The current second incarnation of Turan is in many ways a well -known machine that has passed the update. The first version of this compactwane was light in 2003, and further work on the model was a multi -way combination. In 2006, Turan suffered light restyling, and now we have another set of improvements. Basically, they belong to a technical filling, while the interior has almost never changed, external dimensions and proportions remained the same, but the front part is given strict compliance with the new corporate face (surprisingly, it is perfectly suitable for the entire model range from Polo to Tuareg , and for Turan does not look stranger). In general, the car began to look more solid and solid. Despite the fact that changes are cosmetic in nature, aerodynamics improved: CX was reduced from 0.32 to 0.29.



Almost all competitors bring sports or futuristic notes to their interiors, but the Volosvagenists are true to themselves: the strict but boring style selected many years ago migrated to the 2010 model car unchanged. However, ergonomics is impeccable

In the cabin, everything is familiar with golf. That is, thoughtfully, ergonomically, efficiently. Perfect? Yes, we can say so. But boring. At least in some ways to dilute the office style, after all, we carry the family, and not the clerks. However, the most interesting is not how the interior is designed, but how organized. According to the manufacturer, the first generation had as many as 500 options for transforming the salon. Apparently, the novelty is no less. In the second row of seats, each seat has its own adjustment along the length and inclination of the back. They could be folded, removed the middle, moving the extreme center, so more space in the shoulders on the left and right. Or the middle chair turns into a table. You can take out all three completely and transport the refrigerator. And for the surcharge, the third row is also available! Few competitors can boast of such a designer.



Although Touran refers to the class of relatively compact buses, the possibilities of transforming the salon are comparable to full minivans. Each of the seats of the second row is folded and removed (the weight of one seat 17 kg)

New additional options make their contribution to the increase in comfort: a huge sliding glass roof with a curtain, as well as a full-fledged multimedia system with navigation and a rear view camera.

Cosiness on the long road passengers provide shelves, pockets and other secreters, where you can lay out all the necessary little things. With the number of such shelves, everything is in order, although for their volume and convenience Touran, perhaps, is not a record holder. The glove compartment in front of the passenger is not very convenient for its vertical layout. The box between the seats is a very tiny volume of its volume of the parking brake lever, the sliding lid-subsidiary and the entrances for multimedia devices. The position is saved by the compartment with the lid at the top of the central console, the secretaries under the seats, the pockets on the ceiling (unless, of course, the roof is glass). The rear passengers are content with only one cup holder (it is located at the bottom of the central console), but they have tables in the backs of the front seats and spacious pockets in the doors.

The gamut of engines has changed most serious. A 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 102 hp disappeared by many Volkswagen models. In his place came the boost of 1.2 TSI, which, with such a modest volume, develops an impressive 105 forces and does not graze either in the city stream or on the highway (it would be interesting, of course, to check it with full load!). Two diesel engines with a volume of 1.6 l 90 and 105 hp were added. And also a new modification of a two -liter diesel engine, developing 170 horses. However, whether new diesel engines will be offered to Russian customers and when it is not yet known.

A two -liter diesel, familiar through the past turan, pleases with silence in the cabin, the lack of vibrations, and, of course, a good traction. The company with DSG has a great option for long travel!

1.4 l of TSI gasoline turbo engine, developing 140 and 170 hp, also migrated to a new generation without changes. It is these motors that is the best choice if you do not consider diesel engines. They provide confident acceleration, you just don’t have to be lazy to press the gas at the start, and then such a motor is very worthy.

There are changes in the chassis. The first Turans were perfectly controlled, but were too tough for our roads. Yes, if gasoline is in the blood, it was possible to grab it from the heart along an empty road, but does customers need a family model? Passengers will definitely please that the new Touran has become more comfortable. Well, the drivers will celebrate that he did not lose good handling. All the same reference reactions to the steering wheel, small rolls, confidence on the high -speed line. All traditional virtues of Volkswagenes under him.

For the most demanding, the ability to order a DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) adjustable suspension was added. The button on the panel can be selected one of the three modes of Sport, Comfort and Normal, changing the stiffness of shock absorbers with electronic control. Honestly, I did not notice the special advantages of this option. In sports, the suspension finds microneries even on German roads. You have to be a completely fan of extreme driving in order to ride a minivan in such a stool. However, in Russia, two other modes may come in handy: suddenly Comfort will prove itself where the bad road goes into very bad?

A separate story is worthy of almost the most famous option for Touran Park Assist Parking Assistant. Compactwane was the first car of the concern, which was equipped (for a surcharge of course) a system that allows in automatic mode to park at the sidewalk in reverse. On the new generation, the option changed its name (now it is called Park Scan) and has become much smarter. Previously, she knew how to only perform the exercise parallel parking, and the car needed a space for this, 1.4 m exceeding its length. Now 80 centimeters are enough to confidently put the car to the curb. And this is not the only improvement. The new Touran knows how to install the car and where the neighbors stand in a row with a stern to the curb (or fence of parking). Moreover, if earlier the system could park in only one reception, now in narrow places it will correctly lay a trajectory requiring several movements back and forth. And when leaving the parking lot, the electronic parking worker will do everything automatically.

I could not deny myself the pleasure of testing the autopilot in the case. Works! You pass by free space, the system reports that it is put on alert. You hand back, letting go of the steering wheel ... And then the vanity begins: you need to monitor the display on the central console, to which the readings of the rear video camera and ultrasound sensors are displayed (6 of them in front and back), the indication of the centimeters remaining on the dirker in the dashboard in the panel of the instrument , which is overlapped by a frantically rotating trunk, a squeak of sound alarm presses on the ears ... Well, it would also be nice to glance at the sides, too. Answer, if that, the driver. In general, not stress, of course, but the nerves from habit requires iron, especially if there is intense movement around. In general, when he learns to work completely independently, including slowing down, it will be much better. Although you will get out of the car anyway to see: Touran is parked exactly in the middle of the allotted place!

Over the 7 years of life, Touran spread around the world with a circulation of 1.13 million copies, but he was a leader in his class only in his homeland, in Germany. In the rest of Europe, he entered only five. In Russia, the most successful was 2007, when 1447 Turans were sold (5th place in the class). In 2009, he rose to 3 places, but sales due to the crisis fell to 845 cars.

The main question, as always when the updated model appears, is, of course, prices. We will recognize them no earlier than autumn when the car appears in Russia. But, judging by the prices in Europe, the new Touran, if it rises, is slightly.
