I acquired my current car, 5-door hatchback of Honda Civic, so now there was just a need to find a new car. Civic has many wonderful qualities that I really like. For example, an unlike exterior or an impressive salon made in a cosmic style. However, the model also has quite objective disadvantages: not too spacious sofa, modest sizes of trunk, hard suspension, low road clearance. But the most important minus is a robotic gearbox. You have no idea how much I got used to the strange nature of the switching of this transmission! And still a jerk -like movement causes inconvenience. It turns out that when starting from a traffic light, I seem to give everyone a solid head start and only then begin to catch up. Agree, against the background of cars with normal machines, such a feature is mildly annoying.

From my next car I expect not only an interesting appearance, but also a more capacious salon, because I often have to bring friends. In addition, snowboarding classes involve solid sizes of the hold: the board should be placed, whatever one may say. Among other fundamental moments, good dynamics, both in the city and beyond. Finally, the desire not to worry about parking in tall Moscow border pushes to choose a crossover. A serious SUV is useless to me, there is enough ordinary SUV. Let's see, which of the two applicants will be more significant.


Hyundai IX35 2.0 AT 4WD. 1 107 900 p.
Selected because: a bright example of modern automobile design attracts not only the appearance, but also with rich equipment.

Although I have been driving for almost three years and I understand well that not only appearance is important in the car, nevertheless, Hyundai is bought primarily by design, or rather, an extremely unusual design. The machine is released in the stream due to the intricacies of lines and contours, and in actual-fashionable white looks especially attractive. Well, the first, let’s say, the Korean crossover visa has passed. And what is there inside him?

The salon, I must say, also made a proper impression. It may not be as futuristic as my Honda, but here is clearly visible about the convenience of the driver and passengers. I will note numerous and convenient cup holders, and indeed, places for storing various little things in abundance. That, perhaps, the glove box seemed small, and I often take books and magazines with me. But the central box is suitable for storing napkins, creams and other cosmetics. An external MR3-player will also live here: CDs is the last century. The control of the radio itself surprised me a little: I had never dealt with the function of the touchscreen before, but I think I will get used to it and figure it out of all tricks. It is worse that the radio display brings a clear puncture in the sun. Although the music itself is advanced: there is a flash drive connector and built -in navigation. The board-computer, reporting the average fuel consumption and issuing many other useful information, also appeared very convenient.

More than in my civic, I liked the adjustment of the seat: the convenient position behind the wheel is just to find. Yes, and the size of the sofa, not to mention the trunk, is much larger than on my current car. I think, having folded the rear seat, in Hyundai you can easily transport furniture! Very impressive. In addition, a full -size reserve hid under the floor.

But the sled habits of the car made an ambiguous impression. On the one hand, the IX35 has a light steering wheel and a fairly smooth move. Everything is in order and with switching, the car is very evenly sorting through the gears, there are no annoying jerks at all. That's just the dynamics ... It is not that it is not, but clearly not enough. To get a clear acceleration from the IX35, you have to strongly drown the gas pedal, and something similar to the dynamics begins with a mark of 3000 min-1. Not that I complain, I understand that we are talking about a crossover, and not about a sports car. But still personally, I expected Hyundai a little greater agility from the handsome man. Let's see what a crossover from Skoda can on the road ...

The Korean crossover looks bright: this is not lost in the city stream. Excellent

A 2 -liter gasoline engine and the machine is not the most dynamic pair. So-so

Selected because: journalists do not get tired of praising Yeti, and I wanted to check if the car was really so good.

Even a short trip on a diesel Czech crossover is enough to fall in love with the dynamics of this car. The way the car goes is just fantasy. You seem to have only touched the gas pedal, and Yeti rushes forward, as if stung. I understand that everything is known in comparison, and against the backdrop of some sportkup, Skoda indicators will not seem stunning. But in the same way, the Hyundai IX35 compared to Yeti simply does not go ...

But the cool dynamics are large and unconditional plus yeti. On the other hand, the car is not impressive outwardly. In my opinion, Skoda is a typical model of German (okay, let it be German-Chesh) design: a little mean, correct and even boring. This car reminds me of a split heel. Perhaps someone even likes this comparison. But I really want the car to emphasize my own style and taste! After paying a million, I expect that the car will be bright, attracting attention. And here ... Judge for yourself, is the same heel, a workhorse, can come up to a modern, young, attractive girl who wants to fit?

Inside Yeti is the same. If you look closely, then some decisions on ergonomics are even better worked out here than in Hyundai. Say, the radio display is located more vertically, and therefore, less susceptible to sunlight. Or, say, on the display of the on -board computer, located between the dashboard dials, you can display an electronic speedometer, to which I am used to the Honda Civic. Excellent! But in general, the design of the salon, as well as the exterior, seem too simplified. And this is not to mention the fact that Skoda, in comparison with the Korean car, has a much less roomy trunk, and the sofa, as if, is closer.

In general, there was a feeling that the creators of Yeti, as it were, are trying to convey one simple thought to buyers: they say, in the car, as in a man, the appearance is tenth, the main internal content. With regard to men, I may be ready to share such a point of view, but with respect to a crossover? I don't know, the right word.

Now, if it were possible to take the gearbox and the Yeti motor and install them on the IX35, then the car of my dream would definitely be obtained. Choosing a new car was not easy. Perhaps I was spoiled by Honda Civic, which you feel at the wheel of which you are at the helm of a spaceship, but now I can’t imagine myself in a prosaic car in terms of design.

My choice
It would seem good to Skoda Yeti. A swift, receiving, obedient car with which you instantly switch to you. But the design ... Alas, with the image of the heel I cannot come to terms. Hyundai IX35? Seeings precisely by external factors. An attractive appearance, an interesting and very convenient salon, a large trunk, while the sluggish dynamics of the gasoline version crosses out all other advantages. What to do? The answer is unequivocal: Search further!
