For the sake of better handling and comfort in Subaru, the 2011 Forester changed the structure of the valves of the rear shock absorbers. Their damping reaction has become faster.

The main update under the hood is both atmospheric opposite engines with a volume of 2.0 and 2.5 liters became more economical and environmentally friendly. And, if the updated technical filling is laid by all Subaru Forester, then the full complex of innovations went to only the most powerful forester. But we will ride a 2.0XS labeling car with a 150-horsepower engine and a 4-range automatic machine in the YV combination for 1 192 500 rubles.

As before (still, because the strokes have changed a little), the car looks harmonious. A noble black color definitely goes a fit, albeit not spoiled by designer sorts of, crossover. But the renewal in the exterior of Forester will only notice the brand expert: new rear -view mirrors with built -in turning repeaters and a changed pattern of alloy seventeen -inch discs. A pair of new shades of body has been added to the palette of colors. Otherwise, the same good old Subaru crossover.

But in the salon of Subaru, Forester is still longing. The boring interior, qualitatively assembled from not the most expensive and hard plastic, refreshes only two details: a branded wave launched along the front panel from one to the other door, and a color display of a new audio system. In addition to various musical information, this display also displays the readings of the rear view camera. But to navigate the 4 -inch display, handing over in reverse, is not very convenient - small. In its place, the full-fledged multimedia system of 2-Din format is asked.

The two-liter versions did not get separate climate control: simple, although comfortable goals, are still placed in equal conditions of all those present in the cabin. There is no new dashboard with luminescent backlight. And the readings of the route computer, as before, are read only from a narrow display over the radio.

In the spacious rear of the cabin, everything is completely old. A convenient rear sofa with a folding armrest and cup holder did not undergo changes. Separate backs of the sofa can still be adjusted with a fixator at the base of the side of the seat and folded if desired by buttons from the luggage compartment. In general, the interior of the car is convenient, with ergonomics everything is in order here. But too simple. There is no way to get the feeling that you are sitting in a car of the eminent Japanese brand worth a lot for a million!

Maybe the car will show itself in the movement?! Of course, waiting from a 2.0-liter 150-horsepower opponent of miracles is not worth the dynamics. Moreover, in a tandem with the engine there is an automatic machine with four steps, which, by current standards for a car of this class, is almost a monoton. However, Subaru Forester 2011, not paying attention to our embarrassment, starts quite confidently. Moving in a calm city mode is very comfortable.

Moreover, comfort largely creates the same machine. Swings of stretched gears occur very smoothly. Sometimes it was even created that you were driving a car with a variator. But with intensive acceleration of the power unit, there is no longer enough. In addition, the closer the arrow of the tachometer is selected to the red zone, the more intrusive the engine noise becomes. After 100 km/h, aerodynamic noises help to blush the motor. But the fact that the new motor is economical is there is no doubt: in the first couple of hours of active test drive, the arrow of the indication of the level of fuel did not even fall into one division.
New engines provide the Forescence with a more smooth acceleration in the entire range of rotation of the crankshaft. Do you understand? The forester has become more economical and ... slower.

To manage a forester - especially on narrow winding roads is a sweet thing. Unless a little bit of feedback transmitted from the wheels through an electric power is a little. But the work of the suspension left a double impression. On the one hand, Forester without the slightest hint of a breakdown, swallowed unevenness of various calibers. And on the other hand, all these bumps were well felt by all those sitting in the cabin. And those who settled on the back sofa felt especially well. Judging by everything, engineers Subaru in an updated all -terrain vehicle, paid more attention to sled suspension settings, which will definitely appeal to more sophisticated drivers.

There are no changes in the design of the forester. And to fully evaluate the possibilities of the legendary all -wheel drive chassis, there was no possibility. A warm sunny day, dry, although not always even asphalt - how can you experience the maximum off -road characteristics of the car. But it is already clear that the element of the Subaru chassis is slippery, snowy and full turns the road on which the car will feel like a fish in water. And his driver, arriving in complete calm, will pass the next turn. In the summer, the Subaru Forester of the 2011 model turns into another of the Japanese all -terrain vehicles, no worse, but no better than others.

The hero of the cult movie masterpiece Robert Zemeckis, mentioned in the title of this publication, as well as Subaru Forester, was the perfect representative of his generation. Forest Gump did not change for forty years of his own life. Forester - does this regularly, however, only on paper. And then - on the glossy traces of the change is practically not to see ...
