Audi launched all -wheel drive sedans into civil circulation and looked for a long time what was going out with this. However, in the dispute of the front and rear-wheel drive apparatuses it became clearer. But the rest of the manufacturers began to think in this direction. And then 4matic was created. We decided to see how these animals sneak on their four soft paws along our roads.
The Audi A6 Quattro was dried up, which means all-wheel drive in Russian. A typical, I must say, winter machine. Especially the new, 2005 model year. It is not shameful, I think, to be in such a car after a large -scale corporate party. Still, $ 60 thousand more.
In winter, what does the Russian need, I mean, except for a quick ride? First of all, of course, that the vehicle stands well; then - so that it is warm and convenient in it; Finally, so that in traffic jams, which in winter is significantly more than in the summer, it was boring.
As for a quick riding, A6 Quattro is all right - a speed of more than 240 km/h. Up to hundreds-eight with something seconds. The motor, however, is three -liter from the previous generation. The one that took his place in Europe is with direct injection, and therefore he is not yet supplied to us. This immediacy is extremely sensitive to fuel quality, and gasoline in Russia is already found very diverse. It's a shame that the best is not available to us, but we will have to be distracted from this feeling and be satisfied just good. And this three -liter six is \u200b\u200breally good, and if you count the money, then this option may seem optimal for A6: not as expensive as with V8, and a little faster than with a base of 2.4 liters. In addition, the engine with some history reduces the cost of maintenance and repair - not necessarily money, more often time to wait for spare parts, for example.
The only thing: the motor sounds somehow not as cool as the hurricane car is supposed to be. Apparently, this is already irreparable - it is unlikely that even the most notorious brother, if he reaches such a level of well -being that he can buy a new A6, will spoil the exhaust gas production system with a bucket with a bucket with a bucket.
Now about standing. The previous A-sixth were of different sizes-a little larger, slightly smaller, depending on the modification; The new ones will be all the same in the dimensions, and the wheels are spaced away from the geographical middle of the car, so that in theory it should resemble a Japanese stool 15 cm high with stability and, I note with pride, resembles. The most slippery, kamazami, a turn near the summer cottage A6 calmly passed at a speed of 110 km/h.
We have a little searching for the roads between the Kyiv and Kaluga highway: the car fits perfectly into all these pseudo -German bends, tractes and crooked descents. Audi has some particularly active ESP there, which allows you to not be afraid of anything at all.
I specifically in the evening drove into the training parade ground of some kind of driving school and tried to put an A-sixth into a skid. It turned out that this is possible even without disconnecting ESP, but it turns out scary, although beautiful: chemically altered yellow and brown leaves soared with a whirlwind into the blue sky and gradually covered the black dusty body ... On the one hand, it is wonderful that the car is so safe and calm: any pensioner will be delighted with her driving; On the other hand, it is some kind of very stubborn and independent in its calmness, all driver's emotions go like a cotton wool, and even a rapid jerk from a traffic light does not cause the slightest joy.
And one young lady noted the lack of extravagance in the appearance of the new Audi. The increased predatory and muscles declared by the manufacturer were not seen by it completely, but the plastic tree inside is very even. But I liked the upholstery skin - stroked, smiled.
Mercedes E320. Mercedes E320 with a 4Matic all -wheel drive route is an adequate response of German designers to those who still doubt the ability of rear -wheel drive cars to transfer the difficulties of the Russian winter, multiplied by the helplessness of utilities. The all -wheel drive adjustable by electronics (it is the computer that decides what load to give on the front wheels) should give E320 additional stability on a slippery or snowy road. And this despite the fact that the suspension and aerodynamic characteristics of the new E320 remained the same Mercedes. To describe how this car holds the road, the expression is quite suitable for the spot. It is impossible to confuse the ride on a Mercedes with nothing: it feels that it is glued to the roadway and shinging it as difficult as to blame the sumo wrestler.
Of course, all -wheel drive demanded certain sacrifices. First of all, the accelerated characteristics were injured - the car does everything slowly, carefully, as if John Paul II was sitting in the salon. In sports mode, the car starts hardly more frozen. In a word, about making the five BMW or A6 on the traffic light, you can forget. But is this the main thing in the Mercedes, captivating precisely smoothness and comfort of driving? Moreover, having accelerated, you find out: the 320th has a huge supply of power and move. Overboard - all in cracks and patches the coating of the Shelepikhinsky bridge. On the speedometer - 140 km/h, the machine has not yet switched to increased gear, and in the cabin - only a weak noise of the motor. And all the same confident adhesion to the road and excellent handling.
Perhaps this is just a trick of vision, but in the new body of the E320 it seems slightly smaller than its predecessor. The car looks lighter, more compact and swift, without losing the characteristic Mercedes of solidity. There is also a change in the cabin, and changes for the better.
In general, the comfort and ergonomics of Mercedes not to occupy. Of the pleasant functions in the E320, for example, the driver’s chair is fully controlled using electronics (up to adjustment of the headcolin position) and separate climate control not only for the front, but also for the rear passengers. The steering wheel is regulated in four directions using electronics, so finding a convenient position is not difficult.
Some Mercedes chips remained the same as many years ago. Light and wipers are also included (in the new E320 to the right of the steering wheel there is still no control lever), the car is put on the manual brake with the same left pedal.
In the ranking of Moscow show-offs, the new E320 should be somewhere at the end of the first-beginning of the second dozen, inferior to other German cars of higher classes, jaguars, as well as different ferrari and other expensive and sports cars. It is clear, however, that this is not a reason to refuse to buy such an excellent machine as the new Mercedes E320. Yes, and that in the end the bad thing is that on E320 it is not a shame to appear in public. The only thing to take into account: you can no longer go to the Kremlin or the White House on such a car. That is, of course, it is possible to go, but the effect will be not the same. The inhabitants of these places prefer to use large black cars, preferably armored and with flashing lights. In addition, the guard jeep near the E320 will look somewhat comical.
Audi A6 Quattro. Large, full -fledged joy gives a stay on the new A6 in traffic. The constructive features and engineering automotive thought has nothing to do with the slightest relationship, but since the further, the greater the control of the machine comes down to the ability to configure the audio system for a particular disk or radio station, you have to test this part of the machine.
For a very long time I sorted out buttons and streams, with which all the local audio-, the video was controlled. For research considerations, he did not read the manual for users, but the A6 was automated as it should, so as long as she herself brought me home, I sorted out on this issue on the way - and figured it out. I even learned to tune in to the frequency of my favorite radio station!
Only a desire to listen to a compact disc-could not find a gap where to stick it to a dead end.
