Generally speaking, I am not very pleased with my current car. Whatever they say, but Dodge Caliber is a cool machine! Very unusual and aggressive outwardly, it is also very convenient, at least for me. High landing and large road clearance help a lot in the conditions of such a metropolis as Moscow. And the visibility is good, and there are no problems with parking. In addition, the car has a completely roomy salon and a large trunk. Personally, I have enough capabilities of the basic 1.8 -frail engine, and even a manual gearbox does not raise any questions. I am also pleasing that Dodge turned out to be a very reliable car for the service, I drove only for planned service. During one of these trips, I drew attention to the unusual and very original externally Jeep Compass car. The car clearly stood out against the background of classmates. Well, since it was time to update the fleet, I decided that without trying on such an unusual crossover it would not do. For the company I decided to look at the popular Toyota Rav4. Firstly, I always liked this car, and most importantly, it is extremely interesting to compare the capabilities of Jeep with the Japanese bestseller.
Unfortunately, at the Chrysler-Jeep representative office we were told that at the moment the sales of the Compass I liked are suspended, but in March-April an updated version of the car will appear. Well, in anticipation of a hot new product, you can try on the dorestyled Jeep Compass.

As I said, I always liked Rafik a very attractive car. Moreover, after a recent update, the Japanese crossover, it seems to me, has become even prettier. The new design of the front added to the machine to some meaningful severity and solidity. And most importantly, this car alive looks much more spectacular and overall than in the photographs. The reverse side of the popularity of RAV4 is a huge number of these crossovers traveling along our roads. At any time of the day and nights, in any yard and on every street you will meet someone on exactly the same car. Frankly, this moment is not too happy. The Rafiki acted in such quantities that no one pays attention to those who are driving these cars. It's a pity
Toyota salon also wants to only praise. The updated dashboard came out pretty, and the radio tape recorder is just a charm! The display is equipped with a touchscreen function, so it is very easy to control all functions. It is great that the menu is both in Russian to the menu and color navigation in Russian. True, I did not quite like the volume increase button located on the left side of the steering wheel. It is not very convenient to reach her. In my opinion, the volume lever is more logical to be located at the wheel to press it with the back of the palm. But in general, the salon makes the most favorable impression. The elegant climate control buttons, a beautiful leather steering wheel illuminated from the bottom, behind which the gear ears are hidden and everything is thought out and everything is to the place.
Salon and trunk dimensions? At the level. I will not say that it is very spacious here, but for us my husband and I have enough space, and a place for a children's cradle was found without problems. What puzzled was the fifth door of Toyota, which opens to the side. Firstly, the handle is located from the side of the roadway, in my opinion, this is not very safe. Anyway, when the trunk opens up, it is more convenient to load overall objects.
The dynamics for a 2 -liter car with a variator is very good. RAV4 is quite confidently accelerating, even on a slippery road. Well, if you press the Sport button located on the left side of the torpedo a little behind the steering wheel, then the car begins to go even faster. Although in the cabin it immediately becomes noisy, because the engine works at high speeds. I liked that the all -wheel drive transmission does not require any commands from the driver and, as they say, works itself. No need to remember information about the operating modes of all -wheel drive smart electronics when you need to connect the rear wheels. As a result, the car is very obedient and reliable in management. The wheels appeared noisy, but his car stood his studded rubber, so this is normal.

The car is attractive, there are no words. But why is Rav4 so much on our roads?! It's a shame!

I liked him even at a fleeting look, and with a closer acquaintance he simply conquered. How? First of all, with its dissimilarity to other cars. A real non -conformist who, under no circumstances, will not be lost in the crowd! In the guise of this car, everything is surprising and pleasing. The branded jeep grid of the radiator, the original decision of the stern, hidden hind hands. It is great that Compass is literally recognizable from all points of view: in front and back, on the side and in three quarters. Five for design!
Our Compass was in the tuning body kit Rally Package, which is very much to the face of a car. Black wheels, a more embossed front bumper and additional fog lights look very impressive. The elegant anti -wing on the edge of the fifth door, and the diffuser in the lower part of the rear bumper do not spoil the appearance. And finally, the color of Khaki’s military shade, in my opinion, is simply magnificent. Even during a short trip driving Jeep, I felt that I was the center of attraction on the road. They constantly look at the car and at me, and this is really great.
The salon did not disappoint either. Perhaps the quality of the finish in RAV4 is higher, but there are no special complaints to Compass. All controls are logically located, the seats were very convenient, and I liked something in Jeep even more than in Toyota. For example, the joystick of the musical system is located behind the steering wheel just the way I like, a double glove showed practical. Its upper part is not closed with a lid, and in a traffic jam, it is easier, say, to get a napkin or some other trifle. Heating of the seats is the same as Rav4, two -stage. And only Compass radio tape recorders looks simpler than on a Japanese car. But the trunk is very good. Even the wheel arches setting inside do not spoil it, the baby stroller fit without problems, and there is still a place left! And this jeep rides great! Under the hood is quite powerful, issuing 170 horses, a 2.4 -linen motor, which is paired with a unavailable variator. I liked that acceleration is very easy to manage. If you smoothly press the pedal, the car does not tear anywhere and goes at a measured pace, but if you need to add, I just give it to gas more hard, and Compass is simply carried away. This box provides for manual switching mode, but is it necessary, if everything works as it should?

My choice
Frankly, I cannot make a single serious claim to Toyota Rav4. But it is worth considering how much RAV4 is exactly the same RAV4 along the streets of our cities, and immediately becomes sad. That is why, with all the advantages of Toyota, I am still inclined to buy Jeep Compass. I am completely satisfied with the consumer qualities of this car like the spaciousness and convenience of the salon. But most importantly, such unusual and bright cars on the market will vime, and talent is worth it from the crowd of a dear. By the way, I managed to look at the photos of the updated version of Compass, and I realized that the issue in favor of Jeep was completely resolved!

If you abstract from the design of crossovers and forget about the inconsistent level of popularity RAV4 and Compass in Russia, then the advantage of the Japanese model will become obvious.
