The new Ssangyong Rexton attracts everyone except engine and transmission. Rexton is now sold in three performance. A car with an old 2.7xDi diesel engine, as before, is equipped with a rear unreasonable bridge and all-wheel drive according to the Part-Time scheme.

Looking at the new Rexton is much more pleasant. The style and conciseness of forms appeared. Is the front lattice inspired by Mercedes? Yes, and it looks great. You do not always need to invent something exclusively of your own. However, there is enough of his own car in the interior of the Korean car. I have not seen such devices yet: a speedometer with a sea wave light. Bold for the representative class, but surprisingly corresponds to the nature of the new Rexton. And for some reason I like it right away.









Inside the novelty, everything is comfortable, comfortable, pleasant to the touch and does not pinch his eyes. The steering wheel, of course, is plastic, not wooden, but plastic is not nasty, much more friendly in tactile than, say, a tree on which hands quickly begin to slide. The interior here generally quickly begin to feel your family and friends.
 

Designers did not shift the gloss, and the child, slightly staining the salon, is no longer an enemy. There is no neglect of human dignity: Homo sapiens is above the Korean machine. But the car is not bad. I like such harmony.
 

We are waiting for diesel
On our test, equipment with automatic transmission, AWD coupling and a gasoline engine 3.2 l. As soon as we went, it turned out that Rexton not only gives comfort, but also loves to be treated like an aristocrat politely, measuredly, smoothly. You twitch sharply with a steering wheel and it will react with a noticeable roll with displeasure. You will press an extreme brake into the rug, and it will answer: the extreme is not for the nobility. You will drive a kick-dowan in a fit of passion, and the box will pretend to be nearby so that the next time does not gnaw out.
 







When I decided to let this horse frast, I felt really something strange. Sound during acceleration! He hummed openly strained, like a vacuum cleaner that sucked a rag. After all, a good motor is 3.2 liters, the kindest Mercedes unit from the old ML. What's the matter? It turns out that the engine has long been not the one that was. It was thoroughly processed, imprisoned under the representative sedan of Ssangyong Chairman (which is not sold with us), and then they suddenly decided to put it on Rexton. The motor was very raised by the revolution bar, and now the peak of power falls at 6100 revolutions, and the maximum moment is reached at 4600. Passenger characteristics! So he is pushing, trying to disperse a heavy frame booth. While I try and squeeze the gas, looking at how lampposts still swim quite measuredly, he continues to go to his peak. The rise is heavy, and the peak is far away. Well, Ssangyong has a new diesel with more juper characteristics in the reserve. Soon and he will appear on our test.

Rexton constant all -wheel drive is implemented through an asivimetric differential of a planetary type. He distributes the moment in the proportion of 40/60 (per./Rear). There is no imitation of locks. But Rexton has a good clearance: 247 mm under the front axle and 263 under the rear, which saves the geometry of such a long transport. In general, I did not refuse to walk around the crossed area. Low -seat thresholds interfered a little, but, gently scolding them about the hills, I moved on. As expected, Rexton behaved quite comfortably, only because of the softness of the suspension he could not withstand a quick pace, reacting with longitudinal grades. Why rush? When descent from the mountain, the HDC system worked perfectly. In general, an exam at a crossroads as a SUV he passed.


I did not even try to go through the rut and get into a fragmented hole and I do not advise anyone. Preliminary exercises in the sand showed that without blocking is bad: we easily stuck and cheerfully skidded with a single wheel. Experiments with turning on-off ESP did not give a visible effect. So if you want an off-road on Rexton, choose a version with a rigidly connected front line.
 

On the way to the editor, it was possible to drive the pedal on the highway, accelerating to the most safe 180 km/h. The car holds the road perfectly, without deviating to the right or to the left. At speed, the steering wheel loses pampiness and is forcibly poured with heaviness. Only asphalt waves (the softness of a comfortable suspension) are embarrassed, but the buildup on them is far from frightening.


This car will find its fans both in design and in terms of comfort. There is only a question with the engine. You have to think tightly: do you need gasoline?
