There are no random people in Italian designer centers, and Andreas Blatinas is certainly a significant figure. It was such a concern with the heavy name Fuji Heavy Industries, which produced Subaru, technically advanced, but rather boring outwardly cars. However, the first swallow flickered before the arrival of the Italian Greek, it was a white -silver conceptual model under the code name B11S, shown at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, an interesting option for a four -door compartment so fashionable recently. The concept car was accepted well, and this became the starting point for the new Subaru story. Stories of the brand with your own face and recognizable style. For some time it took to harmonize the lineup. And the case was getting better. The B9 Tribeca is sold, the Forester has been updated, and recently the restyled Impreza has arrived - a very nice car. All of them are with the new family coat of arms, which adorns the front part.

 

Tribeca facial expression may seem controversial. In addition, in front, it elusively resembles Cayenne, from behind - strongly mutating Alfa 147, the sides and completely, like the minivan, are massive. But closer to the fifth door on the sides suddenly manifests a muscular stamping, reviving appearance. All these elements are in some incomprehensible way linked to each other and attract a look. Even in black, the car looks catchy. Do you remember a lot of catchy Subaru, except for charged Impreza STI? But Tribeca is also the first pancake of the Japanese in the kitchen produced by the Parnis. But few understand me. Some consider the car at least strange. They don't like the new branded shield. Such should be put in the salon.

 

The interior is made with a claim. Especially when you consider that medium -sized SUVs are not the class where manufacturers practice avant -garde solutions. The avant -garde here - to count on the fingers of one hand.

 

The fundamental element in the interior is the central console spread out in three directions. She shows wide gestures to the right and left, and then smoothly goes down, filling the space between the front seats. Traditionally, for Subaru, the central part is finished with silver plastic, which imitates the metal. I simulate, I must say, not bad - you sit in Tribeca, as in a spacecraft.

 

The color scheme of the cabin of the test machine was extremely pretty. I could not spoil even plastic impressions, everywhere hard to the touch - it looks great. The assembly is American, but the quality is worthy. The chairs are designed to give maximum comfort. However, this did not harm them - the body is fixed better than you expect. But the steering wheel is three -spokes, with a good grip and very pleasant tactile. Sports genes?

 

After turning the key in the wells of the devices, red arrows light up and immediately make a shot circle in their orbits, after which the backlight and numerous indicators flashes. The Japanese did not stint on the illumination. After such a performance, monochrome displays combined under one film in the center of the console can disappoint. Though pretty. True, for a surcharge you can get a colored touch display.

 

The landing is high, and the small triangular windows between the front racks and doors create the illusion of a minivan. It is a pity that the five -seater version was at our disposal. I think with the third number the feeling of Minivan would only intensify. But B9 Tribeca is no minivan! The goal that people from Subaru wanted to hit is obvious. This is Lexus RX 330.

A 3.5-liter opposite engine comes silently under the hood. He works with a characteristic, not like anything, pleasing to a car gourmet. The cabin is quiet, no extra vibrations. The engine is thoroughbred only at high speeds.

A five -speed Sportshift machine with the possibility of manual selection of gears works in pairs with the engine. As the name implies, the automatic transmission should love quick and accurate switching, otherwise the price of its creators who chose such an immodest name is worthless. Therefore, I twist the motor with interest, trying to evaluate the operation of the machine. It turned out that the programs switch quickly and smoothly. Good job. There are no delays in Kik Dawn mode.

 

250 forces for an almost two -ton machine is an indicator that can guarantee dynamic movement. The B9 Tribeca is confidently accelerating and quickly leaves 200 km/h, but you still should not expect miracles of the speaker from it. This is a comfortable family SUV, not the frantic Forester 2.5XT, which jumps up to hundreds in 6.3 seconds.

 

The transmission is based on a glorified symmetric full drive with a system of redistribution of torque of VTD. This allows you to feel confident on hard coatings in almost any weather (especially if you change all -season tires to more suitable for one or another year), but it does not give the right to attack serious off -road. In fact, Tribeca is a classic SUV. Cracability of the machine can be improved by installing special rubber. But to do this with Tribeca is a very doubt solution. For these purposes, there are other brands.

 

Manageability did not present surprises. The suspension is soft, but not slaughtered. Yes, it allows the rolls, and when accelerating and braking, a swaying body is observed in the longitudinal direction. But thanks to the low center of gravity, Tribeca is understandable in management. You just need to feel its rhythm, and then no rolls will prevent you from attacking quick turns, passing them on the verge of sliding. The stabilization system can be completely turned off, and then ... However, this story is for another Subaru model.

 

The back is spacious. The seats of the second row are formed together in parts - this is not enough voluminous trunk (1063 l), in which two adult passengers on the third row of seats can sit. Under the floor, useful plastic containers are hidden. It is bad that to load things, this floor needs to be either removed or supported, while, for example, a shock absorber holds it in the Lexus RX 330. Tribeca’s steering wheel is easy and it is a pleasure to twist it. It is good that lightness in turns does not turn into a lack of feedback, which allows you to well understand what is currently happening to the drive wheels. And the brakes are just good. And by slowdown, and according to the pedal.

 

And yet, Tribeca is a machine for the American market. Should this be stopped by the buyer, forced him to pay attention to officially sold analogues? Despite the fact that the machine is sold only in the salons of the so -called gray dealers, this does not create visible problems for operation. As we were assured in a car concept, there are no difficulties in registering with new Americans. The car warranty is one year or fifty thousand kilometers. Service is carried out by official dealers. For example, Tribeca, purchased in a car concept, will have to take place at one of the Subaru branded stations.

 

The impressions of acquaintance with the novelty of Subaru turned out to be predictable - something like this I imagined this car. It looks modern, goes to the leg with the times and is sold at a competitive price. And, as practice shows, buyers do not stop the American origin of this machine. Even despite the fact that in the USA it costs two times cheaper.
