At first glance, Suzuki-Liana is a rather ordinary representative of the CD-class.For the same money, you can find a faster, roomy, elegant car. But, oddly enough, Liana often choose the most picky buyers. The opinions of the owners converge in one thing: despite certain shortcomings, in terms of the totality of the consumer properties of Liana, competitors are ahead of the head.
Indeed, it is difficult to imagine that for less than 20 thousand dollars today a new all -wheel drive car of the Japanese assembly is available, spacious, with good visibility, in a rich configuration (heating of seats and mirrors, fog lights, a radio tape recorder, four airbags, climate pillows, climate -control), and even with a machine gun! The rates for the options for Suzuki are one of the lowest (find climate control cheaper than $ 100 or all-wheel drive for $ 18002,000!), Therefore, there are many cars packaged for the eyeballs on the Russian market. The lianas of the first years of release (see the history of the model) in Moscow offer 1012 thousand dollars, for restyling they ask for 1517. Family minibus

The disadvantages include a modest (150 cm) road clearance, coupled with a relatively large front overhang, an engine noise after 3000 rpm and a harsh suspension. Someone in Liana would not have enough speakers (officially in Russia only versions with a 1.6 liter engine were sold), to someone cross-country ability. But it is unlikely that these claims should be taken seriously: after all, Liana is rather a family minibus.
Healthy heredity
Liana is designed on the units of Baleno, which, in general, has established itself well in Russia (ZR, 2005, No. 12, p. 122). The successor even wins in reliability: for example, clutch here lasts longer (more than 100 thousand km) and there are no problems with mechanical gearboxes. All six engines (see the history of the model) are quite successful, but we practically do not meet diesel engines, and among the gasoline versions the vast majority of the official 1.6 liters.
The advantage of all vine gasoline engines is an undergoing timing drive (a circuit with a hydraulic machine). The gaps of the valves are regulated by washers (except 2.0 and 2.3 liters, where hydraulic compensators are installed). But, as experience shows, even after 100 thousand km, the gaps practically do not leave. CPG serves more than 200 thousand km, and there is the possibility of cylinder boring at 0.25 and 0.50 mm.
Unfortunately, not only advantages are inherited, but also disadvantages: the upper plastic tank of the radiator, or rather, its clamping plate, and there is a weak place. The new radiator of roads is also weak, but restored, with an aluminum tank allows you to forget about the leaks for a long time.

The transmission is very reliable. Noise insulation by Lian leaves the opportunity to evaluate by ear not only the engine speed, but also the suspension operation. Small knocks often manage to eliminate the stretch of the subframe: over time they weaken. Another cause of fractional sounds is the wear of the stabilizer racks. This feature of the short -flowing suspension of the vines does not need cardinal treatment, and the racks usually serve more than 100 thousand km.
Owners of all -wheel drive modifications recall that all tires should be not only one dimension, but also with the same tread wear. Often the owners face accelerated wear of the rear tires. The problem is solved by adjusting the angles of installation of the rear wheels or replacing the viscousyft. Until recently, vines with climate control were not supplied to Russia: the riding of luxury was a regular air conditioner but without a filter in the ventilation system!
