Everywhere cheap materials in the decoration, the lack of proper sound insulation and the abbreviated interservice mileage is a distinctive feature of almost all Mitsubishi models, from which Europeans turned their nose. And the appearance of the whole Trinity, despite the clear identification of the front part, did not like everyone.

In Russia, things were a little better. We even have a wooden wagon with a motor block will be in good demand if you write a Made in Japan on it. Often unreasonable, but not burned even with hot iron, the faith of Russians to the infallibility of everything that is brought from the Japanese archipelago, played into the hands of the French company. But only a little bit. The total sales of the French clones turned out to be several times (!) Worse than the Japanese donor, and even after all three began to be collected in Russia. Although the Peugeot 4007, unlike the outlander, is a little cheaper, more profitable in insurance and is not listed in any list of thefts. Why then is such a difference in sales results?

It turns out that between the three cars that differ, in fact, the hood icons, most Russians choose Outlander XL simply because it is Mitsubishi. And that's it. Not otherwise than the Japanese in the early nineties experienced some hypnotic weapon over the territory of Russia.

But the French did not give up, deciding to redo the smaller SUV, since it did not work out with a big one.

Rumors about the emergence of a more compact all -wheel drive car in the lion's family have been going on for a long time. There was information that Peugeot is developing an absolutely original model. A little later, the French admitted that they were doing the car nevertheless with Mitsubishi, but they would take the platform exclusively from the Japanese. The first teasers of the concept-cabin refuted and this information from the French makeup clearly came the contours of Mitsubishi ASX. And the serial PEUGEOT 4008 put up at the Motor Show in Geneva broke the last hope of the interior fully repeats the Japanese source.

The price list, which came shortly before the premiere, stated: Peugeot 4008 in Russia will be sold exclusively with a two-liter gasoline engine and all-wheel drive. You can choose between a mechanical gearbox and a variator, as well as one of the three levels of equipment.

Our ward, as they say - at the maximum clip. A fashionable snow-white color, chrome, an evil xenon look from under the LED eyebrows and 18-inch alloy wheels must be admitted that the French stylists, making up ASX, tried much better than when working on Outlander XL. PEUGEOT 4008 looks very good.

But the interior, with the exception of minor details, is one to one as in Mitsubishi ASX. In general, it is not bad. The quality of the finishing materials at an acceptable level, and with ergonomics, everything seems to be in order. In an expensive configuration with a leather salon, only a simple radio display confuses, and primitive washers of a single-zone climate control, which, however, is convenient to use. Tailing to the wheel is also not difficult: there are all the necessary adjustments of both seats and a steering column. And the rear passengers are not offended: the stock of space is enough for both legs and heads. But the home comfort that is felt in purebred Peugeot is not in the Japanese interior 4008.

With a high degree of probability, it can be assumed that the Peugeot 4008 (Citroen C4 Aircons) is the last experiment of the French with Mitsubishi models. Their approach to creating cars, different specifics and, accordingly, the contingent of customers, in order to offer one to the other, is too different. The French from Renault, by the way, understand this and do original models on a technical basis of Nissan.

And as for the next PEUGEOT crossovers, we will most likely see them on one of the General Motors platforms. It is not profitable for none of the manufacturers to develop new models on your own ...

The most expensive performance by Allure can only be bought with an automatic transmission for 1,261,000 rubles. It will go into the equipment: a leather finish of the cabin with an electric drive of the driver, a non-clogging access system and the engine starting with a button, 18-inch wheels, and xenon headlights will be complemented by LED light light lights. Not the most successful combination of the engine and automatic gearboxes of the Peugeot 4008 gearbox, they definitely include us to the version with five -speed mechanics. It is the mechanical box that will largely be able to reveal the potential of the engine.

Well, out of two possible mechanical versions, Active looks the most interesting, which, in our opinion, has the most balanced list of equipment. We do not recommend installing aesthetic 18-inch wheels with low-profile rubber as an option. And without that, not the softest car will become even tougher.
