Skoda Superb test drive: A business class without snobbery

What can change a person? Time, people, money, power of the list can be continued for a long time, but with difficulty you can include such an element of lifestyle as a car in this list. For five days lived with Skoda Superb, I was convinced of the opposite.
So my beloved Casual-style in clothes was replaced by a classic, in musical preferences Pop rock was replaced by jazz, and non-normative vocabulary towards non-in-vi-striping motorists restrained everyone with a clear diplomatic signal of the Hud. After such metamorphoses, the question was Skoda to create a business class car? Sprinkled overnight.
Parked next to the store, Superb quickly attracted the attention of the staff - guests from the near abroad. Confirming their guesses that this is an automatic machine and there is a car of more than 300 thousand rubles (apparently, for them this is a kind of limit of value), Super was awarded their highest assessment in a very emotional interjection. Respect for others is not an indicator of car representativeness?
I won’t reveal any secret: a class D car is not just a means of transportation, but a comfortable vehicle. And the first sign of comfort is a spacious salon. Its sizes can be measured in anything. Some men measure the distance by the proximity of the passengers on the right and behind, for me the most simple parameter is available from the driver's seat, thrown into the rear seat. And the more inconvenient to get it, the more comfortable to sit behind as a passenger. This small female Superb test was excellent.
I was always surprised how one simple detail could transform the whole picture. In the restrained design of Superb, chrome moldings became such elements and, in unison, echoing all the elements of the dashboard. Superb also offers all his passengers comfortable seats for travel. Sitting on a heated seat of light leather in individual air flows, leaning on a convenient armrest (in which, by the way, the cup holders are hidden), and tired of communicating with the driver, the rear passenger can entertain himself with a film or tracking the path laid by GPS on the central console display . Or, in extreme cases, read a book under a personal light bulb.
However, let's get back behind the wheel. It is a pleasure to manage Superb, and, despite the dimensions of the car, it remains rotten and in limited space. The DSG robotic transmission from the Volkswagen concern that has already managed to fall in love with me also invariably and without delay switches speed. The turbine is picked up somewhere after 70 km/h and along with the screech of the driver UII-huuu! From surprise, in the blood there is a small emission of adrenaline.

I can’t help but tell about my experience with a diesel fuel car in the person of Skoda Superb. When it was time for feeding, I went to one of the gas stations with small green Christmas trees and red lights. While I was dealing with the opening of the fuel tank cover, the driver, which was closest to me, was pulled by the driver, who settled down to the column from the other side. I had no choice but to use another gun. I wrote off the extreme severity of the hose for evening fatigue, and the gunpowder on the sizes of the pistol, apparently, are special pistols for diesel fuel. And what was my disappointment when, after 7 minutes of torment, I saw that the neighboring gun was a standard size. And the one that I used really special - for refueling by diesel fuel trucks.
The difference in the amount given for diesel fuel, with the cost of the same volume of AI 95, turned out to be insignificant. However, according to the test results, fuel consumption was 7.1 liters per 100 km, judging by the on -board computer. Economical? Very! Considering that in the heart of Skoda Superb a two -liter turbocharged motor is beaten with a capacity of 170 horsepower.
I think that I will not be very deceiving, saying that Skoda Superb is not rich enough to buy cheap things. The ensemble of electronics, running qualities, design and ergonomics, comparable to the price will become a significant argument when choosing a new car at a difficult time for a Russian buyer.
