Comments:

Superb is built on the basis of VW Passat, which received four stars for the protection of passengers. In this test, Skoda confirmed the former result, and also noted the worst pedestrian protection - 0 points in this test. The body was significantly deformed during a frontal impact, and the driver risked to get injured chest due to the strike of the steering wheel and knead injuries due to the strike of the rigid elements below the front panel surface. Warnings about the inadmissibility of the installation of the children's chair "against the direction of movement" opposite the airbag also left much to be desired.

Front punch:

The breast cell of the driver hit the steering wheel. This, as well as the strong deformation of the body with a frontal impact, became the main problem of the car. Passive security systems coped with their task. The front seat belts were equipped with load limiters and pretensioners. Hard elements under the surface of the front panel threatened the feet and knees of the driver. The only advantage of SuperB over Passat was the presence of a three-point seat belt for the central seat of the seat rear row, which provides much better protection than the belt.

Security of passenger children:

Warnings about the danger of placement of the children's chair "against the direction of movement" opposite the airbag were worked out badly. The use of seat belts can improve the fixation of children's chairs, however, the instructions for their use did not turn out, so this possibility was not tested. Both children were seated in universal chairs, fixed "towards the movement" using seat belts. They showed a good result, although the load on the junior neck was too high.

Side strike:

After the first test, the manufacturer decided to include side security curtains in the basic configuration, so experts were allowed to conduct a re-test, the results of which are given here. The curtain defended the heads of the seds of both rows, and the airbag in the back of the chair - the chest and abdominal director of the driver. The door armrest pulled out to the driver's sides, but the blow strength was insufficient to cause serious damage.

Pedestrian safety:

Pedestrian protection disgusting - zero points in this category.
