so, despite the front -wheel drive) are equipped pretty well. Each car has air conditioning, anterior airbags, assistance systems for braking, an MP3 CD magnet, a steering column, electric glass and mirrors adjustable in height and depth. In addition, Peegeot has side and window pillows, ESP system, 17-inch wheels (instead of 16-inch ASX) and the front armrest with cooling (in Mitsubishi, no cold air was carried out there). But in Mitsubishi there is heating the seats, as well as the possibility of adjusting the angle of inclination of the rear seats.
What else is waiting inside
Peugeot was pleasantly surprised by an absolutely non -utilitarian approach to the design of the car of a car of this class. For example, the driver and passenger shares a continuous partition, which formed the central console and tunnel. On it, in addition to climate control panels and music, there are a number of spectacular toothproilors (however, two of them were inactive apparently, along with assembled). The remaining five could be controlled by a retractable projection screen, which displayed the speed from the speedometer, as well as the emergency gear and locking of the doors.
Mitsubishi is more prosaic, especially given that the interior is very much like Lancer with Outlander, even if there are some differences in the details. In fairness, it is worth noting that in ASX the driver feels more spacious; The salon does not surround him so much. And the rear passengers are completely a fairy tale: there are almost as much spaces in the knees and feet as in medium -sized crossovers.
The seats there and there are regulated in height, but do not provide outstanding lateral support. However, according to subjective sensations, Peugeot seats are a little more convenient.
Not a single clearance
One glance at the passport data of cars is enough to understand that ASX is capable of large feats on the road; The clearance 3008 does not exceed 170 mm, while the Japanese has 215 mm of a road clearance! Along with this, Mitsubishi overhangs are much shorter, respectively, the corners of the entrance and the congress here are significantly larger. Nevertheless, our trial trip on different ruts did not reveal the loser. The clearance of both cars was enough to not leave traces on the bums or thresholds. There was no pendant fence. However, a sense of confidence and lack of fear on the off -road at the driver of Mitsubishi brought the Japanese to the leaders.
Again about the drive. Even when we led both cars in the hill, and under the right wheels there was a rather deep hole, which made the left alternately tear himself away from the ground, not one of the couple whisper. The working crackling of anti -circulation systems was heard, after which the only hooked wheel was not without difficulty, but still stretched crossovers. We conclude: even with the front -wheel drive, each of the compared cars is suitable for the assault of virgin lands; The main thing is not to forget about the auxiliary electronics, which in this case is necessary! The basic Mitsu, devoid of assisting systems, could not take an obstacle
We count horses
The test Mitsubishi ASX was equipped with a 1.8-liter 140-horsepower engine and a variator, while Peugeot had a full-fledged automatic machine that transfers torque wheels from a 1.6-liter 156-horsepower turbo engine. Both according to passport data, and according to the subjective sensations, the unconditional leader of the asphalt part of the competition became 3008. He needs only 9.5 seconds against the eternity of 13.1 asx to accelerate up to 100 km/h. By the way, 1.8+the variator is the slowest possible options for mitsubishi, since a 1.6-liter engine is offered only with a handle (11.4 seconds), and a two-liter unit, although it is only available in an all-wheel drive version, but still lucky the crossover slightly faster (11.9 seconds ).
It is logical that the ligament of the Motor and the PEUGEOT automaton liked much more ASX installation. Including the fact that with fast driving due to good traction on the bottoms, the box often switches up, and using mainly low engine speeds. Therefore, even at 120 km/h in the cabin it was so quiet that it was clearly audible how the tires rustle on asphalt! Whereas in the ASX, in order to keep up with 3008, I had to be cruel with a gas pedal, which responded with a highly audible in the cabin by the sound of high engine speeds.
Who has won?
Kolesa.ru drivers could not choose an absolute champion in this duel. The voices of both testers went to different cars largely because their priorities in the choice of a car vary. Those who prefer a car suitable for frisky asphalt trips will like 3008 more. The Frenchman took the engine, interior and body design and smoothness. And a person who thinks over a car for a more or less frequent trip outside (and often on bad roads) should definitely take a closer look at the ASX and his energy-intensive suspension, an off-road clearance and spacious passengers (and garden accessories).
Cars are provided by the Auto Premium companies, the official deigne of Peugeot and Automir, the official dealer of Mitsubishi.
