Sables of up to 2.8 tons, unified with heavier gazelles, have been released since 1998, updated in early 2003 (ZR, 2003, No. 4).
The family includes GAZ 2217 minibuses with a capacity of six to ten people, a triple cargo and seven -seater cargo -passenger van GAZ 2752 with a low or medium roof. Passenger modification with comfortable seats and a low roof is called Barguzin. So far, a decision has not been made on the serial issue of the on-board GAZ-2310 (ZR, 2002, No. 1) with a carrying capacity of one ton.
A 2.3-liter gasoline engine ZMZ-406 is mainly installed on the Sable family cars. The GAZ-560 turbodiesel 2.1 liters (Steir License) will probably be replaced by the Iveko unit.
Since the beginning of this year, the plant of small series, and since May, the assembly of all -wheel drive sables GAZ 22177 and GAZ 27527 (ZR, 2000, No. 6) has been started in the production of trucks.
The cost of cargo -passenger modification is 210 thousand rubles.

In 1958, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant launched the production of the UAZ-450 all-metal van with a carrying capacity of 0.8 tons.
In recent years, several modifications of the on -board truck have seen the light: with an enlarged wheelbase, with one and a half (ZR, 2002, No. 1) and two -row cabins. The UAZs are installed on UAZ gasoline engines ZMZ-402 and UMZ-4218 with a volume of 2.4 and 2.9 liters, respectively.
Prices for a seven -seater cargo -passenger van start from 160 thousand rubles.
The car is out of time
Years and era are passing, cars shine, puffs with corners, washed, now cut the eyes with new faces. And in the background of this picture of progress, no, no, and the UAZ loaf will flash. For nearly forty years, it has been released almost unchanged - not least, due to the complete monopoly of UAZ in the class of light -wheel drive trucks. Only this year, the Gorky Plant began the release of Sobol 4x4, a direct competitor of a loaf. Well, if so, we have every right to compare them.
Although, to be honest, doubts are tormented - after all, forty -five years of difference! Over the years, in another automobile company, five to eight models manage to change. Will such a comparison look like biblical beating babies? He will gnaw the sable inks a loaf and does not blink an eye! However, reality was far from so unambiguous ...

Close are distant
For comparison, they took cargo -passenger modifications - sable GAZ 27527 for 210 thousand rubles and UAZ -39099 for 160 thousand. It should be noted that the dealers have very few sables of 4x4, and there were no updated dealers at all. They agreed to a prerestyling machine, since the parameters we evaluated did not change. So, what unites these cars and what is different?
Sable is 400 mm longer, but more than 200 mm height may be more critical - not every garage will accommodate. Both machines are toned, four -door, seven -seater with almost equal volume of insulated cargo compartments. Passengers are more spacious - the wagon layout leaves them more space than a semi -roll. The fee for this is the motor in the cabin: it can be repaired without getting up from behind the steering wheel, but it is not easy to shout on the go.
Metal bodies are installed on frames, but at sable - on massive rubber pillows, and in the loaf - on thin washers from conveyor tape. The suspensions are dependent: the gas has long -five springs, UAZ has a short bag of thirteen sheets - hard, but very energy -intensive. In general, if it is convenient to go somewhere in a soft comfortable sable, then it is more pleasant to hide in a black company in a loaf with a warm company, put it towards the gun rifle, untie the backpacks ...

