In the automotive industry, comfort and cross -country ability are difficult concepts. If only because any trip with an extreme relief - off -road - already implies some hardships. Patriot is one of the most (if not the most) all -pleasing car that I had to test. But this alliness reminds of itself in comfortable conditions.
I can’t say that in the exterior or interior of UAZ, I found some kind of defect that killed me. It is sad, of course, that there is no air conditioner in the car - it is simply necessary here. The keys on the central console reminded my first cassette tape recorder Electronics: the same blatant, with noticeable cracks. The cup holder almost killed me from his niche. But all these are eventually not fundamental moments - especially since noting the shortcomings, it is worth calling the advantages: quite comfortable chairs, huge space both in front and behind, large windows that provide a wonderful overview, a giant trunk.
The first meters driving Patriot frankly scared. Of course, you need to get used to the pedals, steering wheel and brakes of any car, but it takes several minutes on ordinary passenger cars, and the patriot had to be caught much longer. As a result, we got along, although we had to steal even on an absolutely flat road - UAZ all the time strove to slip from a given path.
Patriot has very tight pedals, and their free move is very large. This is especially true for the brake pedal: you need a considerable effort, what to force UAZ to slow down, especially since the brakes are grasped close to the floor.
The steering wheel, despite the presence of a hydraulic wrap, clearly does not want to spin with one finger: the muscles will not hurt here. But the hardest thing is to control the distribution selector: to choose the right type of drive, maximum efforts will be required.
And acceleration, and inhibition, and even the most insignificant turn are accompanied by tangible swinging, who do not betray confident to the driver and passengers. We have a task: to drive through the ravine, go down to the river, drive along the water surface at a short distance from the shore and, finally, cross the field with an absolutely unknown relief. Who can handle it? I do not see the line!
Patriot will cope. Surprisingly, it is easier and more pleasant to control it in extreme conditions. The speed is small, the chatter is caused exclusively by the terrain and a large stroke of the suspension, which we tormented in full. Even the most impregnable, at first glance, the trenches turned out to be a real fun for this car.
In motion around the field, you can not restrain yourself, gaining speed. If under the wheels there is a pit, the pendant of the patriot - 2 bridges, and the rear on the springs - withstand any blow; The main thing is not to forget about comfort for passengers. Well, a short voyage on the water practically did not give additional information. Unless I was pleased with how confidently in lowering gear we crawled out of an uneven hut.
In conclusion, I will return to the idea expressed above: when choosing such a machine, it is worth carefully weighing all the pros and cons. Patriot is one of the few cars intended exclusively for off -road. Here he has no equal. If you go to a forest clearing twice a year, look for something simpler. Otherwise tormented.

When I was offered to participate in the UAZ Patriot test, I thought: what good can a girl say about a rude SUV, and even about the brainchild of the Russian auto industry? It would seem that all my impressions are formed in advance and they are not at all patriotic. Thus, the first meeting occurred with a very skeptical, on my part, mood.
Nevertheless, the organic of external performance had to be recognized: they can! I thought. Nevertheless, the first advantages in the form of a spacious salon, the abundance of legs and quite convenient seats (and this despite the lack of lateral support and the tilt regulator).

Relying on resistance, with all her might, I shook the gas pedal - to my surprise, it meekly falls into the floor, the motor roars, Patriot from the place ... What is the matter? Well, we went reluctantly the car is gaining speed.

I received answers to these questions by going on the off -road. A blurry sandy road with huge pits was taken without a fight. And why do we need dear, isn't it easier to go straight? You feel like a sort of pioneer who is not a hindrance to any off -road section. You go where you look - if you want to hunt, you want to fishing and do not forget that this miracle of technology will cost only 450,000 rubles. - Well, where else will you find this?
