To make a car cheaper, you can save on a lot: the quality of decoration materials, components, production costs and assembly. It was at the expense of the last paragraph of Peugeot that it was possible to penetrate the segment of budget models.
Last year, a Peugeot 206 sedan appeared among multi -faced and various budget models. The car is assembled at the Iran Khodro Iranian factory, which has long been cooperating with the French automaker. Earlier in Iran, Peugeot 405 was produced for the domestic market, and then its modernized version of Samand (Samand), which is now being produced in Ukraine.
Although the production of the 206th series in the Middle East, including the sedan in the new body, began several years ago, cars were sold only in Iran. And only after the appearance of a more expensive Peugeot 207 in 2006, the PSA concern removed the veto from the supply of a car to foreign markets.
Peugeot 206 sedan (Peugeot 206 Sedan) was created on the basis of the Hatchback 206, which was in 2004 restyling in 2004. From him, the sedan got engines and a front suspension like MacPherson. The back was a little modernized, it was based on an independent hatchback torsion pendant, which was complemented by diagonal levers. The wheelbase remained the same, and only the overall length of the car due to the posterior distance increased by 353 mm and reached 4188 mm.
If you sit in Peugeot 206 sedan with eyes closed, it is not so easy to distinguish it from the usual hatchback. In the cabin, everything remains, as before, the same finishes, an steamed oral oral control, a dashboard.
And only the greatest difference, secret weapon and, if you want, the main trump card of Peugeot 206 with the prefix sedan, are found.
Iranskal engineers managed to attach stern to the compact car, and even what! Due to the growth in the tail of the car, the trunk has almost doubled from 245 to 402 liters. And if, with folded rear seats inherited from the hatch, the length of the trunk reaches 1.5 meters.
On the Russian market, Peugeot 206 sedan comes with two engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liters with a capacity of 75 and 110 hp. respectively. Three configurations are available to customers: XR, XR Premium and XT.
In the simplest version of the XR, the car is equipped with a 1.4-liter engine, a mechanical gearbox, the front-line pillows of the driver and passenger, an audio system with a CD player, an immobler and a central lock.
XR Premium differs from the basic version only by the presence of air conditioning and costs 21,000 rubles more expensive than the basic version.
The XT equipment boasts the presence of ABS and the help systems for emergency braking. In addition, the car is equipped with climate control, full of electric packet and cast 14-inch discs.
The cost of XT with a 1.4-liter engine and mechanics is 390,000 rubles. With a 1.6 -liter engine and a mechanical gearbox 430000 rubles. And the same version combined with a machine gun is already 463,000 rubles.

When I first saw Peugeot 206 sedan, the car seemed extremely unattractive to me. The back did not fit into the impression of the hatchback, which was formed for almost 10 years, from the moment the car appeared in 1998. In my eyes, the outline of the back looked awkward and spoiled the harmonious profile of the hatchback. But still everything in order
The car interior, although it looks ugly, leaves a good impression. Torpedo plastic is hard, but it looks presentable due to the texture. The Iranian assembly did not affect the quality, everything was adjusted and made to conscience, nothing creaks anywhere.
Sitting in the driver's seat, I did not find the windows: in the visibility zone there was neither cheerful nor buttons. And an alarming thought came to mind that the windows did not open at all! As a result, after ten minutes, the buttons were found, in an extremely uncomfortable place deep between the front seats.
After the windows, the audio system came in line. The management turned out to be surprisingly comfortable, especially from the steering wheel lever. A great alternative to a multifunctional steering wheel, especially if you recall the age of the model. The sound also left a favorable impression and only on a rather large volume column began to rattle unpleasantly.
Conducted a driver's seat, as well as a steering wheel that can be adjusted in height. A man of growth 180-185 cm will be able to get a job quite convenient. However, at a long distance there is a shortage of adjustment of the steering wheel by departure. And if you try to eliminate this deficiency with the position of the seat, another nuisance is found: the knees rest over, and the hands do not reach the steering wheel to move away.
Manageability in the city was quite acceptable. And the energy -intensive suspension practices all the bumps and the problems of one of the Russian troubles are excellent. However, on the suburban highway, and especially at speeds of over 100 km/h, a clear connection with the car is lost, the car is constantly necessary to steal so as not to leave the direct trajectory.
