Naturally, it was impossible to ignore such a car - this is a rare opportunity to get acquainted with the legendary car. A car that no racer can call a ponto or not powerful enough: the tongue will not turn. A car that won his glory in the sweat: on the routes of the world rally championship. And, in the end, by a car, which is delighted with all the tuningers of the world. Are you already interested?
 
Actually, if you stopped the photographs and read the paragraph before, then you have long been interested. It has long been interesting how monsters are obtained from the usual passenger car with a golf class that can shame the expensive central-engine supercar. I wonder why a machine with a 2.0-liter turbo engine can do any Brabus, and only superbikes can stay next to Subaru Impreza WRX.
 
First, let's clarify what Subaru is? Rather, than this brand stands out among others? Experts will call two main differences between Subaru and any other foreign car without any problems. The first is the presence of an all -wheel drive version of each model. The second is opposite motors with a horizontal location of the cylinders and a low center of gravity. There are still many small differences, such as door glass without frames or specific design, but the main ones are still unusual motors and all -wheel drive transmission. By the way, Subaru is very proud of.

It is also distinguished by a more powerful brake system (ventilated brake discs are installed not only on the front, but also on the rear wheels), as well as the wheels of a larger dimension. On the basic version are 15 -inch, and on WRX - R17, with tires 215/45. The dynamics of the model is also impressive: only 6 seconds need Impreza WRX to dial a hundred from a place. Weather conditions, as well as the quality of the road surface and the coefficient of its clutch in this case, as you know, do not play a decisive role. While the same 7.4-liter Brabus will spend its energy on the useless rotation of the rear wheels, Impreza will be far ahead. A constant all -wheel drive with Wyskoft is power!
 
But even the WRX becomes pale when another Subaru - Impreza WRX STI appears on the highway. The same car, only charged with a special division of STI (see insert). From all other Subaru, cars that have passed the refinement in the STI are distinguished primarily by the huge posterior anti -wing of an unusual shape. But there are more changes. The STI version of the version, with a constant working volume of 2.0-liter, gives out 265 hp, developing a torque of 343 nm at 4000 rpm. The design is similar to the usual WRX, with the exception of some nuances and configuration. For example, the WRX set the central and rear differentials of high friction, and on the STI there is also in the drive of the front wheels. The gearbox at the STI is six -speed, while other versions are content with five -speed. Hence, by the way, dynamics: 5.5 seconds! By the way, the same racer talked about an unusual attraction. Family hatchbacks, practically not different from serial counterparts, only with turbocharged engines and with all -wheel drive transmissions. The power has not yet been off, as today, although even then the rabid Coswort developed a power of 220 hp. - In the eighties, this was a revelation. But only the Japanese with their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Subaru Impreza Wrx guessed to make money on homologial cars. Their models are clearly produced by a much larger circulation than is necessary for admission to competitions. Take at least Impreza: while the basic 125 -horsepower version with our fire is not found with fire, almost every Impreza met - in the WRX version.

Tuning Subaru Impreza today is not involved only with the lazy: Japanese, Germans and even Russians. This is partly due to the cult status of the model, partly due to the relative ease of extraction of additional power. The design of the car itself implies a trouble-free increase in power without any serious financial investments. It is no secret that the bar is 280 hp. It was established only for the sake of Japanese law: more powerful cars to Japanese companies are simply prohibited from producing. But in Europe there are no such restrictions, so you can tunen the car very seriously. Already now there are cars whose capacity has been brought to 400 and even 500 hp, and Japanese tuners experience a 600-horsepower version!

The abbreviation STI deciphens as Subaru Technics International. This is the name of the corporate sports unit engaged in the preparation of Subaru brand for various competitions. It is also engaged in the release of civilian sports versions designed to homologue of a particular sports model. Only, unlike AMG and similar, the STI unit does not focus on a decrease in road clearance and improve controllability by installing a stiffer suspension. On the contrary: the clearance of the STI version is slightly larger than that of the usual impreza! It’s just that the essence of Subaru sports models implies a slightly different preparation than competitors. The machine is prepared as a rally: it has powerful lighting equipment, a fairly large clearance, energy -intensive pendants and a constant all -wheel drive. Plus, there are unlimited possibilities for tuning.

According to the rules of the world rally championship, only those models that were released in the amount of at least a few dozen copies are allowed to participate in competitions. Therefore, manufacturers who want to put powerful versions for competitions, structurally very different from serial models, had to make homologists. Naturally, far from all the bells and whistles available on a combat vehicle are also present on a homologation copy. There is no built -in safety frame, fire extinguishing systems, sectral checkpoints and much more. The essence is different: both constructively, both cars are approximately the same, and if desired, a real combat vehicle can be built from the homologer, which can be performed in competitions. Replace the brakes, strengthen the suspension, install the above security systems and - into battle. So, by the way, some Russian athletes act: they buy homologation and build a group of group N out of it. It turns out no worse.
