Comments:

Of all cars with a rating, four Megane stars provided the best protection of the front riders during a frontal impact. However, when hitting the side, the driver’s chest was poorly protected, although the car satisfies the safety requirements for a lateral blow introduced in the EU in 1998. In the frontal impact, children's seats were poorly held by their passengers. Pedestrians were poorly protected when hitting, there was a high risk of injury when hit in most control points.

Frontal blow:

The passenger salon was not deformed significantly. The driver’s pillow provided stable contact with her head, but Glova nevertheless hit the steering wheel. The area near the steering column is covered by two linings to protect the knees. This saves from injuries.

Safety of passenger children:

The chair “in the direction of movement”, recommended for a 3-year-old child, was compatible with seat belts, but during the frontal impact, it could not prevent an excessive head of the head forward. For the youngest child, a “against the direction of movement” was used, fixed in the central place of the back row of seats using a three -point seat belt. The frame of the chair in several places cracked during the frontal impact and could not prevent a very strong jerk of the passenger’s head forward. Also, it did not hold the head within its limits when hitting on the side.

Side blow:

The driver’s head hit the upper security belt mount, but the overall level of protection was at the proper level. Protection of the pelvic and abdominal sections is recognized as good, but the chest has undergone high risk of injury.

Pedestrian safety:

It seems that the creators of Megane paid little attention to the protection of pedestrians. Twelve of the eighteen control points received an assessment of a very low rating.
