GeneralAerio (Aerio) is a hatchback and a sedan that is a car the highest for Suzuki class, except for the Escudo SUV. He was subjected to low modernization. Suzuki itself does not speak of low modernization, but uses an expression partial improvement, but its content is at such a level that in other companies it corresponds to low modernization.
However, we can say that there are almost no external changes. The s icon is attached to the front lattice, in accordance with the unification, recently carried out for all Suzuki models, and new colors have been added to the color of the body - azure, gray, steep and metal. In addition, in the hatchback 1.5, fairings and other sports details began to be standardly installed. But frankly, then the differences have such a degree that you do not pay attention to them if you are not the owner of the previous Aerio model.
On the contrary, the filling has changed significantly. In particular, the interior and chassis have undergone large changes. First of all, in the interior they changed the partition of the motor compartment. In addition, almost all the details in contact with the body of the user's upholstery, the steering wheel, the switching lever of automatic transmission, the parking brake lever, etc. were updated. As for the chassis, the supporting body and the main shape of the suspension remained the same, but the developers not only changed the entire setting, but also increased the stiffness during inclination, rearranging the front and rear stabilizers from the lower levers to the racks.
In Japan, less than a thousand Aerio is sold in a month, but still, in my personal opinion, this is one of the most outstanding compact Japanese models. I will be glad if, thanks to such a partial improvement, it will be better sold, and this is a sincere mood, not a compliment.
Exterior and interior
The attractiveness of the interior of the new Aerio is significant. The main project of the body and frame, of course, remained the same, but on the other hand, hands were attached to all other elements. In particular, the partition of the motor compartment received a single soft seal and refers to the highest class, even when compared with Mazda Demio, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, Honda Civic and other competitors. In addition, the block audio equipment + navigation system and air conditioner changed places. A very competent decision seems to be that the output of the air conditioner was placed at the upper level (the higher it is, the greater the effect occurs when cooling). It seems that a good taste is shown in the finish for silver not only the partitions of the motor compartment, but also the transmission lever and other parts.
The most attractive feature of Aerio is the height of 1545-1550 mm, which allows to be placed on multi-storey parking lots. The wheelbase (2480 mm) is somewhat shorter than that of the latest generation, and the rear seats are not too spacious, but due to a reduced length and more than enough space for the head, this fits perfectly into personal use within Japan. The luggage compartment of the hatchback, frankly, remained at the same level, because in addition to a decrease in length, preference was given to the floor to become flat when overturning the rear seats, and the height of the floor was increased.
However, the sedan has the floor lower, and the trunk capacity of 492 l (with incomplete drive) is at a high level in this class and is the largest pride in this modification. In addition, as I already wrote, the head restraints in the back seats can be more than enough even to regulate even me with a height of 178 cm.
Performance
The chassis of the new Aerio is also great, and you can probably say that the most attractiveness of the updated model is comfort for movement. The suspension easily absorbs acute irregularities on the road, like well -made French cars, and at the same time it has completely no shaky movements at ultra -high speed and on corners. The previous Aerio also had a relatively sports chassis, but the attention was attracted that instead, a sharp jump was felt in the above uneven areas. In the new Aerio chassis, previous virtues remained (or further), and unsuccessful moments completely eliminated. It is felt that, having implemented such running qualities with a short wheeled base, the Suzuki chassis also overcame a certain barrier.
Models equipped with 1.3 liters, 2.0 l and 2.3 liters are designed for the foreign market, and a pair of models with 1.5 liters and 1.8 liters to the Japanese market for the Japanese market. With a significant update of the interior and chassis, a 1.5-liter engine (installed on the front-wheel drive model) received the qualification of a super-low-nized exhaust (three stars), and the standards for fuel consumption for 2010 were reached, therefore, the machine is included in the green taxation system, which became great news ( But it should be said that changes regarding the engine were limited only to this). This time, Aerio significantly improved the real aspects, almost without changing the appearance, engine and other noticeable areas. We can say that this causes extreme sympathy.
I think that thanks to the current partial improvement, the degree of completion of Aerio has reached almost an impeccable level. Repeating, I will say that I would like its greater popularity and sellebility in Japan.
