Test drive in Russia: Volvo C30 2.5T

  At the moment, C30 is the most compact model from Volvo. But by no means the weakest - in the version that we went to the test. At the first gaze at the elegant, silver-steel color, a car with a wrapper T5, it became clear: this machine will show itself!
          
It is interesting that the physiognomy of the new Volvo line (C30-S40-S60-S80) do not differ in variety: when you see C30 from the facade, you do not immediately understand exactly which model looks at you, but it is worth going on the side and everything becomes clear at once. The shape of the body of this model always seemed to me: an elongated hatchback with an almost flat, chopped back. Surprised the doors: unusually long; When both you open them, Volvo C30 seems to be scattering wings (and you need to carefully look at whether there are obstacles from the sides, whether the door will knock on the neighboring car).
I must say that I never particularly liked the cape cars: the three-door layout always seemed incomprehensible to me. In fact, a compartment is a car for two. But, on the other hand, in a family with young children, such a car can be very useful: you can put the small one back and not be afraid that the door will accidentally open. Nevertheless, getting back into C30 is a difficult task for an adult, especially a tall person: you need to push the front chair, bend your back and try to squeeze into the resulting narrow space, throwing your legs through a stretched seat belt. However, when you already fall into the rear seats, I don’t want to get back to sitting there extremely conveniently!
The trunk at Volvo C30, however, for the Cup car, it is still quite decent. Well, such vehicles for freight transportation have not been created, they have something else. A good idea from above the trunk is closed with a light lid.
At first, landing at first seemed less convenient to me than in larger Volvo, however, the adjustments of the seat eventually allowed me to sit down with comfort: after all, comfort is a mandatory property of Volvo salons and it should not have been otherwise. In the first minutes of movement on the way, I had to get used to the unusually reacting to press the gas pedal, the car was in a hurry to break off, after all, a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 230 horses for such a compact car is not a joke! Mechanical box not bad short and very clear, the clutch is moderately tough, but the brake pedal move seemed long. Like the previous test model from the Volvo S80, C30 is equipped with a warning system about dangerous rapprochement with BLIS objects. Its sensors are built into the rear -view mirrors and track dead areas around the car, warning a light bulb that it is too early to rebuild. And again, I caught myself thinking that you instantly get used to it when you transplant with a volvo to another car, you begin to wait for the same tips from it and understand that you will have to twist your head again during rebuilding. C30 has good mirrors, the rear review is also good, despite the tiny window of the trunk door. However, in heavy rain, the side mirrors are strongly filled and heating does not immediately cope.
In Volvo C30, a traditional Dynaudio audio system for new models. But at high volume, the plastic parts of the cabin begin to mumble and resonate, however, this is a typical phenomenon for compact cars.
 
The consumption of gasoline in C30 is very dependent on the driving style: with a calm city movement, it is 1213 h. for a hundred kilometers, but if it takes off, it takes off almost 30 liters (according to the computer). And this lighter causes the desire to fit the engine every time as soon as you see a free section of the road ahead. And, of course, such an engine can really feel only on a mechanical box I think, with a machine gun the model would be less gusty and fast.
 
On a flat surface, C30 demonstrates excellent exchange rate stability, despite its size and weight. On bumps, of course, the car is trying to go for a walk, but not much. Maneuverability on the five, the steering wheel is responsive, with good feedback. Unlike most other compact cars, Volvo C30 2.5T really go knowledgeable people will understand what we are talking about!

Actually, I do not really like small cars, but this is a special case. Engine 2.5T (the same as Ford Focus ST), 6-speed mechanics, acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.7 sec. A car, clearly tuned for fast driving.
On the road it becomes clear: it is still rather a comfortable car that is able to drive quickly, and not a racing projectile. The engine wakes up only after 3,5004,000, and the steering could be more sought. In general, C30 T5 is a stylish, small car with character, for every day, for wealthy people.
