But - Here is a paradox - if I were offered to choose one of these cars, I would probably give preference to Allroad.

To begin with, I should notice that this 255-strong engine with the direct injection of fuel I had the opportunity to try hard on the whole model range of Audi. Machines are smaller with him just fly, more - just confidently and quickly go. If you leave modern diesel engines for your brackets, the most suitable option and for A6, and for allroad it is difficult to imagine. Of course, from my subjective point of view.
To the A6 model, the manufacturer offers the widest choice of power units - there are also less and more powerful. But it is from the 3.2 FSI that the car seems to me the most balanced, when the drive, suspension, 6-speed AKP - all this together demonstrates a coherent job that it is pleasant to feel. And the car reveals all its capabilities - not the limit, but not frightening. Behind the wheel of such a car, you are always sure. Because under the right foot - there is a feeling - there is an inexhaustible source of power, which can be realized at any time. The beauty of the FSI system is that the motor is capable of vividly responding to the accelerator pedal, generously sharing the moment and forces in a fairly wide range of revolutions, but at the same time its characteristics are not smoothed, the explosive character is quite noticeable. What is especially pleasant in case of acceleration or accelerations required for overtaking on the track. And, I tell you, dear reader, the dynamics more than impressive. It is even difficult for me to imagine where - in real life, and not on special tracks - it could be lacking.
The same engine, but now as a basic one, allrode gives a few other sensations. No, the car is also capable of moving along the highway, it can be said rapidly. It is just more and harder that naturally affects the dynamics. And the point is not only in the tenths of a second, which she lags behind when overclocking up to 100 km / h from A6, is always overweight, although the engine copes with him to conscience. Name Audi Allrroad 3.2 FSI is impossible. And if you compare his capabilities not with A6, but with many other models from different manufacturers, then it's just a bullet with a big trunk.
FEATURES ALLROAD.
Since we have already told about other driving qualities of A6, focus on Allroad. This car demonstrates two, from my point of view, key properties. On the track, at high speeds, he pleases the smoothness of the stroke, and the habits of a large sports car can shoot on the winding paths, despite the decent sizes a difficult stern. The main thing is in any situations the machine behaves absolutely predictable. Not least due to the famous Quattro system. Such a full drive distorted from a driver's point of view is soon, apparently, it will be difficult to find it in general. In the automotive industry, a hard desire is observed to replace almost any mechanical connections in transmission with computer modeling. It may be cheaper in production and more promising, but so far such attempts are able to cause annoyance, because there is a mediator between the man and the car, which considered that the car should behave in such a situation, not otherwise. In ALLRAD, praise engineers from Ingolstadt, nothing like this is observed. And you know for sure that this turn can be included in this seventy, because exactly in the middle of the viragea, when the feed behaves, there will be enough moment on the front wheels, and they will stretch the car from the drift. It is worth only slightly turn to the desired side the ram and not to let go of the gas pedal.
Such predetermined in the behavior of the car, of course, is especially important on slippery coverage. And in order to thoroughly learn the character Quattro, you just need to practice, and better - in the company school. Then you can from time to time, for the sake of fun, turn off the ESP stabilization system, which, by the way, acts very competently and correctly.
If the future owner of the Audi Allroad intends to ride quickly, it is better for him to choose Dynamic mode - from those five modes that the pneumatic suspension now offers. In this case, the clearance will be the minimum 125 mm, and the body will almost not be laid in the devias. The on-board computer will choose this option, but only if you rush at a speed of at least 120 km / h within about ten minutes. In principle, in the city it is wiser to charge the choice of electronics mode, stopping at the Automatic position - it copes with it, I can assure it very competently, providing a high level of comfort.
However, there are situations in the city when the body must be raised by himself - when moving through the borders, for example. Here I want to turn a little. In the first generation of Allroad, zoom clearance was an easy-to-step: pressed the key on the front panel one or several times, and see until one or more indicators turn around, although it is clear when you can overcome the obstacle. Now without MMI, the multimedia interface, it is not necessary to go in any way - you need to go to the menu, select a section, etc. Beautiful, of course, on a large color display everything is very clearly, but after all - too lazy! Extra, you know, actions, I would prefer that some basic functions can be controlled using individual keys. And such keys are available, but not to control the suspension. However, this can be read and a petty pickle.
To complete a brief conversation about the suspension, I will say that there is, of course, modes for overcoming off-road, although in the deaf place I would still not recommended to climb, this car is not done. Nevertheless, the clearance can increase as much as to 190 mm (LIFT mode). But the smart machine will independently attend if you try to exceed the speed of 35 km / h in this mode. In general, only one opportunity to change the ground clearance makes for me allroad more attractive option. But there is also other obvious advantages like a spacious luggage compartment.
It is impossible not to say at least a few words about the 6-speed automatic Tiptronic gearbox. Without this mechanism, the full potential FSI could have remained a thing in themselves. The ACP is very good - reacts to the driver teams almost instantly, adjusts to the individual driving style, offers sports mode and the possibility of manual gear shift. Moreover, it is possible to switch from one step to another with the help of submissive petals, which in some cases is very convenient. In this case, the box will not allow only one thing - to twist the engine when the tachometer arrow will clearly go into the red zone - and correctly, I must say, will do. As for the sports regime, I, to confess, enjoyed only in exceptional cases. For example, when it was necessary on the highway to circle crawling approximately at the same speed and in all rows, from the extreme right to the extreme left, squash. It is important that the speeds are maintained in the area of \u200b\u200b2.5 thousand revolutions, that this mode and provides - then the response time on the accelerator pedal is minimally, and the machine reacts correctly not only to feed, but also to reset the gas. In all other situations, I was completely satisfied with the usual operation of the ACP operation, quite ensuring and active movement.
He must be in demand
I said nothing about the appearance of the Audi Allroad. If in a nutshell is a harmonious and courageous car that can cause respect for the road. Personally, a chromed radiator grille with vertical ribs was especially glanced - very expressive and very stylish. On the other hand, the reader even on photographs may well make an impression. I will only add that the silver defense below is hardly able to protect the car from some serious trouble, but it looks quite well, emphasizing the purpose and functionality of the model.
In allroad - almost a copy of A6, so I will not describe the interior in detail. But it emphasizes that there is more space in the cabin than in the same A6 or in the machine of the previous generation. In addition to 124 mm in length, and in 10 mm in width, the designers took advantage of considerable art. Practical people should please the luggage compartment, the volume of which varies within 565 - 1660 liters. Yes, and the electric drive of the rear door, the ability to open and close it from the key fob - the thing is useful.
In conclusion, I will share some marketing considerations. I think that Audi came very reasonably, while maintaining allroad in the model range, although there are A6 AVANT, and Q7 appeared. Allroad occupies, in fact, a unique niche, just between these models, and direct competitors does not. And, therefore, it may well count on its buyer.
