Traditional family cars today have so hard that some of them are forced to leave the market. It's all about the price of the issue: the previous Legacy was considered one of the most expensive cars in the family segment, which is why its sales have been sluggish recently. The newcomer not only inherited this feature of the predecessor, but also strengthened it: he stands almost like a premium middle -class machine. That this is a bold statement or arrogance, because Subaru is a youth brand, and not a premium brand. Will the car even want to change his Impreza to the same Legacy or prefer Audi or BMW? It is difficult to say, however, someone will probably wish to purchase Legacy, because the cars of this brand have some mysterious attractiveness.
PORTRAIT
Outwardly, not everyone will like the car: Legacy headlights are too expressive and make it similar to the Opel Vectra of the latest generation. This confuses many, especially the admirers of the old Subaru. However, in the appearance of the model there are many interesting elements that make the novelty noticeable and in its own elegant.
I am glad that in the design of the salon, designers did without controversial solutions. The interior, of course, is modified, but the continuity is obvious: the internal space is harmonious, the quality and appearance of the materials of the decoration at the height. In general, the salon is fully consistent with the cost of the machine.
Legacy worthy behaves and in motion, at least at the sedan of the chassis, the car is controlled perfectly. Outback cannot boast a four -door counterpart, but it compensates for this defect with a high level of comfort (the suspension is amazingly long -flowing!). In addition, the model of the European specification finally had a turbo engine. Now Impreza owners have something to strive for, otherwise the turbo engine used to be available only to Americans and Japanese.
Choosing a body
In addition to the sedan, the Japanese offer customers OUTBACK station wagon. This is the same machine with which the fashion for off-road universals went, and in the fourth edition of Outback still holds the championship in this segment, flaunting a characteristic rough body kit and a fantastic road clearance. But it will not work to link the prices of the sedan and the station wagon: Legacy and Outback are simultaneously modifications of the same model, and independent cars that even have power units are largely different. Thus, the cost of the basic sedan is 1 199 200 rubles, while the station wagon will cost at least 1,363,500 rubles.
Sources of movement
The weakest engine is still a 2-liter unit with a capacity of 150 hp. (from 1 199 200 rubles). Unfortunately, only with it can the sedan be equipped with a mechanical gearbox, the station wagon, by the way, the manual transmission is not equipped at all. The other versions are installed by the variator (although not in the basic configuration: such a box is available for a surcharge of 57,800 rubles).
The engine with a working volume of 2.5 liters (167 hp) is placed on the sedan (the cost of a car from 1,362,100 rubles), and on a station wagon. True, at the sedan it comes with the variator, the station wagon with such a power unit can be with mechanics. A sedan with a 2.5-liter engine spends a little more than 10 s over acceleration, stopping the run at the mark of 210 km/h (the average fuel consumption is 8 l/100 km).
A 2.5 l turbo engine with a capacity of 265 hp The prerogative of the sedan (the price of version 1 698 500 rubles). And despite the fact that the machine is equipped exclusively with an automaton (by the way, this is the only modification of the sedan on which such a box is installed instead of a stranded checkpoint), it goes cheerfully: acceleration to a hundred, according to the manufacturer, takes only 6.2 s. The maximum speed is about 250 km/h. Fuel consumption is 2.6 liters higher than that of the model with an atmospheric engine of the same volume.
Six of 3.6 l with a capacity of 249 hp (Opposite LEGACY/OUTBACK engines) are installed exclusively on the station wagon (paired with an automaton: the variator in 5-door machines is only with a 2.5-liter power unit). The price of the version is from 1,959 100 rubles. In the mixed cycle, the engine consumes only half a liter less than the fuel than the sedan turbocomer, up to a hundred vehicles accelerate noticeably slower over 7.5 s, the maximum speed is 230 km/h.

But the modification with a 2.5-liter power unit performed by Sport differs both by filling and price: the cost of the car starts from the mark of 1,390,800 rubles. The main component Sports package (aluminum pedals, carbon in the interior decoration, other front bumper and optics, another radiator grille, Bilstein shock absorbers and 18-inch wheels). Sports Legacy with a leather salon, as well as a distance launch of the engine will cost 1,453,200 rubles.
