What is in the mail today? An invitation to the presentation of the new UAZ 315195. Without jokes - indeed, they call the first test drive for journalists in the history of the plant. Yes, yes: Test the same UAZ 315195, which hid for so long under the mysterious index 31520.
 
In these numbers, it is no wonder to get confused. Of course, if you can confidently list how the UAZ 31514-017-10 differs from UAZ 31519-037, which means that you probably had to deal with Ulyanovsk machines professionally. And if not ... The author in advance asks for forgiveness for long obscure numbers. Otherwise, it will not work - domestic manufacturers are not supposed to introduce their own system for designating models.
 
Do not be a prophet
Project 31520 was intended to replace cars with indexes, at the beginning of which costs 3151 - descendants of the classic UAZ 469. Since 1992, when military orders have fallen almost to zero, Ulyanovsk cars slowly moved towards the civilian buyer. The hard top, locking doors, new seats, steering hydraulic power - all this significantly improved the consumer qualities of the machine.
 
Initially, project 31520 implied a deep modernization of not only the chassis, but also the body. They planned even straight doors and lowerings, but ... the economy should be economical - changing the shape of the doorways in fact means the manufacture of a new body. And therefore, the impressive costs of preparing production and the high price of the novelty: it would practically have been equal to the machines of the 3160 family. It was necessary to reduce the list of external changes - the car is distinguished only by the extensions of doors with sliding glass.
 
From what was
There is no wide range of domestic engines for UAZ 315195. Essentially, the most liability ZMZ -409 does not have an alternative - as well as inexhaustible bridges such as Spicer, and the Borisov hydraulic power steering. The reliability of these units is now noticeably higher than during the period of their development.
The handout used today with small -modular gears is half a solution. The reduced level of noise is reached only by a decrease in the size of the teeth of the increased stage, but because of this there was a slurred low gear of 1.47 (instead of 1.94). However, soon serial cars will receive a new handout - with boat gears and the correct low gear (1.94).
The gearbox will also change - instead of a five -a -way with a prefix card from the family of family 3160, an arzamas product with an original switching mechanism, where the rear gear is located opposite the first.
The eternal trouble of the Ulyanovsk machines - cracks in the cabin, passing dust and drafts. The obstacle to one and the other will serve as double seals of the doors and rear sides - subject to high -quality fitting of parts, they are quite efficient.
 
Driving 315195
For journalists, they presented two UAZ 315195 for acquaintance, characterized by gearboxes. At first he was driving a car with an Arzamas box. The idea to arrange the rear gear opposite the first is not so bad: it will pretty much help the driver who is trying to get out of the ambush. But in combination with the new gear rates of bridges (4.11 versus 4.63) and the lethargic lower the ZMZ-409 engine gave rise to a new problem: UAZ does not want to, as before, confidently, touch the second gear. And to find after the first, the second is not easy due to the unimportant selectivity of the switching mechanism. Further climbing the steps is also difficult - the programs are now unusual. They did their job and excessively long main pairs - the fifth gear grazes at the slightest, and the fourth - in a lesserly cool rise. It is inconvenient to go to the New UAZ with a traditional cruising speed for the previous cars - it is inconvenient - 100-110 need, otherwise you will have to work too often. A seditious thought was born: with such bridges it is quite possible to leave an old four -speed box, there is little sense from five -speed.
 
But the noise in the cabin has become much smaller: the engine is well strangled, the constant stroll of the gear of the distribution is not praised, and the gearbox is surprisingly silent. Managing a car at speeds above 100 km/h has become much easier: in the front bridge the longitudinal and transverse angles of tilt of the shkvorni are enlarged - it helps to better keep the road. The same goals are a reduced shoulder of the running-in and radial 16-inch K-153 tires with dimension 225/75R16. Yes, and the hydraulic wrap came across a successful one: the feedback, however, is almost no, but also the failures in the work too. In general, maintaining a straightforward movement no longer strains, but in corners and irregularities you have to steal. However, let's not forget: for the previous UAZ 31514, even riding in a straight line at such a speed - maximum mode.
 
We try to maneuver in a constrained space. Increased wheels rotation angles (thanks to new craps) in combination with a short base allow you to easily turn into one entry on a standard two -lane road with a small roadside. True, it is impossible to twist the steering wheel all the way - the wheels are touched by the frame. Apparently, on an experimental copy, they have not yet found optimal adjustment.
 
The smoothness of the course on the highway is quite expected from the UAZ with a spring front suspension: with small irregularities, it copes easily, and serious can easily wean to chew on the go - not long to bite the tongue. However, for large pardon, the margin of strength is more important, and it is considerable.
The second race is by car with the Ulyanovsk gearbox. This unit is noisier, but at least does not mislead the driver. It's time to look for off -road adventures. Of course, our tires are toothless, but it is quite possible to frolic in the sand dunes, it would only be a congress. Maybe let's go through the forest from the rear? The narrow path quickly brought into the dried swamp gradually increasing depth. Fortunately, the driver realized in time: he managed to return along his rut. And already on the way, we still got stuck in an almost harmless place. Only a couple of centimeters of the road clearance was not enough - wide reducers of spickers worked like bulldozer knives, and universal tires could not move the car. The oversight had to be corrected by wielding a jack and two logs.
 
A trifle, but annoying: the old UAZ on standard rubber would have passed here without any problems - a narrow crankcase of a detachable bridge would simply leave a small furrow. And the new tires, which in the outer diameter are less than the diagonal I-245, ate another centimeter of the road clearance. I wonder if the field would have passed here?
 
CALLIGRAPHY
Before the start of the production production of the new old UAZ, six months remained. In 2003, these machines are debuted at once in three versions: with an awning, a hard roof and an elongated base. The estimated price is about 5500 American monetary units.
What do you want to correct in the car? Perhaps most of all - the characterization of the engine, even if this is required to sacrifice a dozen horses. You can put up with a small transfer of bridges only by raising the torque of the engine at low speeds. Or return to the previous main pair? And one more thing: the cross -country ability of the Ulyanovsk cars should remain high - it is unlikely that buyers will forgive the shortcomings for this part. However, tuning firms will not be left without work - the plant would work.