Evolution of the drive
Do I need all -wheel drive on asphalt? For a car that is not burdened with excess power, the answer is obvious, so a simple and reliable circuit with a rigidly connected front bridge is implemented at all UAZs. The disadvantage of such a scheme is frost with the connection of the front bridge and the inability to use all -wheel drive, say, on a slippery road.
A more modern design was used on gas: a constant full -wheel drive plus an interdose differential with mechanical locking - as well as, for example, on the field. This allows you to confidently feel on any coating, but you have to pay an increased fuel consumption and slightly worse dynamics.
Features of the design multiplied by domestic performance lead to the fact that UAZ with a connected front bridge mercilessly howls a handout with heavy straight -toothed gears. The transmission of sable itchs constantly, although not so strong, but the levers are so tight that you have to squeeze your feet. In the Nizhny Novgorod all-wheel drive, the original know-how is realized: working fluid, dripping from a chronically current steering wheel, drains through the springs and abundantly lubricates the suspension and the drive of the left front wheel. In addition, sable it twitches, it is worth turning the steering wheel stronger - archaic crosses stand in the front wheels. They say that there were no approaches to the transmitted corpses - hinges of equal angular velocities. But on UAZ they have - and nothing, they pass it. However, only the suicide risk turning the steering wheel of Sobol to the stop - in the extreme positions, the brake hoses are stretched like a bowstring, and even curved at the caliper at a right angle! Of course, you can unscrew the restrictive bolts and reduce the angle of rotation of the wheels, but the miscalculation of the designer is obvious, even the third student is unforgivable.

A huge distance
Sable unconditionally wins in the convenience of planting, ease of control, comfort, interior decoration, soundproofing, smoothness, brake efficiency, and the ZMZ-406 motor is quiet, like a foreign car. According to the driver's sensations, the all -wheel drive is almost no different from the rear -wheel drive, the front bridge and springs only slightly reduce the acuteness of control.
You need to get used to UAZ, this is a car for real men: cramped, noisy, hard, with a heavy steering wheel without an amplifier and uncomfortable pedals. It seems that when it was designed, the science of ergonomics was not yet invented. But a few days later, you begin to even love a plain van - especially if you have happened to experience it on the road.

Mathematics with geometry
The photographer clicks on the viewfinder: and weakly grab through this puddle? I then? Yes, never weak ... And after ten seconds, UAZ growled helplessly, mixing fat clay. No, the K-153 tires are good only for asphalt. He received satispulation after half an hour on a steep slope - both cars jumped on it with acceleration, but when they began to maneuver, sable gave up a spirit. In the literal sense, it smells a fascped clutch. Even in a reduced gear of the handout, the motor was barely enough for the moment to crank up the rather toothy K-155 wheels in loose sand. But the UAZ moved very cheerfully.
Once again, they were convinced that the modern powerful and resourceful ZMZ-406, installed on the sable, is good on the highway: after all, the maximum moment 172 N. M. It develops only at 3500 rpm. But the 2.9-liter UMZ-4218, originating from the ancient 402nd aggregate, has a characteristic, like a diesel engine. At lower power, it gives out 195 N.Ms already at 2200 rpm, which is much more suitable for an all -terrain vehicle. As a result, in terms of dynamics and maximum speed, the loaf is not inferior to sable, and in elasticity noticeably exceeds it.
On the off -road, even a larger total transfer of the transmission (in reduced gear 38.6 at Sobol and 36.9 at the UAZ) does not save the Nizhny Novgorod all -wheel drive - after all, it is also almost half a ton heavier.
A similar situation with geometric parameters of cross -country ability. Generations under gearboxes and the handout of the Ulyanovsk all-terrain vehicle only 10-15 mm more. The advantage, at first glance, is insignificant, but the smaller base and track significantly reduce the risk of sitting on the belly. But even if this happens, narrow detachable UAZ gearboxes easily cut out the soil. But the wide box on the Gazovsky bridge of the Spicier type rests on the ground, like a bulldozer scraper. But the sable is afraid of the diagonal hanging of the sable - he has 320 mm suspension against 240 at the opponent.

Which is better - sneakers or boots? Well, it depends on what. Walk along the sidewalk, run along the grass - why there are boots. Another thing, in the mud ... And if you need to choose one shoes for all occasions? Most will prefer sneakers and will look for a better way.
So with our pair of cars - we drive mainly on asphalt and all -terrain abilities of sable, if it is reasonable to use them, in most cases is enough. Naturally, subject to immediate replacement of brake hoses with longer ones! But in a serious off -road UAZ on some toothy rubber there are simply no equal - there are boots just right. And whether to go to them every day - decide for yourself.
