The new XUD 11 BTE engine for the 806s migrated to a minivan with Peegeot cars. This is a turbodiesel with direct injection and three valves on a cylinder, a working volume of 2.1 liters.
We knew that we would go by car with a diesel engine, but when it was brought up, we didn’t really believe it.
And the sound is not the same, and there is no vibration. When they started, there was no diesel sensations: the behavior of a solid gasoline engine, however, with slightly short transmissions. The maximum speed of 175 km/h we scored quickly and went, as we were eating, without arranging a car of special executions. If the car is ready to adapt to a person’s habits, you can afford to be just a person who knows nothing about the specifics of diesel engines and goes to himself on business.
PEUGEOT 806, as you know, is the first car that has a joystick gear shift. One of our colleagues could not adapt to his algorithm in any way, nervous and then instead of the third program turned on, then instead of the fifth first. When patience came to an end, we advised: do not catch the program and do not think about it at all, but calmly turn on what it will turn on.
And indeed, as soon as he stopped thinking intently about how to catch it, programs began to turn on more clearly. And all this time the engine forgave the engine, although the road led uphill and there were many turns. But no matter what our colleague does, no one would notice from the side that the driver of the minivan has problems. The 806th rose, without interfering with the rest. By the way, the colleague was not able to fully master thejomist, so that he very much interfered with the engine with his actions.
We change places and without problems with switching quickly we go further. Peugeot 806 - the car is very spacious. While one enjoyed driving, the rest right on the move took up the transformation of the salon. We drew the seats of the second row, admired Monblen, opening a huge hatch in the roof, went to look into the luggage compartment (you can walk around the cabin), pampered with a powerful air conditioner, whose deflectors were brought even into the doors of the second row.
Our 806 had a leather upholstery of seats. There were six seats in total, and not seven, as more often happens in the 806s, the seats are all with the armrests, even a driver’s. And a lot of pleasant little things included in standard equipment: shelves, boxes, cup holders, etc. I especially liked a special box for sunglasses to the left of the driver’s head in the place where the upper handrail is sometimes mounted.
At some point, they still did not endure and left the route. We moved to a large gravel oscillator for truckers. The error period has come again. The dimensions of the site made it possible to depict a steep turn at speed, inaccurate operation of the steering wheel, sloppiness in handling the brake pedal, etc. But no matter how we try to provoke the heavy Peugeot 806, nothing happened. The minivan, even hanging the rear wheel in the bend, did not go with a given path, like a trained lion in the circus, stopped exactly where it was ordered (excellent operation of the ABS), and also demonstrated the excellent work and information content of the steering. Yes, any Peugeot is a driver for a driver who knows a lot about active driving style. This is a branded tradition.
So, Peugeot 806 2.1 Turbo Diesel is a large family car. A car for steppe trips to the sea, on the weekend, the whole family to the supermarket. Comfort, spaciousness, besides, the engine is diesel. But if the head of the family suddenly wants to add adrenaline into the blood, he can sincerely press the gas and at the wheel of this minivan.
