Comments:
The BMW of the 1st series has a very strong body with a solid safety frame. After a re-windshield of a car with an improved airbag system, five stars were exhibited. With this type of impact, the sensors in the chest dummy fixed high load, although the results of the side impact were better. Protection of both children was good. Finally, the protection of pedestrians, as in the previous generation of the 5th series, turned out to be very bad.Front punch:
The body turned out to be very strong, the passenger salon was only a small deformation. After hitting the driver's door opened without much effort. Compression niche for legs was minimal, and the shift of the pedals back is well insignificant. Passive security systems included two-stage airbags for front sedams, pretensioners and seat belt load limiters. A lot of designer efforts were applied to protect the drivers' knees, as evidenced by the significant size of the filler in the casing of the steering column. The passenger knee zone is also recognized as fairly safe. The depreciation gasket under the rugs helped protect the feet of both passengers.Security of passenger children:
Front passenger airbag can be disabled manually, and its status is displayed on the icon next to the inner mirror. Both children were located in the FAIR BIMBO FIX-recommended by the manufacturer of Fair Bimbo Fix, installed "in the direction of movement" in ISOFIX fasteners and relying on the supplemental supports. With a frontal blow, the load on their chest cells was higher than the norm, however, the protection when hitting the side is good. A pictogram was fixed on the central rack, and on the windshield - a text warning. They all could easily break away and did not warn about the inadmissibility of the installation of the children's chair "against the direction of movement" opposite the active airbag.Side strike:
System of protection at side shocks included side pillows and security curtains. The construction of the body and these systems provided good protection with lateral shock overlap and post.Pedestrian safety:
Protection of pedestrians was extremely bad by typing only two points. The manufacturer should relate to this safety issue more seriously.General information about the car
