The Subaru name is associated primarily with sports or at least just dynamic cars. Their generic features are opposite motor, constant all -wheel drive and honed handling.

In 1997, the company surprised the attempt to unite all the listed in the family station wagon, adding a little off -road opportunities. The companies succeeded: already by 2003, more than 120,000 forever sold a quarter of all Subaru.
Forester is a large, but not a bulky family station wagon, easily accommodating five adults, okay in appearance, but without designer ventures. The salon is simple and functional, and the governing bodies are built according to the law that was secretly approved in Japan. There is everything you need, there is nothing superfluous: an adjustable steering column with two steering wheel switches, climate control unit, buttons knowing glasses, mirrors and a lock on a driver's armrest. The automatic gearbox selector with the switching button (standard, winter, sports), and the capabilities of a mechanical five -speed box expands the demultiplitor.
It is very convenient for drivers tall from 150 to 200 cm, in the salon and trunk there are many containers with lids. In general, everything is averaged. But the characteristic voice of the opposition motor resembles: this is still Subaru. On the asphalt, Forester is very reliable and quite cut, but if you go fast, they will become tangible to the rolls in corners. But on slippery coating, the forester pleases with the ease and accuracy of control. The off-road qualities of the foreman are not outstanding, but a decent road clearance and a permanent all-wheel drive with Vis-Mufta in the Interssex differential allow you to fearlessly go on lanes.

In general, the forester is reliable, universal, able to delight with sled qualities. It is only important to remember that Subaru is by no means cheap in servicing.

European analogue
Forester is the first all -around in the Subaru lineup. He appeared in 1997 and survived several modernizations of engines and transmission. The machines were supplied to Europe with three 22.5 l engines with a capacity of 125170 hp. In 2000, the appearance was slightly changed, in 2002, Forester was markedly modernized. Since 2004, a 210-horsepower 2.5-liter gasoline engine with turbochargeds has been included in the gamut. In 2005, the forester was updated again.
