On the winding landtrasse, one small but unpleasant line of A8 Hybrid appeared. The gearbox in order to save fuel quickly climbs to the eighth step and is in no hurry to jump from there when the speed begins to fall. As a result, the turnover of the crankshaft decreases so much that it ceases to grab the torque, and the motor transfers vibration to the body. Fortunately, they are not felt from behind, but, as they say, the sediment remained. Of course, you can choose a sports regime, but then you can not dream of saving fuel.
Needless to say, we have not reached the declared 6.3 l/100 km in the mixed cycle? Feasts on an autobahn and a good pace of traffic on secondary roads doubled appetite! But in the future, we managed to reduce it to 10.8 l/100 km, extremely delicately treating the gas pedal. And this is still a lot, even if we practically did not use the start-stop function, as we rarely stopped. And what will happen in winter, in the cold, when the battery capacity falls noticeably? We already know the response to the test Q5 Hybrid in Moscow, with great difficulty, I was able to lower the consumption of at least 15 l/100 km. However, the Hybrid A8 should consume a little less. Why? Firstly, it is easier (1870 kg versus 1985 kg), and, secondly, it is front-wheel drive!
Therefore, the Russian prospects of the A8 Hybrid will hardly be rainbow. In Europe, A8 HYBRID will be bought mainly in corporate parks. In this case, the savings on environmental taxes and fuel consumption, multiplied by the number of machines, will be significant. Although, for example, a meeting at the Airport of a Troika couple with large suitcases can already become a significant part of the luggage volume of the trunk. In the light of the next attempts to transfer officials to domestic assembly cars, there will be no hope and do not produce Audi public procurement in Russia.

But A6 Allroad Quattro takes other comfort for the soul. The autobahn is at least noise, neither tires nor whistle of dissected air strain.
The standard equipment of the Audi A6 Allroad Quattro includes a pneumatic suspension with a variable clearance. You can increase the clearance by 35 mm to 80 km/h, and the driver has an additional 10 mm on off -road (up to 35 km/h). And the smoothness of the course. We translate the Audi Drive Select into Comfort mode and forget about everyone else forever. It is not for nothing that the air suspension is included in the standard equipment even on the optional 19-inch wheels in the A6 Allroad Quattro does not shake, the car is much more comfortable than the same Q5. Although, of course, it was difficult to find bad roads in the vicinity of Nekarzulm. There was not even an off -road site in our route! True, in fairness, we note that we have chosen the shortest, 50-kilometer path to travel on all versions. It is a pity, because the all -wheel drive here is real with a self -locking interdose differential. In standard traffic modes, it transfers 60% of the thrust to the rear axle, but is able to increase this value to 85%. It can transfer up to 75% to the front, if necessary. An interwoven rear self -block is also available as an option.
Having rushed to the parking lot, we move into a car with a three -liter turbodiesel (245 hp, 580 N ∙ m). The speaker is slightly older, the sound is a little simpler. But otherwise there are no complaints. No increased noise, nor more rough work of S Tronic, there are also uncomfortable vibrations. As if not diesel at all. But the consumption speaks for itself 9.7 l/100 km against almost 13 in the gasoline version! And most importantly, on the winding paths, the diesel A6 Allroad Quattro I liked much more than 3.0 TFSI. Why?

The point is the steering. Despite the 19-inch wheels with the Hoodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 tires, we were not able to quickly get used to a low feedback level. You enter into a turn, and there is no unequivocal effort on the steering wheel, you constantly have to wind the steering wheel or dissolve. And this, regardless of the Audi Drive Select mode, was transferred to Sport and Individual, and even to Efficiency, when the machine goes into an economical algorithm of work, reducing the efficiency of climate control. Weird
Diesel A6 Allroad Quattro is like another car! Even in comfort, the steering wheel is much more informative here. We were also convinced of this on the example of the top version of Ollroad with 3.0 TDI, equipped with two turbines. Hurricane! 313 mares are taken from a place in the quarry, accelerating the A6 to hundreds in 5.6 seconds, and the thrust of 650 N ∙ m forced the engineers to install an eight -band machine instead of the S Tronic robot. And the sound! Special acoustic chambers in the release are bash as if under the hood V8. It's nice, but after half an hour, a constantly tambouring exhaust begins to tire at low speeds. Fortunately, it can be turned off in the Drive Select menu.
Since 1999, 140 thousand of two generations have diverged around the world. The station wagon of the Audi has always been a niche car. Therefore, direct competitors in this small segment have only two Subaru Outback A6 Allroad QUATTRO is almost half the cheaper (from 1,343,800 rubles for the basic version from 2.5 from manual transmission to 2,117,000 rubles for modification 3.6R with a variator) and has no diesel engines, Therefore, only Volvo XC70 remains (from 1,407,000 rubles per car with a 163-horsepower diesel and automatic transmission up to 2,220,000 rubles for the flagship XC70 T6)
And again the same route, the same roads, the same speed and the same unambiguous responses with a constant level of comfort! But after the gasoline version, we finally convinced that the A6 Allroad Quattro car for calm and comfortable trips, and the driver should not try to attack the turns. It turns out that he really is Allroad? But why is such a difference in sensations? Fortunately, we managed to catch on the site of Yorga Stain from the A6 Allroad Quattro chassis department and have already prepared notebooks to write down all the differences in the settings. But it turned out that they were not! The spread in the mass of gasoline and diesel V6 is not so great as to change the calibration of shock absorbers, springs and steering wheel amplifier. And the tires differed only on 313-horsepower modification (the same size, but another manufacturer).
Apparently, the whole thing is in a particular copy, for at the dinner of his colleagues who got the same white station wagon, shared similar sensations. The cars are pre-production, so there may well be a small discrepancy in the characteristics. And the conveyor A6 Allroad QUATTRO native to NEKARZULM will appear on sale in May. And prices have already been determined by a 245-horsepower diesel engine costs from 2,530,000 rubles, and gasoline (310 hp) is a hundred thousand more expensive. Exactly between Q5 and Q7 with three -liter TDI. Basic modification with deformed up to 204 hp 3.0 TDI, as well as the 313-horsepower biturbo-diesel, we will not be offered. As for a hybrid eight, it will at best come to Russia in the fall. And, unlike the A6 Allroad Quattro, they hardly wait for her with open arms.
