Everyone knows which elements determine the standards of the Subaru breed: its models are equipped with a constant all -wheel drive, an opposite engine, a recognizable appearance, as well as their special character in motion. These qualities attract mainly young and energetic: it is for them that Impreza did and make. But Legacy has always been intended for those who, although Impreza is to your liking, requires a more practical and comfortable machine. In general, this car is not for children. And in the last generation, BL5, Legacy became even more solid: nevertheless, in the previous version there was a certain hint of excitement.
 
And here is thoroughness and restraint. However, one must still pay tribute to the designers: the latter Legacy looks much faster than his predecessor, it seems that even a motionless car flies with an arrow. Moreover, this applies to the sedan and the station wagon, both cars look equally elegant.
 
Well, how are things with reliability? With durability to corrosion, everything is in perfect order: the model is far from ancient, it has been on the conveyor since 2003. The term, of course, is not so small for a middle -class car, but still not enough for a solid modern car to rot. An electrician also does not present unpleasant surprises. However, Legacy suffers from an ailment inherent in almost all Subaru: as a result of exposure to reagents, the radiator of the engine cooling system gives a leak. By the way, this malfunction, according to specialists, is characteristic only for specimens that operate in Moscow.
 
The LEGACY interior is perhaps one of the best in the class: the front panel looks elegant due to the abundance of aluminum in the decoration, the steering wheel is convenient, the devices are brightly highlighted and excellent read, and in addition the seats are distinguished by a good profile and developed side supports (especially in sports versions). There are no complaints about ergonomics: everything is accessible, understandable and logical. The space in the cabin by standards of the class is average: to sit at the back together is more or less convenient, but the three of them are no longer too comfortable. The equipment of any Legacy, as a rule, is quite rich, since in this generation of the middle class Subaru, the Japanese position as a rather high -level car. It is much more unpleasant for another defect, which manifests itself in almost every machine, although it can be often detected in powerful specimens with a 3-liter six or 2-liter turbo engine. We are talking about beating brakes. There is an opinion that the manufacturer initially miscalculated, selecting the composition for the disks. As a result, they are very easily overheated, and sometimes leads to completely fresh cars that have not passed and 10 thousand km. The official dealers heal the beating with a groove of the disks or their replacement, but this is enough for a short time: soon after the repair, the malfunction appears again. Moreover, complaints come not only from drivers who energetically drive the machine, but also from owners who are traveling in a calm style. The owners of such cars themselves see one way out: install tuning wheels (Brembo, DBA, etc.).
 
It is pleasant that the company that produces screaming frivolous WRX STI can build other cars: more adult, modest, luxurious and comfortable, but at the same time charming, frisky, with combat character. Legacy is a very correct car, balanced, with a pleasant set of consumer properties. And at the same time, it is quite reliable. The opinion of Subaru as a monetary vacuum cleaner arose, one must think, among those who at one time sought to save and, as a result, received old tired cars. The latest generation Legacy in the normal condition of the car in operation is by no means ruined, although the cost of its kernel maintenance cannot be called.
