Moreover, outwardly, it is impossible to find in any way, so we went to the city without paying attention to the chip tuning.
The first thing that catches the eye of the salon is an extremely simplified central console. She looks too simply against the background of wood inserts and under aluminum, and the plastic of the entire front panel does not correspond to the Volkswagen image. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel conquered his traction and ideal understanding with a 6-speed automatic. The greatest impression is accelerated with a gas pedal pressed 3/4 from the maximum capabilities of the machine. After a second delay in the Touareg turbopause, he literally shoots from the place after 2000 rpm, and acceleration continues up to 4000. The machine sorts the transmission almost imperceptibly, and the set the speeds are confident, but at the same time smoothly. As a result, we do not have official data on the dynamics of the forced Touareg, but on our own measurements, acceleration up to a hundred takes about 9.5 seconds. At this fuel consumption remained at the previous, very moderate level. With a fairly aggressive ride around the city, Touareg easily fits in 12-14 liters of diesel fuel per hundred, while the gasoline counterpart of similar power would probably consume at least 20 liters.
As for the characteristic diesel tarrament, it is noticeable in Touareg only when acceleration, if the engine speeds are in the range from 1000 to 2000 rpm. Further, the engine works like a gasoline, only the thrust is a head higher and the maximum power is already reached about 4000 rpm. Those. There is no need to listen to the angry howl of the motor at 7000 rpm, characteristic of lighters (as fans of diesel engines are called gasoline motors with ignition of the fuel mixture from the spark plug). As a result, for acoustic comfort, the diesel Touareg is on a par with a gasoline version, but at the same time, as mentioned above, is significantly more economical.
But the suspension disappointed: it is designed for people with a very trained vestibular apparatus. When the shock absorbers are in a comfortable mode of operation, the SUV sways on any, even the most nominal waves of asphalt, and reacts with deep rolls to any deviation of the steering wheel. Of course, in this mode, most minor irregularities remain absolutely invisible to the driver and passengers, but hesitates them very quickly, especially children. The transfer of shock absorbers into a sports regime slightly improves the buildup situation is almost completely eliminated and light shakes on road joints are transmitted to the body. In general, Touareg remains a very comfortable car, and there can be no talk of any sports control. In addition, the steering wheel at a speed of less than 60 km/h remains an off -road absolutely empty, and with an increase in speed, reactive force on the steering wheel remains purely nominal. There is absolutely no desire to go on Tuareg quickly.

Touareg, as it was, remained quite a successful car. In it, the Germans, with their characteristic prudence and pedantry, implemented a compromise between a real SUV and a representative car. Both of these qualities in the car are present and have the right to life. And that the restyling he only slightly refreshed the appearance of the machine and replenished the line of the engines with another excellent turbodiesel, which more than performs any task and does not require a lot of fuel in return. So Touareg has remained a reliable and proven friend and business partner, and that it is better to look for her in love with people, and not from cars, Touareg was not created for her. This is an honest car, for honest money, without licking and sentiments.
By the way, as for the price. The basic version of the Touareg with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel is $ 62,000. The tested car with an abundance of additional options is estimated at 75,000.
