Comments:

Lupo turned out to be a solid car, providing passengers to comprehensive protection. The structure of the body has kept integrity, and the driver's door has opened normally after the frontal impact. The driver's front airbag coped with his task, however, perhaps worked at the limit of its capabilities. Protection when hitting the side was satisfactory, but the manufacturer decided to also finance and test the car with side airbags. The child seat for a 3-year-old passenger was installed in the ISOFIX fastening on the back row of seats.

Front punch:

The load on the pectoral sediments was commendable for a car of this size. A metal plate covered with soft plastic was fixed under the steer column. This pad was due to protect the driver's knees, but even if there is such a design on the top of the legs, a large load was carried out and the threat of penetrating knee injury was preserved.

Security of passenger children:

The front airbag of the front passenger was included in the basic bundle, and the manufacturer had to seriously treat the danger when placing a children's chair "against the direction of movement" at this place. In the cabin there was only an incomprehensible pictogram and a text message on the windshield, which can easily break away. However, none of the reports mentioned the possibility of obtaining a child life-threatening injury. The 18-month passenger was located in a universal chair established by "against the direction of movement", which better manifested itself with a frontal blow, rather than with lateral. The 3-year-old armchair kept the load on his chest during the safe limits, but could not prevent excessive movement of the head forward during the frontal impact and to hold it in its limits at the side.

Side strike:

In the lateral blow, the car provided an acceptable level of protection, but some risk of injury to the chest is preserved. The manufacturer decided to prove the effectiveness of side airbags and financed the additional test of the car with them. And indeed, with them Lupo became the safest car of its class from all previously tested.

Pedestrian safety:

The results of pedestrian protection turned out to be average for modern cars, but the front part turned out to be too solid to protect the legs of pedestrians.
