At one time, the Paugheot Partner test drive has been passing on Russian streets and roads well done. Now is the time to evaluate his younger brother - Peugeot Partner Tepee.
A new version of a simple and unpretentious heel, which managed to gain popularity in Russia, has an unofficial status of semi -commercial. The car took a step in two directions to increase the volume of the cargo compartment (calling it the tongue does not rotate it) and an increase in the level of comfort in the cabin plus improvement in sled qualities. What happened?
Let's start from the driver's seat. Tepee seats, which received developed side support, became noticeably more conveniently especially concerned with long trips. The seat adjustment range is very good especially in terms of lifting, which allows a small person to look at the front wheels even. True, when you sit high, when lowering the parking brake lever, you have to bend the spine, the lever would not hurt to install a little higher.
The same applies to the standard compromise for PEUGEOT between care for health and attention to smoking drivers - an emergency ash. Here it is installed in the bottle nest almost on the floor of the cabin, and it is impossible to use it blindly, the hand -lowered hand cannot remember the right position, and to determine the desired position there are no contact points. Of course, this is a trifle, but the smoking driver will simply fall asleep the floor of the salon as ash.
The gear lever installed on the tide is available in all positions. To cut the 5th gear, you have to straighten the hand to the end, which slows down the movement, but, in the end, this is not the regime where the dynamics is needed.
But the attempt to move from the 5th to the 4th gear with the return grip once led to the fact that I stuck reverse. It is good that the ear immediately caught a characteristic change in the sound of the checkpoint, and the leg did not release the clutch, because the inclusion of reverse speed at a speed of 80 km/h ... in general, you understand. In the future, I was more accurate (that is, when moving to lower gear, I did not turn my right hand with your thumb down), and there were no more problems. Nevertheless, the colleagues with whom I discussed this case were unanimous to include the rear gear, which excludes such prerequisites for the flight incident.
It seems that the checkpoint on the Peugeot Partner Tepee remained old (I do not specifically read technical documentation before the test drive) that is, from a version with a 75 hp engine. This allows you to confidently crawl in urban traffic jams and move off even on pronounced climbs. On the horizontal road, you can not use the first gear at all, it easily starts on the second, and for this the driver does not need high qualifications.
But at high speeds of the gearbox, there is not enough. The speed of 100 km/h is kept in the 5th gear at about 3100 rpm., And the engine's traction would clearly be enough for the 6th gear or simply to change the gear ratio of the checkpoint due to the main transmission.
However, even at the same time, the appetites of the engine remain moderate. According to my estimates, the average fuel consumption was about 8.1 l/100 km. This is a little for driving with high speeds on a car, which, in general, is not intended for this.
But the vocality of the gearbox caused some bewilderment. When moving in the 4th and 5th gears, the box begins to whistle quietly (a little audible on the fifth, and a little louder on the fourth). Whether this is a consequence of a certain inconsistency of the checkpoint and engine power, a constructive defect, or a feature of a particular car that has passed the test drive (so far) is unknown.
An even greater bewilderment was caused by a screech, which was heard during the movement of the reversing. What is its source, it was not possible to establish (for this it was necessary to listen to the outside), and I just waved my hand at this unpleasant, but not portending troubles of the sound background. Interestingly, the screech was not heard after night parking with light frost. However, after heating, he appeared again.
The characterization of the brakes along the pedal led to some bewilderment. In the first section, it is almost linear, but then a sharp change follows, and the brakes grasp very quickly. Even with my experience, I had to drive seven hundred and eight hundred kilometers to adopt to such a braking style.
It can be assumed why the brake characteristic was made just this kind of mechanical analogue of the Brake Assist system, and in the city it can really help out. However, the driver at first creates problems and even greater problems can arise in those who are following. Perhaps an attempt to save before can very well lead to a blow to the ass.
The information content of the steering wheel, in general, is mediocre. However, it is enough when driving in the city, and on the highway. Well, on the road, no one, being in their right mind, Partner Tepee will not drive.
However, in Russia you never know where the road ends and where the off -road begins. On the Moscow Riga highway, on January third, the movement was weak, and if in some places the snow was rolled to asphalt, then in some places it was brought to an ice state. Nevertheless, Partner behaved quite decently. And this is despite the fact that the machine was equipped with unsolved winter tires. Several times in icy areas had to be paid to the management of increased attention, but basically everything was standard. This made it possible to look with understandable feelings on the drivers and passengers of steep SUVs on the sidelines (there were three kilometers of fifty kilometers of fifty of these groups). The people expected a tractor for pulling out of the cuvette.
True, in the city this rubber presented an unexpected surprise. Despite the considerable wheel size (215/55 R16), Partner Tepee with rare reluctance was impressed by borders. This cannot be explained by nothing other than the properties of tires.
Another surprise presented ... the floor of the trunk. Even on the way from the auto center, where I took the car, the sounds came from the back of the cabin. Their source were the washing liquid in the luggage compartment (thank you Peugeot Rus - it was very useful) and a rescue kit (the cable, an emergency triangle and a fire extinguisher were packed in the case). This sweet couple was surprisingly at the cabin, during acceleration, braking and turning, getting into contact with the walls. The reason for the simple luggage gender has a plastic coating with a reduced friction coefficient.
 
