Opel Meriva test drive since 2010 Minivan

Elegance + functionality

Opel provided the first official information about the second -generation Meriva. This model will establish new functionality standards, striking in many innovative characteristics, the effective use of space and a bright modern design.

In 1999, the compact seven -seater Zafira became a pioneer of functional versatility, and in 2003 the launched first -generation Opel Meriva laid the foundation for a new market segment of small and affordable single -breasters. Thanks to the revolutionary rear seats, FlexSpace, high landing and spacious salon Meriva has functionality and compactness. This formula for success allowed the model to occupy stable leading positions in the segment of small single -rangers and go on sales in Europe to a level of over 1 million cars.
The second generation Meriva again raised the bar of functionality combined at a reasonable price. The advanced rear seats system FlexSpace has become more understandable and convenient to use. Now it’s even easier to shift or throw off the chairs. The machine is also equipped with the innovative rear doors of FlexDoors, opening against movement, they facilitate access to the salon, which is first found in the mass segment. Unlike the few FlexDoors, the rear side doors existing in the modern market, FlexDoors is full-sized rear doors that open regardless of the front at an angle of up to 84. They form a wider opening than standard automobile doors for which the usual angle is 68-70. The front doors open at the same angle 84. This is possible thanks to the middle rack, also designed to create additional body rigidity and protect against side strokes. In addition, FLEXDOORS doors are equipped with handles that facilitate landing and landing. The installation of door loops on the rear rack allowed, among other things, to increase the space of the legs of passengers.

At the same time, the system provides a higher level of security, which is especially important for families with children. Now parents have convenient access to the rear seat to put the child in the car, help him fasten or get out of the car. After all, when the front and rear doors are simultaneously open, a safe zone arises in which children and parents are not separated by the door, due to which the risk of children entering the roadway is reduced.

The FlexDoors system makes the car not only more functional, but also stylish. Thanks to her, the landing and landing of passengers looks natural and elegant: they no longer have to bend and crawl to get out of the rear seat.
In addition, the novelty has an enlarged luggage compartment, the revolutionary concept of the central console and an exclusive OPEL entrance with the built -in rear trunk Flexfix, put forward from the rear bumper, like a box from a cabinet. Became much more spacious and compartments for objects that are most often located in the cabin. The innovative Flexrail system is removable containers fixed on two bars between the front seats, which provides a convenient and flexible baggage storage system.

The expressive exterior and stylish interior Meriva is made in the spirit, characteristic of InSignia and the new Astra. The sculptural expressiveness of the car is combined with German accuracy and attention to quality. The single -luminous silhouette is streamlined, elegant and dynamic. The smoothly decreasing roof line in conjunction with the proprietary sign of Opel with an original side projection, reminiscent of a blade, and a wave -like line of the rear window, which improves the review of the rear passengers, especially children, makes Meriva a peculiar and memorable.
Repatible front chairs, similar to seats in the new Astra and Insignia, have the largest regulation range in this class: 240 mm forward-far and 65 mm in height. This option allows people of any age and complexion to travel with optimal comfort.
The curved porcate dashboard creates a feeling of wide open spaciousness. The central stand, inclined forward, brings sports notes to the interior and visually increases the interior space.

For the design of the salon, six color options and finishes are provided. This is the richest choice ever proposed Opel. High quality processing of the selected materials, as well as the design devices used in Meriva are characteristic of more expensive cars.
The line of power units includes powerful economical engines with turbocharges, developing from 75 to 140 hp. In addition, an especially economical version of Ecoflex is proposed. Buyers of Meriva will be able to choose between a 5- and 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automation.
Designed and developed at the Opel Design Center in German Ryusselshaim, the new Meriva will be produced in Spain, in Saragos. Its world premiere will be held in March at the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected that Opel Meriva will go on sale in the summer of 2010.
