Try to find out from friends what they think about Avensis. I am sure that the majority will answer without much thought: what can I say, Toyota. The stereotype is packed in this brief characteristic, which is to one degree or another characteristic of any of the Toyota cars. The meaning of a typical assessment is reduced to the highest reliability, decent running qualities, convenience of the salon and not too expressive appearance of cars of a respected Japanese brand. Avensis of a new, third generation is cooked according to the same recipe. And although thanks to a rethought stylistic cut, the appearance of the model has become more emotional, it is unlikely that the new Avensis threatens the title of handsome. However, subjectivity rules the world. And, perhaps, some of the aesthetes will be imbued with the Japanese originality j-factor, which, according to the head of the Toyota design center, Vahei Hirai, is everywhere a positive assessment is everywhere.
As usual, the new Avensis added in overall sizes. But insignificant. The salon has become more spacious. The living space meets the requirements of imposing comrades. The chairs are distinguished by hospitality, and the lower back pain in this regard does not threaten passengers even on many hours of trips. But sitting in front places must be more likely to contact the top of the head with a gentle upper part of the doorway.
The laconic, strict interior is competently planned, carefully executed, and quality materials were used in the decoration. It looks pretty conservative, but quite appropriate for a solid D-segment car. A few old -fashioned embrasure of a faded liquid crystal display with climatic information located on the central console is perceived. This is especially striking against the backdrop of a chic optimal instrument shield with a pleasant orange-snow back. The usual handbrake is absent: it is replaced by the electroclave of the parking brake. In principle, it is convenient enough, but a taboo is imposed on the pranks in the turns.
According to the chief engineer of the project Takashi Yamamoto, the new Avensis exceeds competitors in the degree of saturation of the machine with high -tech equipment. Boldly! But be that as it may, even the basic set of comfort (and there are six of them) has a reasonable set of on -board charms, including air conditioning, music with CD/MP3/AUX, a contrasting system, seven airbags and so on. Further growing. Apogee of equipment version of luxury. There is everything from leather and bluetooth to cruise control and adaptive bixenon, from a rain sensor and separate climate to a contactless key and Russified navigation. With the transportation of things in the new Avensis there will be no problems. A capacious five-hundred-piece trunk of a sedan is able to absorb suitcases in a reasonable and set-up quantity, and the station wagon is generally a breakthrough of cargo.
On the move, the new Avensis is moderately dynamic and quite flexible (we are talking about a machine with a gasoline engine 1.8 and an automatic transmission, in addition to which versions with 1.6 and 2.0 and 6-speed mechanics will be available in Russia). Despite the relatively modest litrapue, the thrust of the power unit is enough for any of the phases of temperamental movement. It is not surprising, because Toyota took another step towards optimizing the engine. Or rather, combustion processes. Valvematic technology, used by Toyota engineers for gasoline engines, allows you to control not only a change in gas distribution phases, but also the height of lifting inlet valves. As a result, a high capacity relative to the parameters of the predecessor with better efficiency and environmental friendliness. In addition, the developers from Toyota have matured to use the variator. A tandem from a new engine and a variator gearbox turned out to be successful. The car smoothly and asserted accelerates. And at a decent (for a hundred) speed, it pleases with a margin of traction during overtaking.
Manual and sports modes are provided. The first is controlled by the variator selector, the second is activated by the button. One and the other, in fact, make the car more harsh. But agility is added slightly. The engine noise characteristic of variator options with intense acceleration is also felt in Avensis. However, the decibels are thoroughly muffled. The suspension is good. Her character is tough, which is an indisputable plus for controllability, but there is also enough elasticity to confront irregularities. The steering wheel is also noted. Despite the electric power capture (by the way, modernized from Auris), information blockade is not observed. But on the very bagel there are no tides familiar in other brands for the comfort of the thumbs. Everything else, such as brake and stabilizing systems, functions normally. Passive safety, of course, is in order. Review is acceptable through windows and in mirrors. In general, Toyota is Toyota.
