Great scenery for presenting a new car brand! Its authors, like Valencia architects, tried to harmoniously enter their model into the urban environment, using extraordinary technical solutions.
The most unusual in the 1007th is the doors. When they are closed, Peugeot looks like a standard three -door hatchback, except perhaps a higher compared to classmates. I click the button on the keychain and a huge relatively size of the car itself, the driver's door is removed from the place and drove back on the sleds. A wide (92 cm) opening is opened in front of the driver and passenger. You can unlock and lock the doors both by pressing the button on the keychain, and pumping the traditional door handle. The doors were also tested in conditions of the cold Scandinavian winter, where they showed their performance in the cold and when icing. As for the frost resistance of the new pepper, the designers of the car had to believe in the word.
The only serious drawback of such a door can be considered expensive repairs in the event of an accident. How much the door to replace or the repair of its drive mechanism will cost, the dough organizers did not dare to evaluate.
At the peak of a black square
The car has a recognizable appearance characteristic of the latest Peugeot models: slanting headlights and a large grate of radiator in the style of model 407.
The back of the 1007th is no less expressive. The triangular block-fara is, as it were, combined into a single composition with tinted rear window. The designer finds even look like guides, along which the shift doors move: they go into the luggage of the trunk, creating a chrome line that encircle the back of the car. In general, for appearance 1007, designers deserve a solid five. A tall and at the same time a short car is difficult to make outwardly harmonious. In Japan, such machines, without adhesion to slyly, are dressed in a cubic shape. Designers from Pininfarina (with this Italian company at Peugeot, they showed a much greater fantasy when creating a purely city car.
The car is made on the basis of Peugeot 206, its length 3.73 m is the most compact Peugeot in the current model range of the company. With the apparent compactness of the 1007th, not so crumbs: it is only 10 cm shorter than the model 206, but much higher than it (1 m 61 cm against 1 m 43 cm).
At the wheel of the 1007th, a complete illusion is created that you are managing a large and solid minivan. Due to the high landing and large glazing area, compact puffs allows you to easily maneuver in the city stream, looking for gaps between machines. In front of the driver a huge windshield, on the right, triangular windows, under it are two full -sized shelves, the hood is not visible does not press the wiping in the shoulders. At least on the front seats, the driver and passenger feel absolutely comfortable. But in the second row there is much less space. However, two girls of standard growth (160 170 cm) will be able to get a job on the back sofa with complete comfort. The trunk of the new Peugeot is very tiny: a large road suitcase is hardly placed in it. But the 1007th, like most modern cars of the car layout, flaunts a salon with great transformation capabilities. All passenger chairs are folded in various planes and move back and forth.
You can change not only the organization of the internal space, but also, more unusual, the color scheme of the interior. Each car is attached to a set of three sets of colored inserts (in total 18 parts). With the help of these sets, for about 20 minutes, the color of the upholstery of seats, door panels, torpedo and ducts changes. Especially living natures are proposed to purchase a set of 12 sets of different colors for each month of the year.
Escaping from the city, we headed along the autobahn towards the mountains. Endless orange and tangerine groves flashed past. Orange fruits strewn not only trees, but also the earth under them. However, there was no desire to admire the beauties of time and desire. At high speeds for 120 km/h, Peugeot 1007 requires maximum concentration. Overting to the wagon (loaded with the same oranges), the driver of the compact puff is forced to actively steal in order to maintain a straightforward course. A tall car with a short wheelbase noticeably shakes with gusts of lateral wind.
But on the mountain road the 1007th showed himself very worthy. Of course, the high center of gravity of the machine does not contribute to the sports style of turning turns. It interferes to feel the road with your hands and the power steering. Nevertheless, the 1007th is not annoying on the mountain highway. The car willingly dawns in a turn and confidently holds the selected trajectory. Pigik does not scare the driver with drifts for discharge of gas and insufficient rotation. The car control is somewhat reminiscent of the last generation of lively communication with the road, I did not feel, but the car performed all my teams clearly and adequately.
For the 1007th, three engines are offered: two gasoline volumes of 1.4 liters (75 hp) and 1.6 l (110 hp) and a 1.4-liter unit diesel (70 hp). My partner and I got a version with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a semi-automatic box with a 2-Tronic sequential mode (a similar type of checkpoint is also called robotic). It is possible that it is this version that will be most popular in our country. This box requires a certain addiction in the automatic transmission mode switch in it with some delay, and it is necessary to adapt to the manual regime (it is better to throw gas before switching). If you get used to the transmission algorithm, then the power of a 1.6-liter motor is enough in all modes.
According to statistics, the volumes of class B machines are 35% of the European automobile market. In Russia, cars of this segment are also very popular about this, for example, the leadership positions of the Hyundai Getz model. For a woman with a child Peegeot 1007, an ideal car. But how big will this niche be? Question in price. The French have not yet announced the cost of the 1007th in Russia. However, it is already clear that it will cost noticeably more than model 206.
