During the GTS sled presentation in Russia, journalists were given the opportunity to grab Porsche for almost the entire range of Sports, and this happened near Stavropol, at an abandoned military training ground, which, fortunately, was preserved normal asphalt coating.
If the GTS is positioned as a car with a sports character, then in order to evaluate the innovations implemented in New Kayen, a comparison with real sportsmen is a great idea!
By and large, the competition in the niche of sports SUVs is not yet sufficient. Perhaps BMW X5, Range Rover Sport, Infiniti FX and to a certain extent Mercedes ML can be considered truly sports. Each of these cars can boast of a powerful engine, but not everyone can give the driver pleasure from honed controllability and feelings of the car.
Kayen, even in a simple configuration, is given. The new Cayenne GTS gives doubly. Highlight GTS suspension. This I completely felt on myself, moving along an interesting winding road proposed by the organizers for the test. You go into a protracted turn, gas to the floor, wait for the centripetal forces will begin to squeeze the car from the trajectory. An understanding is imposed that you are still going on an SUV: you involuntarily feel it by landing and distance to asphalt. The lateral rollers of a comfortable seat begin to work all over the strength, but Cayenne GTS goes after a look, and not for physics, while the SUV almost does not roll. A real athlete!
Wide dimensions of 295/35R21 and air suspension, which perfectly extinguishes transverse fluctuations and rolls, play a role. Of course, other sports SUVs have such things, but they do not go like that yet, except that X5.
Porsche would not have been Porsche if the new model had not received a new engine. For GTS, a V-shaped eight with direct fuel injection from S-ka was taken as a basis and increased the power of up to 405 hp, at the same time, however, retaining a torque of 500 nm. The increase was given by modernizing the intake system and increasing the size of the throttle.
Pressing on the intriguing SPORT button on the central tunnel of devices leads to the most magnificent sound, or rather, the roar of the exhaust system, which is inherent only to real sports cars. But this button is responsible not only for the sound. After pressing it, the already mentioned PASM system switches to a sports stiffness of shock absorbers, the air suspension installed for an additional fee and the chassis regulation system also go into sports.
The exciting sensations from passing Carrera 4s, Boxster S, and Cayman S are still fresh in memory, and the tracks built at the training ground, their understandable and correct habits in all respects, an amazingly accurate understanding of the car with only the thought of how to go in a turn to the final envelope The next cone but in the hands are already the keys to Cayenne GTS and 130 km of roads along the Stavropol.
Our path ran along the roads with asphalt of different quality. Unfortunately, there were more bad roads. The initial joy of good coating with incredible tenacity in corners and beautiful landscapes ended in a tough in traffic jams in Stavropol along the broken -down city streets. I must admit, GTS tolerates the hardships of bad roads worse than its other brothers on the off -road model range are harsh. But still, much softer than any Porsche sports coupe.

There is no comrade to taste and color, but the first option seemed boring to me and not for such a car. But the second, close to orange at the very point! Along with the aggressive appearance of the GTS in such a color, it literally does not allow you to take your eyes off.
About the salon can be said briefly and luxurious. Until now, however, a dubious layout of auxiliary buttons on the steering wheel causes a complaint. Why are they needed if you still have to tear off your hands from the rim?
Of the minuses of the car, I also note a rather sluggish reaction even in sports mode on Kick-Down at a speed of more than 80 km/h. When pushing the gas pedal from such a car, you expect more tangible acceleration.
Porsche Cayenne GTS costs about one and a half million rubles less than the Cayenne Turbo model: a rich basic equipment will cost at least 3,565,500 rubles. But who will buy this car? How justified is its appearance? It can be assumed that the potential buyers of GTS will be those who want to get an adequate replacement for a sports car for the winter. How many motorists are found? It can be assumed that all the owners of Porsche and its competitors. In principle, a niche for such a price category is quite significant.
Despite the fact that Cayenne can be called the most popular Porsche model among women, the Cayenne GTS model is unlikely to wake fame among the weak half, since not everyone will like its excessive rigidity.
It can be assumed that the GTS will become a model with which Porsche will try to assess the prospects of the release of a sports-universal crossover, something like a charged Audi Allroad or BMW X6.
The quota on the GTS in the Russian market is limited, so there is no doubt that it will be bought out.
