The conceptual car of the pre-production Audi Allroad Quattro was represented in 1998 and immediately interested the audience not so much appearance as the technical side. And although the Quattro all -wheel drive was on most cars of the concern, Audi offered something more than an all -wheel drive station wagon. The car had to compete in a new class for themselves, where at that time Swedish and Japanese models settled.

The first -generation Audi Allroad is a seriously redesigned A6 Avant. Outside, the car received expanded wheel arches, plastic protection was installed in a circle. Active air suspension with the possibility of regulating road clearance includes serial equipment. Audi engineers managed to combine the seemingly incompatible: the comfort of the sedan, the dynamics and habits of the sports car, and some crossovers can envy the capabilities of the off -road.

Cars with a Russian residence permit, on the one hand, have a transparent service story that can be checked if desired, and on the other hand, our operating conditions greatly affect the condition of vehicles. In any case, before purchasing a mileage car, a thorough examination of its condition is simply necessary.

Only three engines were installed under the hood of Audi Allroad. The line of gasoline engines opens the V6 Biturbo with a volume of 2.7 liters (250 hp). This unit is distinguished by outstanding elasticity in almost the entire revolution range due to the presence of two turbines. Thanks to this decision, the motor has practically no so -called turboyam. As a result, the acceleration of a projectile weighing two tons occurs less than 8 seconds to hundreds.

The unit itself is quite reliable, but it is very demanding of competent and timely maintenance. The complexity of the design and the mass of attachment equipment that requires large runs of service and repair can unpleasantly surprise even a rather wealthy owner. So, it is necessary to constantly monitor the level and condition of the oil and do not immediately jam the motor after an active ride, but it is better to install a turbotimer. Otherwise, you can get to the replacement of turbines, the cost of which is simply astronomical about $ 5000 per pair in the original version (it is recommended to change both at once). When using non -original parts of good quality, expenses can be reduced by more than doubled. Another $ 700 must be given for work. Indeed, to replace turbines, it is necessary to remove the motor. With competent operation, they usually go more than 200,000 km.

Every 90,000 km, it is necessary to change the timing belt with rollers and tensioners. Since when replacing you have to perform a large amount of work, the masters recommend replacing the pump at the same time. As a result, the amount of about $ 1000 runs up. Candles withstand about 30,000 km on our gasoline and devastate the wallet by another $ 180.

Motor V8 with a volume of 4.2 liters and a capacity of 300 hp. It may seem more loyal to the wallet of its owner. After all, there are no expensive turbines, and the timing drive is carried out using a chain. If you do not overheat the unit and change the oil in a timely manner, then it is able to retreat more than 500,000 km. However, such specimens are much more expensive in the secondary market. It must also be borne in mind that gasoline consumption with active ride can safely reach 30 liters. And the oil consumption is about 500 grams per thousand are considered the norm. If you ride with a reduced level of oil, you can get to replace the hydraulic compensators (40 pieces) about $ 1000.

A diesel TDI V6 with a volume of 2.5 liters can have 180 or 163 hp under a hood. Depending on the settings and year of release. The unit has excellent traction characteristics, especially on the bottoms, and the consumption of diesel fuel is almost half as much as that of gasoline versions. It is this motor that makes the content of the machine quite economical in Europe. In Russia, its resource falls several times due to poor-quality diesel fuel. The Torsen mechanical center differential, equipped with an electronic blocking system, under the usual conditions transmits torque in a ratio of 50:50, and in the case of slipping, it throws up to 2/3 of the moment to the bridge requiring support. The main rule of operation is not to put different rubber, otherwise the differential will perceive this as a slip and will quickly fail.

Active air suspension with the possibility of regulating road clearance allowed Audi to put many crossovers on the shoulder blades. Indeed, in the most possible upper position, the clearance reaches 208 mm (used to overcome obstacles at minimum speed). The remaining three provisions depend on speed: up to 80 km/h 192 mm, from 80 to 120 km/h 167 mm, and after reaching 120 km/h, the machine drops to 142 mm. Thanks to the presence of pneumatics, engineers managed to achieve excellent smoothness, which positively affected comfort. However, with all the pluses of the suspension, a large spoon of tar is the cost of its elements. This is especially true for the pneumatic part. So, if you often ride outside the asphalt, then pneumoballons are the first to suffer ($ 650 apiece, $ 500 rear). Getting down with mud, they eventually lose their tightness. So that the elements do not fail prematurely, it is recommended to constantly remove dirt from them during the sink. In winter, ice is often the cause of depressurization, which sooner or later wipe the cylinder. A ride with tanning cylinders will be out of order of a compressor of air suspension, the cost of which is about $ 2000.

Do not forget about the mechanical part. Here, too, it will not work much to save. Naturally, the walnut of the four -leaf aluminum suspension directly depends on the operating conditions. The front suspension levers change on average after 60,000 km (the upper $ 120 per lever, the lower $ 250). Closer to 100,000 km can die shock absorbers ($ 410 front, $ 500 rear). Tips of steering rods wear out approximately every 50,000 km ($ 150 with work). The back suspension was stronger than the front. Unlike the new Audi Allroad, mileage copies are not in great demand due to the high cost of service and spare parts. Hence the pretty attractive price tag of used options. The price range for AlloD starts from 450,000 rubles for the car of the first years of release and ends closer to 850,000 rubles for the 2005 car.

Audi Allroad Quattro went to the series in 1999. The first attempt by the concern to win the market of increased passage of premium class was successful. The car was willingly disassembled, despite the clearly high price tag. Initially, the 2,7 Biturbo gasoline engine (250 hp) and a 2.5 -liter turbodiesel (180 hp) were put on Allroad. In addition to the machine, a mechanical box with a lowering gear was available. In 2002, he debuted a 4.2 -liter V8 motor, aggregated only with a five -speed automatic. Since mid -2003, a diesel engine could have a power of 163 hp.

In 2006, the second generation of the model appeared. The gamut of engines has expanded significantly. Three gasoline engines were offered a choice (3.2 FSI 255 hp, 3.0 TFSI 290 hp and 4.2 FSI 350 hp) and two diesel engines (2.7 TDI 180 hp. and 3.0 TDI 233 hp).

Since 2009, the younger A4 ALLROD model has become available. The gamut of the engines opens a gasoline 2.0 TFSI (211 hp). Following are diesel engines 2.0 TDI (170 hp) and 3.0 TDI (240 hp).
