These are not four digits, but a real name. And it goes to her much more.

 

Ah, how elegant, in one gate, they, these Frenchmen, decided to beat competitors. More precisely - on one door. The sliding door of Sesame is the essence of the entire Peugeot 1007. In any case, it seems so at first. And after all, the door with an electric drive itself is not a revelation - exactly this is installed on a full -size minivan 807. But in order to provide a small hatchback to Cesam: there may be disputes again, is it a hatchback? Or is it Mikroven? It seems that Peugeot specially confused everything to the impossibility.

 

In my hands a keychain, press one of two buttons, and: the driver's door remains in place. But the opposite, passenger drives away. I see - I keep the key upside down. Attempt number two. Moving away from the surface of the body, Sesam crawls back along the three guides. But vice versa? I press the button again. Closed. And not just closed, but lifted up. Under the buzzing of servo drives, numerous power Altsy included in their grooves. But what about: you can play as much as you like in design and image, but safety is above all. Any, albeit a sliding, albeit guillotine, the door is the most important element of the power structure of the body. And here, Peugeot has everything great: in the crash tests EURONCAP 1007 scored five stars and 36 points - for the first time among all participants! This baby is safer.

And again, what an elegant solution: soft plastic in the decoration is too expensive - nothing, the French took the usual hard and made a notch of small pimples on it. I decide for the sake of interest to be with the rear passenger. It’s not difficult to get into the second row, and there is enough space there - sitting is quite comfortable. But only together. And provided that people are in front of medium height. High companies are better to find another car. And the rear seats can be moved in the longitudinal direction, this increases the volume of the trunk, but significantly discriminates the riders. Goro, the doors are closed - I press the key on the left on the panel. By the way, in addition to the buttons on the keyen and keys in the cabin, you can open it manually: outside and inside there are comfortable handles. They must be strongly pulled, but then the door moves anyway on the electric drive. City - element 1007. Everyone looks after us. You can't miss one. Large letters, yawning air intake, a side line diverging by a mermaid tail. Peugeot! In the urban crowd we are agile, now brazenly, then coquettish, we climb forward. The maneuverability is excellent, the visibility is also (despite the wise system of two salon mirrors with different approximation). The steering wheel is loaded with an overly prompted lectric effort, but you quickly get used to it and feel the car well.

 

The motor here is 1.6-liter, almost 110 hp. Such an engine, however, is the privilege of the Sporty version. The motor votes loudly, although it accelerates the machine well. The gas pedal is quite long -term, so you can dose acceleration with great accuracy. But Sporty is not sports, but only sports. Due to the box: checkpoint is a ball of contradictions. The designers tried to combine the cheapness of the Eder with the convenience of the secondary room. The result was called 2 -Tronic - this is a robotic mechanics. The points of exposure to it are a pair of steering linen, a neat lever on the central console and a button located in the same place that turns on/off the automatic mode. There is no clutch pedals, the drive is electromechanical. The unit liked the quick wit - the box is constantly on the alert and listens to the driver: in which manner he goes, how intensively he presses on the gas. Therefore, he always chooses the programs necessary. But switches them with outstanding delays. The transition to manual mode does not add flush; Accelerating, Peugeot still stumbles on switching. And yet, 2 -Tronic is an interesting little thing: it allows you to play with a clutch (the moment of its inclusion can be caught by a gas pedal), and even scream at the start - if sharply, in one motion, press the pedal into the floor, the tachometer arrow will have time to jump to 2.5 thousands of revolutions before the baking throws the clutch. Mischief! The controllability was also mischievous. A hard suspension with a powerful stabilizer does not allow a high body to roll in corners. This provokes the gambling manner of driving. And he calls into Peugeot's turns perfectly. But if you overdo it, it reveals its echoing nature. I slightly threw off the gas in a quick turn, and it turns out that the unknown stabilization system is actually almost unbearable - it pulls out the 1007th only when it has already set off into all the heavy drifts. Yes, even then to say - does not pull, and so, the crook is a little and allows you to indulge further. I wonder what the engineers were guided by when the system was tuned like that? Maybe this is part of the Sporty configuration, or a bridge to 1007 RC? I liked the brakes - effective, with understandable control.

 

We leave the crowd of intersections for the sake of the speed of the speed track. And here 1007 manifests itself with dignity. By a maximum speed of 190 km/h, Peugeot is reluctant to select, but it pleases with its behavior. It will be possible to find fault only with the stiffness with which the suspension passes the joints and bumps of the Russian highway.

 

During our walk, we managed to notice some more shortcomings. For example, the abundance of light in the cabin turns into the fact that in sunny weather the information display is completely not visible. And when it was time to refuel, it turned out that the open driver's door closes access to the gas tank. Closed. It turned out that the cork of the tank is unlocking the ignition key, and it remained in the cabin. Again opened-winged. The tank was unveiled, but the key remained in the traffic jam, it can only be pulled out when you close the tank. So, during the gas station, the cork must either be held in your hands, or, together with the key, hang on a special hook. You can’t get away from the car anymore.

 

And again about Cesam. It is impossible to resist the fun with the door. May PEUGEOT employees and traffic police inspectors will forgive me, I drove with open doors, not paying attention to the swearing zoomers, or to the eloquent views of passers -by. In a compartment with a large hatch, this option will go beyond a certain surrogate of a convertible, but more like a rebellious van of mail. You can close (and open) the doors only at a speed of up to 7 km/h, so it is not always possible to effectively close on the go. By the way, it was possible to experiment with the effort that it is necessary to stop the door - it is strange, sometimes just put a palm in its path, and sometimes it is not at all children's power. More precisely, not ladies'. Although by the power of its charm, 1007 is able to defeat anyone, regardless of gender, nevertheless, first of all, the machine is oriented towards a beautiful part of humanity. The only possible reaction of girls to Peugeot is delight and tenderness. After all, this is not just a car - it is a bright accessory of the city fashionista.
