Subaru Impreza XV test drive: step forward

Subaru Impreza XV is already familiar to all Impreza, proudly erected in the station of crossovers. With the advent of this novelty, the Subaru official dealers have stopped sales of ordinary Impires.

From now on, the choice of Impreza has narrowed up to three components: the XV crossover, charged with WRX and ultimate WRX STI. On the one hand, this is the loss of a certain audience, and on the other, the appearance of new customers. Will Subaru Impreza XV have time to wedge into the recovery pace recovering at the crisis, or will it remain piece goods, with which there was a passenger modification?

Outwardly, Impreza XV differs, perhaps, only with a plastic body kit in a circle, which automakers love to highlight their pseudo -road versions from ordinary cars. The main changes lie in the bowels of the chassis. The Japanese used more rigid front and rear springs, and also installed thickened stabilizers and other silent blocks. As a result, the road clearance increased by 30 mm and amounted to 185 mm. It is not God the news, but for easy obstacles just right.

The Spartan Salon Impreza remained unchanged. Here is all the same oak plastic, a boring but recognizable design, three dull hands of a climatic installation and an archaic block of an audio system, which even in a top -end configuration with 10 speakers does not shine with a high -quality sound. But Subaru is not loved for this

The seats, as before, are perfectly satisfied and tenaciously hold the riders in any corner, the steering wheel is convenient, the simple tidy is perfectly read, and the lever of mechanical transmission right at hand. Of the ergonomic miscalculations, one can distinguish only the insufficient range of adjusting the steering column/chair of the driver in height, which is why even with my modest 176 cm of growth during landing I constantly touched the right knee on the steering column casing.

There is not much space in the back row, but for two average passengers are quite awarded. True, it will not work to surprise them. On the gallery there is neither a full -fledged armrest, nor blowlectors of blowing. You can’t call the trunk as a spacious one, the fault of this is a large loading height caused by the presence of a full -sized spare wheel and the design of the rear suspension.

Start key. A familiar rumble of a 2.0-liter Boxer opponent with a capacity of 150 hp begins to come from under the hood. And the lever of five -speed mechanical exercise is poured with pleasant vibration. Yes, yes, it’s pleasant. Even making a mass crossover, the company with the constellation of the galaxy on the emblem remains original and not like the rest that millions of fans around the world pulls to these cars as a magnet.

Despite the fact that with 40 km/h, the 150 -horsepower boxer pulls well even in the fourth gear, the bottom is clearly not the horse of the Subarovsky engine. The potential of the motor is manifested after 3500 rpm. Only without lowering the arrow below, you can get a decent dynamics from the engine, but in this case, the reckoning in the form of increased fuel consumption is inevitable.

Suspension class! Moderately elastic, moderately comfortable, moderately tough. Subaru holds perfectly on a high -speed straight line, actually ignoring the rut and buildup. The passage of the turn is accompanied by a moderate roll, but the stability does not go anywhere. You will enter a little faster, and the crossover pops up with all four wheels on the outer trajectory, after which the stabilization system extinguishes the demolition.

The layout of all -wheel drive has not changed. This is still the same system with a symmetrical center differential, which is one of the main Subaru chips. Added gas on the arc and Impreza XV obediently go into skidding. This time, the stabilization system makes it possible to step aside and intervenes a little later, allowing the driver to produce an effect on others.

The Subarovsk crossover does not graze at the intersection. The suspension clearly and without shaking works out both small and large bumps. Not every classmate Subaru Impreza XV can withstand such a load, while remaining comfortable and stable.

Subaru never differed in cheapness. Impreza XV was no exception. The cost in the Russian market starts from 999,900 rubles. The additional payment for automatic transmission is 30 thousand rubles. A top car with xenon, a two -dine audio system and an electrician will cost 1,124,000 rubles.

For a full -fledged crossover, the price is quite competitive. And for a hatchback, whose clearance was increased due to simple manipulations with a suspension, most likely a little expensive. Despite this, Impreza XV is still a true Subaru representative with a simple interior decoration, excellent handling, opposition engine and a famous symmetrical all-wheel drive.
