In general, Iceland is a real environmental paradise: geysers, volcanoes, practically not touched nature, not a single harmful production and punishment up to prison for an unauthorized congress on the grass.

It was much more interesting in the first minutes of acquaintance with the car to find out what the so -called facelifting is, or in other words, the plastic surgery of the model, which has been on the conveyor of the Nissan factory in Spain and has already experienced two similar changes.

Everyone is riding. Last year, Terrano-II visited a long-term test in the editorial office. The impressions of the car were the warmest. One hundred percent confident in the city, she did not fail us during the sorties out of town. True, a significant difference was that in Moscow we rolled a long-drawn gasoline version of 2.4 liters with mechanics, and in Iceland we were offered a 2.7-liter long turbodiesel with an automatic machine and the same short with mechanics. The thing is that in economical Europe a gasoline machine is more likely an exception, and therefore the main rates are made on diesel. You can buy any.
Troika again. Terrano-II honest jeep. In the sense that it is based on a powerful frame and a gentleman's set of off -road functions. In ordinary driving mode, this is a rear -wheel drive car with a very modest fuel consumption. On off -road, you can use both an additional connection of the front axle and a reduced range of transmission. At the same time, the speed, however, is halved, but the torque increases as much. In critical situations, a self -locking rear differential and large strokes of pendants can help. Terrano-II has no other locks, however, at a price of about $ 30 thousand and thank you.
The narrow gravel roads of Iceland, consisting of a broken volcanic lava, and shallow rivers the best place for trips in a similar machine. I admit honestly: a short version with mechanics made the greatest impression. Perhaps this reason is not a very reasonable speed limit that we have chosen (on far from the best mountain tracks we rode under 90 km/h), but one way or another, not too frisky machine, coupled with a constantly dangling backward version of the long version did not deliver much comfort. The three -door seemed more predictable and obedient.
However, my subjective negative emotions do not belong to the running parts of the machine that have undergone changes. In addition to the fact that for all 500 km of dough the suspension has never made its way (new gas -filled shock absorbers) was pleased with the ABS system. The designers managed to solve the problem of the so -called uncontrolled inclusion of ABS, inherent in many American SUVs, and some Japanese too. ABS struck with its intelligence there was no feeling that it was only worth slightly pressing the pedal on the bump and immediately get the piece of iron instead of the brake. This is due to the fact that ABS works selectively, depending on the transmission mode. Like the large Patrol GR, ABS automatically turns off at speeds less than 8 km/h. The brakes have changed. Terrano-II will appear in dealers at the end of this year. And one more news for those who love the hotter: soon the Pathfinder model will appear on the Russian market, originally intended only for the United States: with almost the same dimensions as Terrano-II, the machine is equipped with a capacity of 170 hp!
