Initially, Volkswagen Jetta in Russia was available only with a 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine with a capacity of 150 hp. and a 7-speed pre-sequent DSG robot with two clutches. A little later, a 122-horsepower version of this engine appeared, and at the beginning of 2012, the most affordable modification of Jetta with an old atmospheric engine with a volume of 1.6 liters with a capacity of 105 hp, which is now equipped with the base VW Golf VI and Polo sedan, will debut on the Russian market. But not the golf and jetta are one. Among other things, the novelty from the Volkswagen borrowed the front (MacPherson) and the rear (multi -leaf) pendant, as well as the steering wheel, as well as the steering wheel.


On the back sofa is spacious, almost like in a business class, there is a convenient armrest and a 12-volt outlet. In principle, the three of them can also be accommodated here, but a large floor tunnel will interfere with the central passenger.

The dynamics of a 150-horsepower motor have been pleased from the first kilometers. The sedan cheerfully accelerates from the traffic light, leaving behind even obviously more powerful rivals, and gains the first hundred in 9.4 seconds. With overtaking on the highway, everything is in order, the box works quickly, and there is enough traction at high speeds. In the city, the DSG transmission constantly saves fuel, so if you go slowly, then at 60 km/h there is a chance to see the seventh gear on the dashboard. Hence the delays, if necessary, the box finds the desired step, while the turbine is spinning, you can correct the situation, but for this you will have to sacrifice efficiency and turn on the DSG gearbox, which helps to hold each step to the last.


We got the most powerful modification (for the market of the Russian Federation), equipped with a 1.4-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 150 hp. Such Jetta pleases a good dynamics of acceleration and does not graze even on high -speed overtaking. The 7-speed transmission DSG works quickly, but announces with its desire to save fuel, switching to 7-speed after 60 km/h.

In terms of controllability of Volkswagen Jetta is calmer than a harsh, contemplated golf and tougher than the imposition of a new passat. Golden mean! The sedan stands great on a straight line and remains stable at any speed, completely ignoring the rut and a wave of asphalt. The force on the steering wheel is perfectly verified, the reactions to the actions of the steering wheel are clear and fast. In the hands of the driver of Jett as a puppet, unquestioningly performs any commands, remaining understandable and predicted for the driver. A sharp turn is accompanied by moderate roll, but stability remains on high damage until the wheels are lost with the road, and there wait for the help of an unlotted stabilization system, for which the Jetta salon is not even provided for the corresponding key.

Despite the fact that in terms of stiffness, the dense suspension of Jetta, of course, is inferior to VW Golf, large pits and bumps of the sedan passes with a tangible shaking. With irregularities of a smaller chassis with optional 17-inch wheels and tires 225/45, it copes better, but the return is felt here. There are no complaints about the effectiveness of the brakes, but the pedal is not the best information. Because of this, at the end of the braking, you have to squeeze it, otherwise you risk slipping the stop point planned in advance.


The new VW Jetta has received a modern stylish design, a more spacious and high -quality salon and excellent running qualities that do not go beyond comfort. With such an arsenal, the novelty from Volkswagen quite claims to be leadership in the classroom. It remains to wait for 1.6-liter atmospheric versions, because the price of richly equipped cars easily exceeds 1 million rubles.

A car with a 150-horsepower engine and a DSG box in the Highline configuration will cost 923,000 rubles, and a test copy with additional options cost 972,820 wans. The most affordable version with a 1.4 TSI turbo engine with a capacity of 122 hp. and a 6-sewing mechanics in the Trendline configuration will cost 711,000 rubles, and initial modifications with an atmospheric 105-horsepower golf unit are promised to be kept within 685,000 rubles. However, you can wait for them no earlier than the beginning of next year. Then it will be possible to draw the first conclusions about the market success of the novelty, which has become an excellent compromise between the golf and the Passat and occupied the cherished golden mean.
