What do you think this car costs? I asked my acquaintances more than once while I went to Chevrolet Evang. No one lowered the bar below the official price, and often exceeded it. Moreover, some hastily changed the decision to buy one of the Korean classmates of Evanda in her favor.
Frankly, I myself did not expect such pleasant impressions of Chevrolet. Especially after a few days before the test I collected the necessary information about it. For the new model, the car was not too much ... new.

For example, it turned out that Evanda made her debut five years ago under the name Dau Magnus and after buying a Daewoo, General Motors had undergone only cosmetic changes. Magnus, in turn, used the units that had once been sold in Russia Daewoo Legans. Having renamed the car into Doninvest Condor, its assembly was established at the Krasny Aksai factory in Taganrog, but quickly turned off. It made no sense to go further along the genealogical tree. It is better to pretend that in front of you is a completely unfamiliar car.

The image is nothing?
It seems that this slogan is from the evil one. Try, possessing a decent social status, even to travel to your beloved but long -aged machine of oblique views and gossip. We'll have to choose another car. It is then that a natural desire to get more arises, paying less. Here you will certainly pay attention to the Chevrolet Evang.

The one that fell into my hands from the ji-em press garage is equipped to the maximum: an automatic machine, real skin and almost natural appearance wood, pleasant little things like folding the mirror button try to find an analogue cheaper than $ 24,000! A runaway inspection did not reveal the tricks: even gaps between body details, closing with a pleasant sound of the door and incomparable smell of the skin in the cabin.

Drive mode
The first kilometers along the Moscow Boulevard Ring passed completely imperceptibly. In a divided, cozy seats adjusted thanks to electrical adjustments in a matter of seconds. It was possible to set up only a lumbar back. Even much more expensive German cars sometimes do not provide you with such a service! But the miscalculations in ergonomics were still found: the steering column is regulated only in height, so you have to stretch a little further than I would like. However, this does not bother if you do not want to sit in sports close to the bagel.
Another remark to the instrument panel: with the right grip of the steering wheel, the tachometer and the fuel is partially overlapped. Is this a hint relax, the car is not for racing! Check: the right hand on the armrest, the left handlelessly holds the steering wheel by the upper knitting needle now everything is clearly visible! It is a pity that in Moscow with its crazy movement, such experiments are safe except at the turtle of speed.
He also swept in the back seat, trying on the role of the boss. Strange affair! Looking into the salon through a wide doorway, he considered that there are more than enough places on the couch. In fact, the passenger literally feels the ceiling above average. Gradually sliding along the slippery skin of the seat, he soon supports his front backs with his knees. Nevertheless, in general, Evang, when first acquaintance for the convenience of the driver and passengers, deserved the assessment well. How unfriendly we have spring to motorists! Having left the Moscow Region, as if you are in another world. But Evanda’s pendant saved only a couple of times a breakdown, and the road trifle swallowed playfully, preserving quite acceptable comfort.

Even in winter studded shoes, she quite willingly followed the set trajectory, only slightly annoying the insufficiently informative steering wheel. For Russian roads, a similar combination of European composure and American imposing, perhaps optimal.
With a set of speeds, not only advantages became obvious, but also flaws invisible in the city. Say, overtaking a truck going faster than 80 km/h, often forced to strain: by squeezing the accelerator pedal to the stop, you get a quick response of the automatic rush about the inclusion of a reduced gear. The hysterical voice of the motor against the background of sluggish overclocking reports. For a heavy car, a 131-horsepower engine is clearly not enough. Still, twenty to thirty feet! We agreed without sports ambitions. On cruising 100110 km/h Evanda pleases with low noise and moderate appetite what else is needed for a measured ride?

Parking mode
And now more than one and a half thousand kilometers behind: different roads, different times of the day, different speeds. If the character of Evanda is classified according to a human scale, I would call it a typical phlegmatic man. This will seem like a drawback to someone, but, on the contrary, by dignity. In the twitching stream of two capitals, you go more confidently on a solid car: the neighbors are more willing to pass during rebuilding, an automatic box with soft switching and informative brakes seem to reduce familiar routes. A calm spacious sedan will arrange first of all those who are tired of the eternal race. If the car does not pull, the average consumption will be held within reasonable limits up to 12 l/100 km, but it is worth spurring the motor, as it will require a couple more liters for every hundred. On the highway you can meet the round 10 l/100 km ... It is a pity that at the beginning and end of the highway there are usually cities!
Having given the keys to Evanda, he caught himself on the fact that he managed to get used to her. Like any car, it, of course, is not devoid of flaws, and the most important of them, in my opinion, is a modest dynamics. But as a buyer, I would forgive him for this weakness for a cozy salon, a comfortable suspension, a rich equipment and an attractive price. Well, of course, for the golden crosses on the stern and grille of the radiator. After all, everything is the image!

The almost accurate copy of Daewoo Magnus developed by Koreans, which entered the Russian market in 2005, which made his debut in 2000, is produced only with the sedan body.
