The two -liter diesel is not a record capacity of only 100 kW/136 hp, but the torque is quite solid 320 N.M. In the economical version, the road clearance is reduced by 20 mm, which allows you to reduce aerodynamic resistance. To reduce mass and resistance to movement, the drive is only on the front wheels.
Box 6-speed mechanics. Two upper gearboxes are made longer (with a smaller gear number) than usual. AT as a result, at 90 km/h on VI gear, a slightly more than 1,400 rpm of the engine. The car can turn off the generator on acceleration and actively develop the current during braking, even more reducing fuel consumption. Of course, the power steering also has an electric drive. If you take the right strip on the autobahn and adhere to the selected speed, the fuel consumption of Audi A6 2.0 TDIE will very quickly decrease to 3.6 l/100 km. In a normal suburban cycle with accelerations up to 120 km/h, 4.3 l/100 km will turn out. And all this on a one and a half-ton car with excellent comfort, not reaching only a little to a 5-meter length and capable of going faster than 200 km/h!
The 2-liter diesel has a slightly less economical 170-horsepower twin, which consumes an average of 0.4 liters more, but much more freak. In addition to him, there are also diesel six 2.7 and 3.0 liters is already for those who are looking for a balance between reasonable savings and excellent dynamics.
However, it is even more interesting to try a new gasoline engine with a 3.0 TFSI drive compressor. Power and torque indicators of this 3-liter engine with direct injection and boost correspond to more than a 4-liter motor, despite the fact that it is very economical. But this, of course, according to their cycle, if you go in our opinion, such beautiful numbers are not possible, but there is a feeling of very smooth acceleration in the entire speed range. There is more than enough power to not notice the severity of the all -wheel drive transmission and set the pace in the left row of the autobahn. The maximum speed does not have: a restriction of 250 km/h is valid for all audi, except R8.
A car with a 3-liter diesel engine, according to the sensations, is not inferior in dynamics, but goes in a completely different way. The diesel six 3.0 TDI Quattro with an automatic transmission, although inferior to gasoline 50 hp, but more actively reacts to the gas pedal. It may seem strange, but the diesel car is subjectively perceived as more sports. Maybe a different weightlifting is? However, according to branded data, it is only 35 kg heavier. And objectively, the same route is overcome with a fuel consumption of a couple of liters less.
Anything really special? There is almost no time left on Audi-RS6. However, here everything is clear: 580 bold forces under the hood, according to the sensations, can be equated to about 700 atmospheric, and the external speed characteristic of the motor with a profile resembles the largest monolithic rock in the Australian Ayers-Rock. It is clear that 650 N. M in the range from 1500 to 6250 rpm do not need special comments. At the first request of the driver, they are able to firmly fry all four 20-inch wheels of a 35 percent profile and 275 mm width. The adhesion of well -warmed wheels with the road is so large that even the most daring turns seem to be light scumbag. To accommodate such rinks, the front and rear wings have expanded the RS6. The test machine also has ceramic brakes, but in order to try them in the present case, you need a racing track. Honestly, it’s hard to even imagine where this machine can show all its power. Against such a background, the German price from 105 thousand euros is not surprising.
Look from the inside
The opposite options for configuration are so strong that they turn audi-A6 into different cars. The decoration of the salon from the strict contrast of polished aluminum, black leather and alcantara to a warm combination of birch cap and beige skin is also different. The selection of seats is also extensive: from simple to integrated sports type S with the possibility of lining with materials of different types of customer choice.
A separate line of the new third-generation MMI electronics with connectors for SD cards, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and even a digital DAB receiver. The system uses a processor with a clock frequency of 800 Hz and a hard drive with a capacity of 40 GB, part of which is given to the needs of the navigation system. In addition, a signal processor with a clock frequency of 500 MHz is responsible for playing sound in 5.1 format and decoding DVD films. The improved graphic features with which the system owes the NVIDIA video card allowed to add images of houses. For especially noticeable buildings, even textures are provided! So the updated Audi A6 will be even for a computer fanatic.

Why mechanical?
Too hot heart sometimes causes problems in a completely different place. The turbocharger is more effective than a drive supercharger, it uses the energy of exhaust gases, which will still be lost in the exhaust system. Why did the designers Audi prefer a different decision? It was clearly not without a compromise. The new motor should also take a place under the hood of the future representative Audi-A8 with a completely aluminum body. So, the engine with two turbochargers is too hot for its motor compartment of the turbine snail, hot up to 1000 OS, are located at a minimum distance from aluminum power elements. The drive supercharger lies in the collapse of the cylinders and warms up much less, because the engineers decided to stop at it, especially since they need to leave a sufficient step in power for an 8-cylinder hopeless unit.