For a truck, this design is quite justified, it greatly facilitates the movement of heavy cargo through the trunk. However, for a passenger-carbon (with an emphasis on the first word) version, which is Partner Tepee, it would be better to make the floor ordinary, and to offer lovers of cargo transportation as a slippery coating as an option. Of course, there are loops to fix the cargo in the trunk. But the grid was not as a result of which I had to use improvised products in the form of a conventional rope.
And finally, about sad. In the sloping weather Partner Tepee Pig Pig. It seems that when developing a car, they decided to save on purges to work out spray aerodynamics. As a result, there is a feeling that the machine meticulously collects all the dirt, which is lifted into the air by passing and oncoming transport, as well as it. Not only frontal and side glasses, but even external mirrors are very quickly and very quickly sprayed.
In itself, this only forces to wipe the mirrors more often, as well as go to the sink. This is unpleasant, but nothing more. However, the problem becomes serious in combination with the adjacent - unsatisfactory operation of the system of cleaning and washing the glasses.
The brushes of the front wiper of the test Partner left distinct flaws and stripes on the glass, although the mileage of the car at that time was about six thousand kilometers (not so much). The reason was quickly clarified by the incorrect coordination of the washer and cleaner. The brushes with a creak began to move dry, as a result of their rubber, it was polluted and wear out.
A sound thought to buy new brushes on the way was cut in the bud. They turned out to be non -standard: very long in front of the driver and very short in front of the passenger. You can buy such brushes only in the auto center. A short brush created another problem that the unpeeled zone on the top right turned out to be large, which immediately felt on traffic lights.
 
The rear washer behaves no better. He spits out (precisely, spits, not spray) a solid portion of non -freezing, which manages to slowly drain to the lower cut of the glass and only then the wiper brush begins to move.
 
All this forces us to use washer and cleaners often. In addition, with each click on the battery, the solid portion of the liquid is spilled onto the headlights. You can turn off this mode only with the near light, but the latter in bad weather, in my opinion, is simply necessary.
As a result, the washing fluid consumption becomes simply indecent. What was in the tank, and the already mentioned canist was enough kilometers at four hundred. And this is when driving along the highway. How often I would have to drink a washer in the city, it is better not to even think.
With additional expenses and with the need to often open the hood, one could also come to terms. However, such a shortage seriously worsens the review. This is especially affected in the dark, poorly washed off the dirt in combination with the angle of inclination of the windshield forces to at times move almost blindly. This does not add positive emotions to the driver ...
Summary. Partner Tepee is a multifunctional, interesting concept and a rather pleasant car in use. Rather, it would be pleasant if the efforts of a large team of developers were not lubricated (in the literal and figurative sense of the word) by a person who was engaged in the system of cleaning and washing the glasses. It is possible that in Europe with its clean roads this drawback is simply not felt. However, as is sung in a once -popular song, this is not England Russia!
It is hoped that Peugeot experts will be able to quickly work on errors. Because for all other indicators, Partner Tepee may well count on the attention of the Russian buyer.
