Comments:

Initially, EURO NCAP was tested with samples with the right steering wheel. Subsequently, it became known that levicultural cars are not equipped with a safety cushion for the driver's knees, although it enters the basic configuration for the right-hand drive (starting with VIN 6Y110573). In fact, such an option is not available for versions with the left steering wheel. Since the reference version did not comply with the qualifying requirements of Euro NCAP, it was necessary to conduct an additional test with the left-handed, the results of which were taken to determine the overall assessment. The right-hand drive car with a frontal impact manifested itself significantly better than lecturer, gaining 9 points and promising potential four stars in the category of protecting adult passengers. The basis for such an assessment was the smaller deformation of the passenger compartment. In vehicles with cross-arrangement of the engine, potentially less space to absorb the power of the impact from the side where the engine is located. Without relevant additional measures, it can lead to greater strain of the passenger compartment. In Voyager, the engine is located on the right side of the engine compartment. For Euro NCAP is the usual practice to request a confirmation of the same level of safety of the left and right-hand versions of the car. In this case, Chrysler did not provide such information. The manufacturer advised testing the car at the speed required by European legislation, which is lower than in the EURO NCAP method. Specialists of this organization require manufacturers of the same level of safety of vehicles with the right and left placement of controls. Although the right-hand drive was equipped with a safety cushion for the drivers' knees, it did not give a good result with a frontal impact.

Front punch:

Voyager in general scored enough points so that he was awarded three stars. However, the headshop results did not meet the minimum requirements for this category, so the number of stars decreased to two. The chest driver hit the steering wheel and crumpled its rim, and the grip of the chest, measured by the integrated sensor built into the mannequin, showed the high risk of serious or even mortal injuries. This crossed the hopes for at least the average result in the category of protecting adult passengers. Some elements of the torpedo represent a potential danger to drivers' knees. The sensors recorded a high level of thigh compression, so the protection of this body area was recognized as bad. The passenger salon was significantly deformed from the strike. The niche for the legs burst, and the gas pedal shifted to the salon by 288 mm. This, as well as instrument data on the high risk of the leg injury, led to the "bad" estimate for protecting the lower extremities.

Security of passenger children:

The front passenger airbag can be disabled by the Chrysler dealer, which will allow installing a children's chair "against the direction of movement" to the place of the front passenger. Plate with a warning about the inadmissibility of using such a design with an active safety pillow is unreliable on a folding shield. The presence of ISOFIX fasteners in the rear seat is not marked.

Side strike:

When simulating a side impact of a pillar, side airbags did not work as it should be squeezed between the head of the mannequin and the central stands.

Pedestrian safety:

The protection of pedestrians Voyager earned 0 points and not a single star was not awarded.
