Skoda Octavia RS Hatchback test drive since 2009 hatchback

Skoda Octavia RS: Practical sport

For more than one month, I planned the test of the charged Skoda Octavia RS and it happened. Immediately after a small repair, a bright blue hatchback fell at my disposal for a whole week. Mindful of the previous meeting with Octavia 1.8 TSI, which left only positive impressions, the date with RS-cu even more excited blood in the veins.

The appearance of five points! A little simple silhouette of an ordinary Skoda Octavia acquired a completely different look. Aggressive bumper overlays, a low suspension, daylight LED strips, optional 18-inch alloy wheels, an elegant spoiler on the fifth door due to simple manipulations, a typical family car turned into a charged car that causes genuine interest on the streets.

Outwardly, the RS modification can be distinguished by more aggressive bumpers, the rear spoiler, original alloy disks and a low suspension.

Inside the sports orientation of Skoda, only the steering wheel with the RS nameplate, steel pedals and sports seats with severe lateral support. In addition, the strict Volkswagen interior is successfully diluted by inserts for aluminum, which remind of the sports character of the Czech hatchback. Otherwise, the Octavia RS salon is all the same high -quality decoration materials and excellent ergonomics.

In the front bumper, bright LED light light lights are hidden.

Under the hood of charged octavia - a 2.0 -liter engine with 200 hp By the way, the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Volkswagen Scirocco tribe are equipped with the same motor. In the test RS-co-paired with the engine, a robotic DSG box was installed.

In the cabin, the reference Volkswagen ergonomics. RS modification prerogatives are excellent sports chairs with developed lateral support.

The key to the start and under the hood is barely audible begins to rummage around the turbo and fame. The six -speed DSG in the already familiar manner for her shirrows moves upwards, but a little dull at the start. Everything is familiar and understandable. Up to 2000 rpm, the motor is sleeping, after which a strong jerk and powerful acceleration. The engine strives to disrupt the front wheels into a slip, and Octavia RS sometimes tries to walk with his nose, but on guard the anti -boux, which is in a timely manner of an extra portion of the moment. Passport acceleration to 100 km/h is 7.2 seconds, and the declared average consumption of 7.9 liters per hundred. At the same time, in real life, Skoda ate about 12-13 liters, which, however, is not very good for a 200-horsepower turbo authority.

A swift silhouette and bright color attracts attention to the roads. In terms of controllability, this Skoda will be able to give battle to any opponent

On the Skoda highway, how glow! There is neither buildup nor excessive sensitivity to the side wind. Power is enough for the eyes. Slightly trampled and overtaken the passage is already looming in the rear view mirror. You just need to get used to the characteristics of the DSG robot, which needs time to get information from the accelerator pedal and make the only right decision. Otherwise, the benefits of the robot are evident. Up, the gears are shot from the rupture of traction from the machine gun during switching simply.

Skoda Octavia RS is not only a 200-horsepower turbocharger, but also a regular practical car. The spaces in the back are quite enough for three adult passengers.

In the winding areas of Skoda, it steer without a break. The arc is written in calligraphic handwriting, the feedback on the steering wheel is exactly as much as necessary. Does not graze Octavia on a broken road. Even on the turn, the Czech hot hatch does not jump on the pits, and clearly and without fuss continues to keep the given trajectory.

As an additional option, you can install the navigation system.

There is no excessive acuteness, like Mazda 3 MPS and Opel Astra OPC lighters, and the bunch of maximum turns is accompanied by small rolls. But do not forget that Skoda Octavia RS is not only a sports filling, but also a practical and roomy car, which with proper comfort can transport the whole family to the cottage or go on a long journey without risk of squeezing all the juices from their passengers.

The suspension copes with hard irregularities perfectly, not annoying passengers with heartbreaking blows, as on many hot hatchs. The silence in the cabin is violated only by small pebbles that hammer in the arches. Great sound insulation!

Skoda Octavia RS is an excellent symbiosis of practicality and spaciousness with light -handed controllability and powerful engine. And if in Russia the share of RS-ki sales is negligible, then on European roads, bright station wagons with the treasured nameplate now and then. But Europeans, like no one, understands a lot about the very practical sport when one car can stop in completely different hypostles.

Typical Volkswagen dashboard. Without delights, but convenient and readable.

For Russian dealers, the cost of Skoda Octavia RS starts at 999,000 rubles. Already in the basic version there is 2-zone climate control, rear parking, cruise control, an audio system with 8 speakers, fog lights, heating the front seats, rain sensor, a full electric package, 6 pillows and 17-inch alloy wheels.

A test car with dopa, including a stabilization system, xenon headlights, heated rear seats, a navigation system, 18-inch discs and a more advanced speaker system will cost 1,173,600 rubles.
