Our plants were fascinated by all-wheel drive mini-Waans. First, the VAZ has developed hope on the basis of Niva. Now Ulyanovsky presented the UAZ-3165 Simba - the heir to loaf.That's the cars of the OAZ-2206 and UAZ-3303 family came to go to a well-deserved rest. Essentially, this is upgraded UAZ-452 and UAZ-452D release of 1966. And if we consider that the rear-wheel version, UAZ-451, leads a pedigree since 1961, will become the more apparent: the car, whatever it be, cannot be replicated for 40 years, bypassing only cosmetic alterations.
The new development of the plant - the UAZ-3165 is finally fundamentally different from the predecessor. The current requirements of passive safety dictated the refusal of the wagon layout in favor of the half-door. And that means a lot. To maintain the capacity of the car, it was required significantly (by 700 mm) to increase its database. The layout of the driver's workplace is now similar to the one that is used on the UAZ 3160, but the seat is shifted by 200 mm forward.
The increased width of the machine (when it was developing it was no longer focused on an old rut 1445 mm) made it possible not only to move the driver forward, but also to place promising V-shaped motors. At the present stage in the construction of the UAZ-3165, the ZMZ-409 engine, a five-speed gearbox and the same handout box, which is on UAZ 3160. We note that the bridges are 1675 mm - only a little less than the Nizhny Novgorod Sable.
To provide a machine with a three-meter base acceptable maneuverability, open hinges of equal angular velocities are used in the front axle, increasing the angles of rotation of the wheels. Due to this, the rotation radius is 6.1 m. Car load capacity - 850 kg or nine people along with the driver, which allows it to classify it as a passenger car type mini-Ven. The vehicle with a cargo platform - UAZ-2365 will be unified with it on the chassis and cabin. But on this work will not end.
In the future, the installation of a dispensing box with an inter-axis differential, which will allow the use of four-wheel drive not only to increase the passability, but also to improve stability and controllability on slippery roads. More distant plans are an independent front wheel suspension with longitudinal torsion first for rear-wheel drive, then for the all-wheel drive machine. In general, there is an obvious change of priorities - instead of a primitive rural all-terrain vehicle, the main advantages of which were low price and high passability, a road vehicle is proposed, suitable if necessary to overcome off-road, but not intended mainly for this.
How the car will appreciate the real consumer and how much he is ready to pay for it, time will show.