I didn't really like the gearbox. The course of the transmission lever is too long. Including the fifth gear, you have to almost jump out of the seat in order to reach the extreme right position of the handle. The adhesion pedal, which should be shed to the stop, added oil into the fire. After the third switching, she will climb under the heel, so that the left leg is in a limited state all the time.
A 1.4-liter motor is more than working out its volume and allows you to keep up with the city pace. However, on the highway, limited power does not allow you to feel confident when overtaking. Even if you twist the motor up to 5000 rpm in each gear, it does not have enough agility. In addition, if you promote the engine to the limit, fuel consumption begins to significantly exceed the indications declared by the automaker, which, in principle, under this mode of operation of the engine is logical.
The noise of the tires begins to penetrate into the salon after 80 km/h, and after the tachometer arrow exceeds 3,500 revolutions, the engine roars begin to sing into the duet. The optimal mode of movement on the track seemed to me riding at a speed of 100 km/h in 5th gear: acceptable 3000 rpmers per minute and unobtrusive rustling of tires.
Having rejected more than 1000 km on a compact Iranian sedan, I looked at this kangaroo of French origin differently. I got used to his awkward trunk, which seemed huge to me. Got used to both the clutch pedal and with a long -speed handle. And he came to the conclusion that this car is good in its own way. And most importantly, he does not adapt to the driver, this driver adjusts to him and gets used to all the shortcomings.

Someone, on the contrary, is sure that the silhouette of the sedan acquired swiftness and at the same time solidity characteristic of the model 607.
Well, they don't argue about tastes. One thing I can say for sure in my life 206 sedan looks more elegant and harmonious than in photographs. Yes, its origin from the hatchback is obvious, but the trunk successfully fits into the appearance of the car. Moreover, a French breed is accurately felt in it. And if you recall that the lion cub is presented in the class of budget sedans, you can probably say the most beautiful car in this class. And, despite utilitarianism, the 206th pepper remained a female car.
The salon is also sustained in French style stylish and cozy interior, but hard plastic and fabric upholstery of the glove box. It is impossible not to mention the impressive dimensions of this very glove box, just lacks the backlight. Capacity can boast of pockets on the doors that seem specially created to lay out all sorts of little things there. You regularly forget the phone or sunglasses in them. The chairs are convenient, with good lateral support, in addition, the driver's seat is adjusted in height. The sedan inherited the unsuccessful placement of the windows between the seats, and it was inconvenient to reach for them a little behind, and it was not possible to learn how to find the necessary buttons to the touch. Small visors are poorly protected from the sun, well, at least they have mirrors, though also without illumination. The rear passengers were lucky less crowded there, which is quite consistent with their class, but the absence of head restraints in the rear seat is a serious miscalculation.
At the first acquaintance, a long free course of adhesion immediately attracts attention. However, you quickly get used to it. I had it to taste, but most colleagues still did not like a loud click at the beginning of the movement, the doors automatically blocked. Almost under the windshield there is a display on which the clock, date, information about the condition of the car are displayed (for example, a warning about the open door, but in English).
The 206th base is equipped with a cd player, though without mp3. But the control of the radio is duplicated on a steamed switch, which is rare in the budget class. However, listening to the music loudly, no desires do not start to rattle the door panels. The soundproofing of the motor is quite worthy, its roar is heard only at high speeds. But the tires are buzzing significantly if under the wheels of the Frenchman with the Iranian registration is not even and smooth asphalt. The programs are turned on clearly, like the hatchback.
Of course, 75 horses do not promise special agility, but they are enough in the city stream. And on the highway the lion cub does not far lag behind. The sedan calls into the turns almost without rolls, but a hard pendant does not like bedridden policemen, the car shakes and throws up at any speed. And the track immediately is given on the steering wheel. When braking, dosing the force is not very simple, too thoughtful reaction. By the way, the air conditioner does not complicate the life of a 1.4-liter motor, and copes with his work with a bang.
But in the parking lot it is difficult to get rid of the sensation that you park the hatchback: the trunk, and the hood, it is not visible from the cabin, and the shelter, the shelter, completely confuses. In addition, the mirrors do not allow to fully evaluate the place for the maneuver to rely on at all or park by sound.
It was even a pity to part with Peugeot. The little car causes undoubted sympathy and some feeling that he himself was asking for faithful satellites. And by nature, he still fits the girl, not counting the inconvenience of parking, especially if this is her first car to dashing. But the driver will appreciate the cozy salon and sweet appearance.
