Calm, only calm!

The first truly Korean cars did not appear from scratch, but became the fruits of selfish love of national interests and Western technologies. Therefore, they were well -known cars in the whole world, which differed from the originals exclusively by names.

 

But the current Koreans are mostly absolutely original cars that have nothing to do with cars produced in other parts of the world. Recently presented at the Frankfurt Motor show Daewoo Lacetti, the latest product of the Korean automotive culture. However, without foreign intellectual capital, it was not done here.
 
To understand where the wheels grow from, let's look in 1992, when the distant ancestor Lacetti Espero came off the assembly line of the Daewoo Motor factory. The body from Bertone hid the mechanics from Opel Ascona. In 1997, the outdated Espero replaced Nubira, which was already painted by other Italians, from the Italdesign studio.
The Lacetti presented in November 2002 at the Seoul Motor Show was built on the new front -wheel drive platform. The car can be equipped with four gasoline motors with a volume of 1.4 to 1.8 liters. Soon they promise to make a two -liter four and Giemovsky V6, as well as a turbodiesel. Each individual market has its own engines: for example, in Russia, cars with a one and a half liter engine with a VIS gas distribution phase system are offered so far.

The car looks quite modern, in addition, the characteristic grate of the radiator has already become one hundred percent recognition of the Daewoo car. Plus, large transparent headlights, sharp edges, clearly defined wheel arches are now worn. Another touch to the Lacetti portrait is the highest quality of fitting details to each other. But this is already the merit of not Italians, but by the Koreans themselves.
 
The salon of the car does not complain of the equally high level of quality! Solved in light colors, he visually makes the car from the inside more than from the outside. Seats light brown skin, expensive plastic of the central panel and doors upholstery. The plastic is cheaper by the tree, however, not too skillfully. By and large, in the Lacetti salon there are no details that would make you gas, but in general the interior looks very decent. Perhaps the main minus of the absence of a brilliant emblem on the steering wheel, an element that is now considered a sign of a good tone. The driver’s landing is optimal: the seats are convenient, the controls in their places.
 
In the movement about dynamic driving, when a machine gun operates in pairs with a one and a half liter engine, especially by a golf class car, you don’t have to speak. Rather, this is movement. Acceleration is a rather sluggish car accelerate reluctantly, with a lazy one. The automatic box has an adaptive algorithm of work, but this practically does not affect the accelerated dynamics that the engine is difficult. In addition, the machine is equipped with an anti -wings system, but very lazy: regardless of whether it is included or not, when accelerating on slippery coatings, the car willingly tears the drive wheels into slipping.
Lacetti is adapted for calm driving despite a good reactive force on the steering wheel. In corners, the car prefers to roll more than to steer: the first answer to the tilt force attached to the steering wheel, and only then does the machine begin to change the trajectory. But the smoothness of the course is quite decent small and medium irregularities go unnoticed. But when working, the rear suspension makes sounds that are clearly distinguishable against the general background behind many Koreans. But the brakes were good without reservation.

  

Lacetti is a really big step in GM Daewoo to improve its cars. Modern design, decent assembly quality, an impressive list of options, an extensive gamut of engines all this is vital for a strong play in the market. But all of the above positive fades against the background of price. Twenty -five and a half thousand dollars! You did not disgrace, we have not been sealed, just as much costs of one and a half -liter Lacetti with an automatic machine. For comparison: so much is asked for two Vsevolozhsk focuses or for three Nexia. The basic car is estimated at $ 19000 ALREADY A very considerable figure. Apparently, it remains to wait for the full production of these machines on UZ-Daewoo and their price will decrease to the promised $ 13,000. Only getting rid of the prohibitive price, the Korean-American car with the Italian name will receive a residence permit.
