Our factories were carried away by all-wheel drive mini-wenes. First, the VAZ developed hope on the basis of the Niva. Now the Ulyanovsk people presented the UAZ -3165 Simba - the heir to the loaf.
So the cars of the UAZ-2206 and UAZ-3303 family came, it's time to go on a well-deserved rest. In essence, these are modernized UAZ-452 and UAZ-452d release of 1966. And if you take into account that the rear-wheel drive version, UAZ-451, has been conducting a genealogy since 1961, it will become all the more obvious: the car, whatever it may be, cannot be replicated for 40 years, bypassing only cosmetic alterations.
 
The new development of the plant-UAZ-3165 is finally fundamentally different from the predecessor. The current requirements of passive safety dictated the rejection of the car layout in favor of a semi -roll. And this is said. To maintain the capacity of the car, it took significantly (by 700 mm) to increase its base. The layer’s workplace is now similar to the one used on UAZ 3160, but the seat is shifted 200 mm forward.
 
The increased width of the machine (when developing it was no longer focused on the old track of 1445 mm) made it possible not only to move the driver forward, but also to place promising V-shaped motors. At the current stage, the UAZ -3165 design uses the ZMZ -409 engine, a five -speed gearbox and the same hand -boxing box as on UAZ 3160. We note that the track of bridges is 1675 mm - only a little smaller than that of Nizhny Novgorod sable.
 
To provide an acceptable maneuverability to the machine with a three -meter base, open hinges of equal angular velocities were used in the front bridge, increasing the angles of rotation of the wheels. Thanks to this, the turning radius is 6.1 m. The car capacity is 850 kg or nine people with the driver, which allows you to classify it as a car -van car like a mini -van. A car with a cargo platform - UAZ -2365 will be unified with it along the chassis and cabin. But the work will not end there.
 
In the future, the installation of a handout with an interdosseous differential, which will use all -wheel drive not only to increase patency, but also to improve stability and controllability on slippery roads. More distant plans are an independent suspension of the front wheels with longitudinal torsiones first for the rear -wheel drive, then for a full -wheel drive car. In general, there is a clear change in priorities - instead of a primitive rural all -terrain vehicle, the main advantages of which were low price and high cross -country ability, a road car that is suitable, which is suitable if necessary, will be offered, but not intended mainly for this.
 
As the real consumer will appreciate the car and how much he is ready to pay for it, time will tell.
