Skoda Yeti 1.8 DSG 4x4 test drive: in the footsteps of Radishchev

The portal Kolesa.ru once again visited the capital of Russia, having reached Moscow on a robotic snow man. But unlike the famous writer and director of St. Petersburg customs, we were taken to the golden -headed as many as 152 horses. Moreover, with a drive for all hooves

On a long journey, St. Petersburg accompanied us with tears. The rain that erupted caught the brick color of Skoda Yeti on the ring road and instantly revealed an unpleasant feature of aerodynamics: the water that was like the front wipers spread over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe front door windows, completely depriving mirrors orientation.

I do not like the route St. Petersburg Moscow. The endless stream of trucks and settlements makes the road very tiring: you have to press the brake almost more often than for gas. What a cruise-control. It is good at least that the automatic transmission with such traffic becomes a real assistant, significantly reducing the number of body movements on the eight -hour length of the track.

And on our new Skoda, Yeti is not just a machine gun, but a robotic six -band DSG with a couple of clutch. And it seems to be nothing new: another automatic switch for the Skodovsk SUV is not yet provided. It only works in a pair with a 1.8 gasoline engine with a capacity of 152 horsepower, helping to rotate all four wheels. Fans of Skoda Yeti have been waiting for a similar combination of engine, boxes and drive for a long time. After all, a transmission without a clutch pedal was available either with a 1.2 engine and front -wheel drive, or with an expensive and not very popular two -liter diesel engine, which, by the way, left our country.

Now the gap is filled. Skoda Yeti 1.8 DSG 4x4 of bright brick color is lucky from the cultural capital of Russia to the capital of the actual. And how lucky! Overtaking columns of auto trucks are given to a snowy man at a time!

Moreover, a good increase in power (compared to 1.2 engine) pleased not even so much as an increased torque, available from 1,500 to 4000 rpm. Although, in fact, Skoda Yeti began to go somewhere from 2300 rpm. Direkt Schalt Getriebe worked good elasticity of the engine, briskly sorting through all six gears. Having a good stock of time, we were not too lazy to test it in various modes, and revealed a number of interesting features.

Games with a monster
No matter how strange it sounds, the Yeti automaton was most interesting in manual mode. Only independent transmission management made it possible to most effectively control dynamic acceleration. When choosing programs yourself, you can accurately fall into the peak of torque, pleasing to the right leg, the pedal under which instantly reacted to any orders.

But for the active exploitation of the right hand, in general, there is a sketch of yeti with a manual box. But what is Drive and Drive S? Both modes are certainly good. Two clutches help DSG instantly, and most importantly, almost imperceptibly switch transfers in any manner of driving. The robot stumbles only once: when moving from the first to the second gear. Otherwise, the engine and the box are in complete understanding. But the active driver will have to get used to this idyll.

When performing overtaking with a transition to a sport mode, the transmission is only preparing to use its possibilities to be used in full, jumping from the highest gears a little lower. The robot passes to the fighting only under the volley of Kick Dawn, falling along the transmission staircase another one or two steps. In fact, such a two-stage preparation for a second and a half delays the moment of acceleration of Skoda Yeti after pressing the gas pedal.

The most effective acceleration is obtained if the accelerator is taped first to half the move, pulling up the speed, and only then press the right pedal to the floor. But all these troubles with modes for an amateur. An amateur of an active riding game, in which a snowy man enters at the first invitation.

In the usual life of Skoda, Yeti 1.8 DSG 4x4 became the very golden middle that will not allow a long time to doubt, looking at the price list in the interior of the official dealer.

What?
New Skoda Yeti 1.8 DSG 4x4 is available in all three trim levels: Active, Ambition and Experience. The first, at a price of 969,000 rubles, does not differ in special wealth, but, in general, has everything that is needed: ABS with ESP, two airbags, air conditioning with automatic adjustment, heating the front seats, an electric package and audio training with eight speakers.

For 1,019,000 rubles in Yeti, you can additionally see the on-board computer, rain and light sensors, cruise control, a 2DIN radio and alloy wheels R16.

And having paid another 60,000 rubles, the top Skodovskoye Parnish boasts with a two -zone climate, lateral airbags, the Maxidot information display and the R17 alloy disks.
